    Zlatan fed, clothed me before stardom – Carter Efe

    Popular skit-maker, Carter Efe, has condemned the practice of filming acts of generosity while opening up on how ace rapper, Zlatan Ibile used to quietly help him before he hit stardom.   

    He stated that content creators who capture moments of them helping the needy are only monetising suffering.

    He said Zlatan at the time gave him money and clothes when he was struggling and nobody knew about it because he did not record a video to announce his kind deed.

    The online comedian also revealed that celebrity blogger, Tunde Ednut once gave him N1million and warned him against broadcasting it on social media or telling anybody.

    According to Carter Efe, he learnt valuable lessons from those experiences and that is why whenever he wants to help anybody, he does not announce it to the public.

    He said: “These content creators who make videos of people they’re helping are just making money off the sufferings of these helpless people. They’re not genuine. When I was nothing, Zlatan used to give me clothes and money. In fact, he gave me everything. He didn’t do a video so the world could see what he was doing.

    “Tunde Ednut once gave me 1 million naira and warned me not to tell anybody. These things taught me a lot. This is why when I help anybody, I don’t make noise or say anything about it.”

    In her words: “I wanted to do modelling because everyone told me I couldn’t do it like I’m not tall enough, and I told them, “Watch me.” And I ended up doing it. When I look back, I’m so proud of little Ayra, too. It’s because of her that I’m here now. It’s because of that 16-year-old girl who didn’t give up and kept going. I used to do cover [songs] on Instagram. My mum and her friends used to force me to do covers.”

    Grammy-nominated singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has updated Nigerians on how his N300m donation to orphanages will be utilised. 

    He published the official statement from his foundation that reads: ‘THE DAVID ADELEKE FOUNDATION’ regarding the three-hundred-million Naira promise he made to orphans in Nigeria following the cash donation he got from his birthday in 2022.

    ” It took over a year, but here is the official statement from his charity foundation; “We are pleased to announce that The David Adeleke Foundation, DAF, has committed to an additional donation of N300 million to orphanages across Nigeria as part of our ongoing efforts to contribute to the welfare of our nation’s children. 

    “As done consistently over the past three years, this decision has been made with careful consideration and a steadfast dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable children within our society. 

    “The disbursement process, which will commence within the coming weeks, will be overseen by the DAF Disbursement Committee, ensuring transparency and accountability in the allocation of funds. 

    “We understand the importance of transparency and accountability in charitable endeavors. Therefore, we assure the public that the allocated funds have been deposited into the foundation’s accounts, as mentioned in previous announcements. 

    “According to the updated disbursement list, the total number of eligible children is 13,936, with 1,688 deemed ineligible. The allocation is set to benefit a total of 427 eligible orphanage homes. With a total amount of #300,000,000 to be disbursed, this translates to an average of 19,733 per eligible child.

    “We acknowledge that the process of disbursing these funds to various orphanages will take time as the statistics of these orphanages constantly change over time.

    “We anticipate that the disbursement process will be completed within the next two to three weeks. During this time, our team will work diligently to verify and process payments to the selected orphanages across the country. We understand that there may be concerns and inquiries regarding the donation, and we appreciate the public’s patience and support as we work to finalise the details. 

    We assure you that updates on the progress of the disbursement will be provided in a timely manner. DAF remains committed to making a positive impact on the lives of Nigerian children, and we thank everyone for their continued support and encouragement.     Controversial singer Portable has faced yet another challenge, with thieves breaking into his studio and making off with several pieces of equipment while he was absent.

    This news was broken in a recent post on his Instagram page.

    In a video accompanying the post, the voice of a woman could be heard explaining that the studio had been burglarized several hours earlier, with an unidentified individual forcibly entering the premises and stealing multiple items.
