Jubilation as Hamzat floors PDP, LP candidates at polling unit

Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Usman Hamzat emerged winner at Polling Unit 027, Ward C1, College Road, Ifako-Ijaiye, where he cast his vote, in the local government election.

Jubilant scenes erupted at the polling unit after Presiding Officer, Kareem Aderonke declared Hamzat winner with 335 votes out of 336 valid votes cast among 848 registered voters.

Labour Party (LP) candidate Adedayo Ashade secured one vote, while People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Michael Oloyede recorded no votes.

Voting in Ifako-Ijaiye commenced late, as officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) began arriving only at 9:28 a.m., delaying accreditation and voting despite the early turnout of voters from 8 a.m.

Hamzat cast his vote at 10:12 a.m. after arriving at the polling unit with his family at 10:10 a.m.

He expressed confidence in victory despite the late arrival of LASIEC officials.

Speaking after his declaration, Hamzat described voter turnout at his polling unit as satisfactory.

He said voter education had been sufficient despite perceptions to the contrary.

“Well, it’s on the average. If you look at my polling unit now, we have well over 300 voters who came out to vote there. So for me, it’s okay on the average.”

He added that people are generally interested in participating in governance and attributed low participation in some areas to misplaced voter cards and citisens’ perception of local government elections as less important.

“Generally, there’s always a vote in our party, the country generally. People are always interested in being a part of the system and all that. For them saying there is no information or that there was not really much sensitisation on it, I don’t think that is true because I know vividly that INEC and LASIEC organised a lot of sensitisation programmes and engagement with the communities like the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Muslim community, and the youth.

“So, I think some people, a lot of our people, have misplaced their voter cards. Most of them feel because they’ve misplaced it, they cannot vote. I think that’s the major problem. And the fact that people always believe local government is just a local thing and all that, so a lot of our people are not always interested in coming out to discharge their civic responsibility.

“It’s just like when the government said we should register for our NIN and all that; people didn’t go for it. But when they saw that it was going to affect them, they started rushing it. So that’s our system in the country, which is a very bad thing.

“So for me, it’s just the nature of our people. I would just advise that it’s always very important for our people to come out to discharge their civic responsibility by electing into offices their leaders. So that’s my advice to our people,” he said.

On whether full local government autonomy would affect council performance, Hamzat noted that Lagos State local governments already enjoy full autonomy and are performing well.

He said: “Well, first and foremost, since I assumed office, Lagos State local governments have full autonomy. Our funds are always released to us. So for me, and that is why it is majorly in Lagos State that local governments are doing wonderfully well and performing.

“Just recently, we saw a lot of local government chairmen commissioning state-of-the-art public health centres, commissioning road projects and all that. For me, I don’t see it affecting it or anything, but it’s just the people that are not always interested in doing things right. That’s my view about it.”

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government and APC vice chairmanship candidate Oluwatoyin Awoniyi-Akerele described the election as peaceful and expressed optimism about their re-election.

Awoniyi-Akerele arrived at Polling Unit 023, Ward B, at 11:08 a.m. and voted at 11:23 a.m. She commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise, stating that people were coming out gradually and that all party agents were cooperating.

She said the APC was confident of re-election, having performed well for the community, and assured residents that the administration would continue its good work to deliver the dividends of democracy.

Senator Kingibe dumps LP for ADC

Senator Ireti Kingibe has dumped the Labour Party (LP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Kingibe, who represents the, Federal Capital (FCT), speaking to journalists in a viral video seen by The Nation, said he has chosen ADC because of the division in the Labour Party (LP).

She said her formal defection would be marked with fanfare at the appropriate time.

Responding to a question, Kingibe said: “I’m totally and completely committed to ADC. But obviously, as the senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, don’t expect me to just take a lunch break and go and collect card. I want to do so with noise and fanfare.”

