    Singer Kcee debunks rumour of alleged ‘use, dump’ of young artist

    Nigerian singer and songwriter, Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo professionally called Kcee, has cleared the air concerning allegations that he used and dumped the ‘new cat’ behind his hit song titled: Ojapiano.

    Kcee, in a recent interview with BBC Igbo, debunked the false accusations that he abandoned the boy called Ojazi Igbo against the believe of many.

    The singer said he flew the boy from the east to the studio in Lagos after he saw him perform at a show and paid him more than he requested.

    He said: “I am deeply saddened by the way our Igbo people spread false news that I did not help the boy. It is not true,” Kcee said.

    “I saw the boy selling goods, called him, flew him to Lagos from the east, took him to the studio, paid him more than what I agreed with him, dressed him, called him wander around different places in Lagos. How did I do it wrong?”

    Kcee said he was happy that the boy later made a video and informed the community that there was no conflict between them.

    Veteran Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki has revealed how some people stereotyped him to be an illiterate because of his roles in movies.

    The screen legend, stated this in a chat with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, where he affirmed people’s beliefs that he was uneducated, judging from his mischievous movie roles.

    Changing the narrative, Aki said he is a university graduate with a substantial certificate.

    He added that his mother informed him that he needed to attend school in order to be successful in life due to his stunted growth.

    Aki stated that his mother informed him that due to his short stature, he could not become a carpenter or a bricklayer and that he needed to study hard in order to conquer the world.

    He said: “Due to the mischievous roles I play in movies, some people think I’m not educated. My mother told me that I have to go to school and study hard to become successful because I cannot become a carpenter or a bricklayer because of my stunted growth.”

    Religion has done more harm than good, says Austin Faani

    Popular Nigerian filmmaker and actress, Chacha Eke’s husband, Austin Faani, has said that religion has done more harm than good in Africa.

    Faani, speaking on the sacrifices he made for his wife when she was mentally ill, he revealed that religion is over hyped.

    Speaking at the Meticulous People Foundation Outreach, a foundation that deals with mental illness, owned by Chacha, Faani recounted how a pastor deceived him into sacrificing goats in a bid to heal his wife.

    Sharing the video on her Instagram page, Chacha Eke wrote: “The universe knew I would need ‘saving’ and so they sent ‘Austin Faani’ my way.”

    He said: “I’m a very religious person but I believe religion has done more harm to Africans than anything else.

    She said: “In November 2012, I took her to a church because I told the pastor that my father-in-law killed a lot of cows for her, he said I should kill something for her. So I ran to Abraka market and bought a big goat for her but at the end of the day, the same thing kept happening to her.”

    Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Olakunle Churchill, has stated that bad news spread like wildfire than good news.

    He shared some thoughts on people’s reactions to good news, amid his rumored split with his wife, Rosy Meurer.

    Few weeks ago, a blogger reported that the couple had gone their separate ways due to infidelity and domestic violence.

    The blogger alleged that Churchill had purportedly been physically abusive towards his wife and had been absent from their shared residence.

    Despite Rosy’s public admiration for her husband, the blog asserted that she was the primary breadwinner for the family.

    Speaking via a recent post on his Instagram page, Churchill lamented that “people would often stay silent when they hear good things about you, but their reaction would be different when it is bad news.”

    He affirmed that while positive news doesn’t get good reach, negative news spreads rapidly.

    Churchill added that as he can’t control other people’s thoughts or perceptions about him, he has channeled his energy into personal growth and self-improvement, focusing on his journey.

    He said: “When people hear good things about you, they stay silent. When they hear bad things about you, they spread it like wildfire. When they hear nothing about you, they make things up.

    “However, it’s important to remember that you cannot control what others say or how they perceive you. Instead, focus on being the best version of yourself, and concentrate on the journey, the same mouth that bites you will celebrate you.”

    Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu known as Burna Boy, has revealed the inspiration that brought to life his forthcoming seventh studio album, ‘I Told Them’.

    The self-styled African Giant, said he travelled back to his old tweets on Twitter and he realised he had previously tweeted about all he is achieving now, hence, he decided to name the album, ‘I Told Them’.

    Burna Boy disclosed this in a recent interview with American media outlet, Complex.

    He said: “Them’ in my album title, is anyone that ever didn’t believe in me at any point in time.

    “The way the name of this album came up is because one random day, I just went on my Twitter [page], and I started scrolling down to my old tweets. I wanted to see what the first tweet I ever tweeted was, for some strange reason.

    “And then it just sent me down this rabbit hole, where I’m just looking at everything I ever said. I’m like, wow! It’s crazy. I really did say all these sh*ts that is happening now. And that kind of made me to name my album, ‘I Told Them’, he said.

    According to the singer, the album would be released on Friday, August 25, 2023.

    Grammy award-winning artiste, Burna Boy, has releasd his highly anticipated seventh studio album, titled “I Told Them…”

    Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has weighed in the level of insecurity in the country, saying it is unsafe to deploy graduates to danger zones.

    She urged the federal government to scrap the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme given the insecurity bedeviling the country.

    “It’s time to scrap this idea since corpers can’t travel within this country without let or hindrance!

    Burna Boy said: “Afrofusion is a big melting pot of cultures and sounds. Afrofusion is not a box.

    “Let me break it down, why I created afro-fusion is because I didn’t want to be boxed into any afrobeats or hip-hop or anything. Because I don’t believe in genres. I had to create my own.”

    The Nation recalls that Burna Boy recently asserted that afrobeats is “literally nothing” and lacks lyrical substance.

    Shatta Wale said: “No Ghanaian artiste has even made it like Asake. Not even me.

    “Nobody in this Ghanaian music industry has made what Asake has made. Let’s be realistic.”

    The host inferred: “But you said you are the richest Ghanaian artiste and you haven’t even made it up to Asake’s level?”

    Shatta Wale replied: “Why would I have to make it up to Asake’s level before I would be the richest artiste in Ghana? There is a Spanish artiste in Spain or Dominican Republic that is making money that we don’t know.”

    Recall that Shatta Wale recently asserted that the successes of Nigerian musicians have dwarfed the achievements of their Ghanaian counterparts while congratulating Asake for selling out the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.
