    Burna Boy clarifies comments on black Americans culture

    Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has debunked claims insinuating that he said black Americans do not have culture.

    In an interview with American media outlet, Complex, Burna Boy said he that his statement was misconstrued.

    He said his mission was to build bridges and unite the world.

    Burna Boy said: “My mission is to bring us [the world] together. My mission is to build a bridge that can’t be broken, a bridge that should have always been there.

    “People that said that I alluded that Black Americans don’t have culture have their own agenda.

    “Coming back to the point of that I said black people have no culture or whatever. Does that even make sense? If you watched the video of the interview, if you can show me the part where I said black Americans don’t have culture. That is all I need. If somebody can just show me that part.

    “There is nothing I said that Malcolm X didn’t say. But obviously, it’s Burna Boy saying it and he is from Africa and it fits the agenda for your little group or whatever.”

    Famous Nollywood actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh, has decided to help the ailing Nigerian singer, Joshua Iniyezo aka SolidStar.

    The Nation reported that the singer’s brother, Joseph had via social media disclosed the state of his health, where he noted that the singer was battling an undisclosed mental health.

    Joseph had begged the general public and colleagues to financially help his brother, stating that the family has spent so much in the bid to get him back on his feet.

    Reacting to the singer’s family’s plea for financial support, Tonto Dikeh via her Instagram on Thursday offered to help the singer, adding that he was ready to sacrifice all for her back in the day musically.

    She further said that she feels heartbroken that he was abandoned despite having strong men around him.

    She wrote: “First I’ wld like to say thank you to @officialsolidstar and his team back when I knew him. I am for ever grateful.

    “How can I get through to solid star’s management or family? That’s my street blood mehnn, dude was ready to sacrifice it all for me to do well musically.

    “Na me just no hear word. Never charged a penny, never agreed a gift, not even a hug. Such a selfless human, I’m hurting that he has strong men, and he is still outside.. please team point me to the right direction. Thanks.”

    Acknowledging his late mentor, Sound Sultan’s teaching, he said he taught him that it is possible to live a decent life even as a celebrity.

    The ‘Who Is Your Guy’ frontman stated this while featuring as a guest in the latest episode of The Honest Bunch podcast co-hosted by actor, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel aka Nedu.

    He said: “I saw Sound Sultan, he doesn’t drink nor smoke. Even when we go to club, you won’t see him chasing women.

    “He said the politicians would bring a lot of money. Dem go put Ghana-must-go down say just support. But then he told me that if he accept, wetin him dey plan down for his kids? But now he is actually gone.

    “We live like we own our lives. You are going to leave your kids behind one day. What are you leaving them to? What kind of society are you creating and you’re leaving them to? Sound Sultan made that impact on me.”

    Speaking further, Spyro said: “Why should I be boxed as a gospel singer or secular singer? I’m just a singer and it is expected of me to make decent music.”

    Some of the talented acts featured on the album include Nigerian artist Seyi Vibez, alongside international acts 21 Savage, Dave, J. Cole, and Byron Messia.

    The album, titled ‘I Told Them,’ is scheduled for release on August 25th.

    Burna Boy, often referred to as the African Giant, has been nominated for the Grammy Awards six times, clinching the award for Best Global Music Album in 2021 for his album “Twice As Tall.”

    Rapper Falz opens up about knee surgery ordeal

    Nigerian activist rapper and singer, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has shared the challenges he faced during his knee injury and subsequent surgery, describing it as “a very difficult time.”

    Falz underwent knee surgery on May 2, 2023, at a medical facility in London, United Kingdom, after damaging his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) while playing football.

    Nigerian activist rapper and singer, Folarin Falana aka Falz, has explained his knee injury ordeal as “a very difficult time.”

    During an appearance on Cool FM Nigeria’s program, The Big Friday Show, hosted by reality star Tacha, Falz explained that his ACL was completely torn, leading to his knee instability.

    He said: “It was a very difficult time for me. I had ACL reconstruction surgery. Your ACL is like a ligament that holds your knee together. What actually happened is that the ligament tore completely. So, my knee kind of gave way.

    “It was an actual football injury. I was just running, and it happened just like that. I don’t know how it happened because I’ve been playing football since I was a child, and everything was going smoothly. Maybe on that day, I didn’t stretch well.

    “But this kind of injury is not uncommon. It’s quite frequent among athletes. I’m glad I’m back on my feet now. I’m up and running again. It’s a one-time surgery. I’m currently undergoing rehab with physiotherapy. I’m working on rebuilding the muscle back to 100 percent.”

    Speed Darlington files lawsuit against fin-tech company

    Controversial rapper, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has filed a lawsuit against a fin-tech platform named Palmpay for unauthorized use of his image in an advertisement.

    Palmpay had on Monday uploaded an advertisement that captured the image of the rapper on their official Twitter account now called the X app.

    Reacting to this infringement of his image rights by Palmpay, Speed Darlington, who hails from Imo state, released a statement through his legal representatives.

    He is suing the company and is seeking compensation of 200 million Naira for the unauthorized use of his image.

    The rapper shared his grievances on his Instagram page, shedding light on the unlawful act and urging Palmpay to rectify the situation before he takes further legal action.