When asked if she was satisfied with the leadership of ADC and the coalition she was joining, she said, “It’s something that is evolving. So you cannot say while your child is still crawling that you are not happy with how he’s going to run. You wait. We are growing.”

Responding to concerns that her defection might cost her the senate seat based on constitutional provisions, Kingibe said the Labour Party has since been split into two factions, a situation which, she argued, legally allowed her to move.

“I ask you to please read the constitution. There are two factions clearly of Labour Party. The perfect definition that the constitution gives for somebody to decamp without penalty.

“So you say I should stay in Labour Party. Which faction of Labour Party do you want me to stay in?

“There are two clear distinct ones. Even INEC got two sets of results and candidates, though they didn’t accept any. There’s no question of that.

“Even the time when we didn’t have two clear factions, did you see anybody implementing it?

“But I do follow the law. And if there were not two distinct factions of Labour Party, I would not presume to decamp, because that is unconstitutional. But they are.

“And this is the definition that the constitution gave why it would be okay to decamp to anywhere I wanted to go to. I just chose ADC,” Kingibe said.

Kingibe was one of the political figures spotted at the unveiling of ADC as the platform of the opposition coalition in Abuja on July 2.

  • Akpabio hands over APC leadership in A’Ibom to Eno

Akpabio hands over APC leadership in A’Ibom to Eno

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has handed over the leadership and political structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State to Governor Umo Eno.

Akpabio performed the handing over at the first meeting of APC Stakeholders in the State at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Uyo.

Addressing the gathering, Eno urged the party’s leadership, from the Wards level upwards, to accept the movement and merger with open arms, in order for everyone to be beneficiaries of the movement.

“This is a merger and as the Senate President has said, we must, therefore,  approach it with love, unity, and understanding. There has to be some sacrifices from both ends.

“Let the leadership and members bring down the rhetorics so that we all can come together in droves and build a truly united All Progressives Congress in our State.

“We have heard stories where some ward leaders have brought out lists of requirements for people that want to join the party as if it is a marriage ceremony. Honestly, that should not be. We should be happy that Akwa Ibom is getting united, and we are all better for it,” he said.

Eno assured the stakeholders, especially Senator Godswill Akpabio, of his readiness to work together with the Party’s hierarchy, and support the ideology and interest of the Party for the overall good of the people of the State.

“I just want to tell our people and the party that I am here to work with you. I am here to contribute to the growth of the Party. We will work with you, and give you that honour that you so rightly deserve”.

Akpabio, who described Eno as a great unifier, a man of foresight and vision, said the governor’s leadership has brought peace and unity to Akwa Ibom and repositioned it for future growth.

The Senate President described Eno’s movement into APC  as a merger, and not an acquisition and urged all members to join hands to work for the progress and overall interest of the State.

He called on the Governor to integrate the State stressing that his position as the Senate President is not to lord over the Governor but to protect the interest of the State to ensure its progress, so as to leave behind a legacy of love, peace and unity for unborn generations.

He announced the modification of the party’s slogan to encourage integration, love, unity and progress.

Akwa.Ibom APC Chairman, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, commended the Governor for his exceptional leadership style that has transformed the State to a united and peaceful haven.

Ntukekpo assured the Governor of the willingness and support of the party’s leadership, urging members to submit to his leadership, guidance and direction, for the expected growth and progress of the State.

The State APC Woman leader, Obonganwan Obonodo Uko, Youth Leader, Dr. Clement Awakessien, representatives of Chapter Chairmen, Mr. Utitofon Jeremiah, and representatives of ward chairmen, Mr. Edidiong Dama, appreciated the Governor for his inclusive leadership disposition and especially for reaching out to them even when he was yet to join the APC.

They acknowledged that a good number of their members benefited from the Governor’s empowerment initiatives, and pledged their readiness to support the Governo to attain his lofty ideals for the party and the State as contained in the ARISE Agenda.

The event was graced by members of the State Executive Council, and the political class.

