    Sensational singer, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has revealed how he was pained after his colleagues Fireboy DML and Oxlade, hit stardom before him.

    As a guest starring in the latest episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Spyro recounted being pained after some of his junior colleagues in the music industry gained prominence before him despite paying to promote his music on blogs back then.

    He said, unknown to him then, God was using his delayed success to teach him that it was not about his talent but by his grace.

    Spyro said: “I paid for my song to be on NotJustOkay which was a big platform back then. Once you hear their voice tag on a song, the song don blow. So, I thought that [I would blow].

    “So when Fireboy come blow, I was like, ‘Eh! Fireboy blow before me? God, me I still dey…’ And all those times, God was teaching me that it’s not about my talent but by his grace.

    “Oxlade too. I mean, before Oxlade blew, na me… Eh God! Oxlade was in my show in 2018. I also brought Davido and Mayorkun for the song. I had a song with Davido and Mayorkun in 2018. I thought that the song would blow me.

    “I would post Oxlade on my social media pages and urge fans to watch out for him. And he would come to my DM to appreciate me. Then he just blew before me. I was like, ‘God, what is going on?’

    “Na Oxlade and Fireboy blow na im pain me pass. No be say pain but it triggered me. I am happy that they blew at the point they blew but these are people that I was in the industry before them. I was like, ‘God, what is going on?’ So, it was so painful for me. It was frustrating. I would cry. I would struggle with God.”

    Veteran Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle, has said that Afrobeats singer, Yemi Alade deserves a national honour following her performance at the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

    Doyle, via his Instagram page, described Alade as Nigeria’s most significant cultural ambassador.

    Sharing the clip of her performance, he wrote: “Behold, Nigeria’s most valuable cultural ambassador. Yemi Alade is nothing short of a national treasure, she deserves a national honour.”

    The reality star added that society needs to treat women better.

    Controversial Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has disclosed an unfamiliar aspect of herself, revealing that she is very religious.

    However, despite her religious inclination, she said that she doesn’t attend church.

    Ojo recalled being the first person in her family to dedicate her life to Christ.

    The actress shared this revelation in the latest episode of Celebrities Quickies when asked to disclose something not widely known about her.

    She also revealed that her dream city to visit is Paris, in France.

    The Nation reported that the comedian and actress Warri Pikin experienced a noticeable transformation in her body shape in 2023, leading to diverse opinions from admirers.

    Subsequently, Warri Pikin shared her weight loss journey with her Instagram followers, continuing until recently when some of them cautioned her about losing too much weight.

    “Leave @realwarripikin alone!!! She was too big then.…. now she’s too small! she looks amazing and genuinely seems happy. That should be the END,” she wrote in an Instagram story post.

    Popular Comedian and actor, Otaghware Otas Onodjayeke, better known as I Go Save has made a new decision to go bald after spending $20K on a hair transplant.

    It would be recalled that he reportedly spent a whopping sum of 20,000 dollars to undergo a hair transplant in 2022.

    However, he has revealed that he has shaved off his hair to return to the natural state of his hair.

    He shared photos of his normal bald, cleanly shaven head.

    Sharing the photo, I Go Save wrote: “$20k hair gone as nothing beats natural natural nor gree for anybody.”

    Female banker reportedly commit suicide in Lagos over ‘economy hardship’

    A female staff at Globus bank in Lagos, Ikorodu, Amarachi, has reportedly committed suicide due to the degenerating economy situation in the country. 

    The young staff took her last breath after consuming a hard substance (sniper). 

    Laying beside Amarachi’s dead body, is a note where she listed her reasons for her actions.

    According to the late banker, she felt nothing was working in her life and her future looked bleak alongside extreme hardship and a depleting economy.

    Rather than continue to struggle, she chose to end things while apologising to her family and friends for her decision.

    The Nigerian singer and songwriter Simi Kosoko recently expressed her disappointment with those who publicly support predators.

    She announced on her Instagram page that she intends to distance herself from such individuals.

    In the now-deleted post, Simi made it clear that she wants nothing to do with people who continue to support predatory behaviour.

    Distancing herself from such people, she stated that there comes a time in life when one has to use one’s senses and there is no excuse.

    Police begin investigation on Tiwa Savage’s alleged threats by Davido

    The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the receipt of the petition filed by Afrobeats singer, Tiwa Savage against her colleague, Davido for alleged bullying and threats to life.

    The Nation reported that the ‘Stamina’ crooner in the petition which made rounds online, accused Davido of uttering disrespectful words in reaction to a post that included herself and the singer’s first Baby mama, Sophia Momodu.

    The singer explained how she expressed disappointment at Davido’s threats and reminded him of how she stood by his family, especially when he lost his son, Ifeanyi.

    However, she claimed to have received calls from mutual connections seeking to know what she did to upset Davido and questioned her relationship with Sophia.

    The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, while responding to an inquiry by PUNCH on Tuesday, said investigation had begun into the allegations.

    He said: “I can confirm to you that we have received the petition, and investigation has commenced.”