Dafinone hails Okpebholo’s Supreme Court victory, urges inclusive leadership

Senator Ede Dafinone has congratulated Governor Monday Okpebholo following Thursday’s Supreme Court judgment which affirmed him as the duly elected Governor of Edo State, describing the ruling as a victory for democracy and a resounding affirmation of the people’s will.

In a statement on Friday, Dafinone praised the judiciary for what he called a “sound, courageous, and fair judgment,” which dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

“This landmark judgment brings to finality the legal contestation over the 2024 Edo governorship election,” he noted, adding that it “strengthens public confidence in our democratic and judicial institutions.”

Calling the decision a personal triumph for Okpebholo and a collective validation for the people of Edo State, Dafinone urged the Governor to now focus on governance and unity.

“As Governor Okpebholo settles fully into office,” he said, “I urge him to bring to bear his wealth of legislative and public service experience in reshaping Edo State and propelling it to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other fast-developing states in Nigeria.”

The Delta Central lawmaker also charged the newly affirmed governor to lead with magnanimity and a sense of inclusion. “This moment calls for statesmanship and unity. Elections may have divided the people, but leadership must unite them,” he stated. “Now is the time to build bridges, heal wounds, and chart a collective course for the progress of Edo State.”

Dafinone further appealed to all political stakeholders in Edo to work together with the governor to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, emphasizing that “the energy and promise of Edo State must not be stifled by political differences, but harnessed for the common good.”

He said: “I, Senator Ede Dafinone, Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, heartily congratulate His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on his well-deserved victory at the Supreme Court, which on Thursday affirmed him as the duly elected Governor of Edo State. • Lagos council poll: Six million to elect 57 chairmen, 376 councillors

Lagos council poll: Six million to elect 57 chairmen, 376 councillors

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) yesterday said over six million Lagosians are to elect 57 council chairmen and 376 councillors in the Saturday Local Government Election.

LASIEC Chairman, Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (Rtd), said this while briefing reporters on the commission’s preparations for the poll.

She cleared the air that the election will hold in the 20 Local Governments Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of the state.

Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile said that out of the 19 registered political parties that expressed interest in the election, only 15 political parties would participate in the election.

The election, she added, will be held in all the 13,325 Polling Units across the state.

“The total number of registered voters stands at 7,060,195. The number of Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) collected is 6,214,970 while the number of PVCs uncollected is 845,225.

She expressed optimism that the commission is fully prepared to conduct a peaceful, fair and transparent Local Government election.

She said the LASIEC was not taking anything for granted as it had put everything humanly possible in place to ensure a successful election.

“The commission is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a successful, free, fair and credible election that is devoid of violence, intimidation, or harassment. We count on you for an unbiased and balance reportage of the exercise. My appeal to all the contestants is to uphold democratic values and conduct themselves with decorum, maturity, and respect for the rule of law. The commission remains non-partisan and will not condone any form of electoral malpractice or violence,” she said.

On accreditation of voters, she said that LASIEC would not use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) during the election.

She said, instead, an alternative electronic device would be used for seamless accreditation.

“We have worked with a device using telephone to get voters accredited for the election. It works anywhere and does the same work with Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS),” she said.

She stated that the distribution of sensitive materials to all councils would be done on the eve of the Election Day in the presence of security agencies and political party agents to ensure security and transparency.

According to her, non-sensitive materials have already been deployed.

Justice Okikiolu-Ighile informed the gathering that councillorship results would be collated at the ward collation centres while the chairmanship results would be collated at the local government collation centres.

  • Boss Mustapha’s regression to revisionism

    Boss Mustapha’s regression to revisionism

It was the turn of Boss Mustapha, lawyer, politician and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, to lend his voice to the distortion of contemporary history on Wednesday.

Although he has never been known to be a controversial figure, the politician from Adamawa State momentarily indulged in curious revisionism by attempting to de-emphasise the contribution of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the victory of the mega party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), during the 2015 presidential election.

As if he was addressing a country enveloped in amnesia, Mustapha, in fact, also attempted to disparage the input of the Southwest and other followers of the esteemed National Leader to the success of former President Muhammadu Buhari during the historic exercise.

As he reeled out the falsehood, many guests at the Mallam Garba Shehu’s book presentation shook their heads in disapproval.

It is pathetic and counter-productive that 13 years after the successful merger, some APC members still relate to the organisation as chieftains of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The platform is still being viewed as a party of senior and junior partners, and not an organisation offering the opportunity for all members to grow, contribute, mature and advance without let and hindrances.

The perception of a national party through ethnic, primordial and regional lens reflects an addiction to clannishness. This also portends a mortal danger to national unity.

The motivation for the strange vituperation is unknown because the former SGF has not been associated with frivolities, prevacation and falsehood.

Posing as the copyright owner and authentic historian of the ‘legacy parties’ consultations’ that culminated in the birth of APC, the former defunct Action Congress (AC) national secretary declared that the merger only produced 3.2 million votes in addition to Buhari’s existing 12 million votes from the North.

Two things can be easily deduced from the statement. Like Mallam Nosiru El-Rufai and other exponents of regional bullying, the votes of the North could have exclusively taken Buhari to Aso Villa, the seat of power, without the addendum votes from the South, particularly the Southwest.

The second is that now that certain northern voices, no matter how few, are calling for the jettisioning of zoning or rotation by impatiently advocating power shift to the North, the region can actually instal another northerner as president on account of its huge population and numerical voting strength.

Mustapha is wrong. But since he is not a student of Mathematics, Statistics and System Analysis, his outburst is pardonable. As a system, APC is characterised by a network of units that are interdependent. When a unit malnufunctions, the whole is disrupted. Indeed, as past periodic presidential elections have shown, no region or blocs of regions can exclusively instal the president without the strategic support of other zones. Also, no particular leader among the actors can exclusively claim that his efforts singularly led to group victory. It is always a collective effort achieved through team spirit.

But, the contributions of party chieftains were not equal. They came in diverse forms according to the differential capacities, talents, resources, pedigrees and resilience.

Mustapha was not too young or too remote from the activities of the legacy parties that surrendered their certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the condition of fusion or merger.

Before the 2015 polls, Buhari had contested thrice, but without success. His fanatical followership in the North was not in doubt. But the votes were insufficient to make him president in 2003, 2007 and 2011.

In 2003, Buhari’s running mate was the late Dr. Chuba Okadigbo. Yet, he was rejected by the Southeast. In 2007, the late Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke paired with him. It was futile. In 2011, he picked Tunde Bakare, lawyer and popular cleric without a formidable structure.

Buhari was defeated in the three elections, despite his patriotism, apathy to corruption and modest lifestyle. After the third round of defeat, he shed tears for Nigeria. He could not make the difference.

In 2003, President Olusegun Obasanjo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated Buhari of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) with over 11 million votes. Obasanjo had managed to secure the endorsement of the Southwest, unlike 1999 when they voted for Chief Olu Falae. Obasanjo polled 24,456,140 while Buhari got 12,710,022.

In 2007, the PDP candidate, President Umaru Yar’Adua, also defeated Buhari. He polled 24,638,063, which was over 69 per cent. Buhari got 6,605,299, a mere 18 percent. It must however, be noted that the poll was severely flawed as acknowledged by the winner.

Ahead of 2011, Buhari left the ANPP. Tthe leaders of the progressive bloc made overtures to him. But the discussion floundered. Although the General recognised inter-regional collaboration, he later picked a running mate who could not sufficiently mobilise his geo-political zone.

At the close of poll, Buhari of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) was defeated by President Goodluck Jonathan of PDP, who scored 22,495,187 votes, representing 58.8 percent. Buhari garnered 12,214,853 votes, representing 31.9 percent.

Reality consequently dawned on him that he needed help beyond the North to realise his ambition to rule the country. Suspicion between Buhari’s men and Tinubu/Akande group had to give way.

The correct history is that Tinubu, who became the moving spirit, visioner and arrowhead of the merger talks and movement offered a great leadership. He inspired other like-minded leaders from ACN, ANPP, CPC, a section of APGA and new-PDP to reason together in their collective determination to abort the dream of the PDP to loom large for the next 60 years.

Although the former military Head of State doubted whether the anticipated merger could see the light of the day, Tinubu raised a team of eight legal luminaries to visit Buhari in Kaduna and explain to him the possibility. He came up with the theory of cows that can never be permitted to escape from the slaughter’s slab. They are not meant to return once they enter. The implication of the fusion agreement is that having surrendred their certificates of registration, they cannot be retrieved by the legacy parties.

It was at that stage that Buhari’s bid for the highest office had a national outlook. Apart from galvanising the movement, Tinubu also made a sacrifice when the agreement to make him the running mate could not be honoured due to religious parity. His activities made the media to give him the title of the National Leader, which was never disputed by other party leaders in the strategic partnership.

The registration of the mega party set the stage for a titanic battle for power at the federal and state levels. It changed the political calculus. It was a major breakthrough. APC leaders achieved what the giants of history – the first generation of political leaders and their lieutenants – could not achieve in the First and Second republics.

The baby was also delivered without complication. The midwife, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which provided the atmosphere for safe delivery, said that the child birth was without a prolonged labour. Former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Prof. Attahiru Jega, also affirmed that the new platform met the requirements laid down by the constitution. The confirmation dismissed the claim of the brains behind the unregistered rival organisation that falsely laid claim to its acronym, the APC.

Tinubu, who became the vocal seller of the party, said APC was formed in the national interest. He explained that the leaders of the merging parties decided to forfeit their platforms, sink their slight differences and make sacrifice for the country.

Asiwaju Tinubu played a great role in the emergence of Buhari as APC candidate during the presidential primary at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

The campaign was rigorous. Tinubu and other compatriots and partners – Buhari/Tony Momoh, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Chief Rochas Okorocha and Dr. Bukola Saraki – were focussed and united by the push for change. But nobody among the leaders made greater financial commitment to the project. Besides, Asiwaju Tinubu was strengthened by his belief in zoning or rotation to foster cohesion, justice, national unity and peace.

For the first time in the history of presidential election in Nigeria, Buhari, the opposition candidate on the platform of APC defeated the PDP with more than 2.5 million votes. The power of incumbency collapsed. Buhari polled 15,424,921, representing 53.96 percent to defeat Dr. Jonathan, who got 12,853,162, representing 44.96 per cent.

The beat of political romance changed, shortly after the governent took off. Outside power, Tinubu could not play a major role in the Buhari administration, even in advisory capacity. But he remained committed to the administration and loyal to the party.

Around 2017, Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, former Transportation minister, during their consultation with the media in Lagos on the Buhari’s re-election bid, found out that the lion of Bourdillion could still roar. During the meeting at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, they were told to go back to Tinubu, if they actually wanted to know the accurate views of the Southwest or needed  the regional support.

Although Buhari had not attended Tinubu’s birthday in Abuja after his inauguration as president, he came to Lagos to attend the next one, following the consultation by the two APC chieftains. In Lagos, he showered praises on Tinubu, describing him as a strategist.

While Tinubu was not solely responsible for installing Buhari on the two occasions, he played outstanding roles that cannot be ignored by any honest historian.

If he had not initiated the idea of cross regional political collaboration, cooperation and understanding, Buhari would not have become president.

If Tinubu and his group had also pulled out when his vice presidential ambition crumbled due to religious factor, Jonathan would have retained power. Downplaying President Tinubu’s role smacks of intellectual dishonesty.

The sacrifices made by him were legendary. That was why God also made him to succeed Buhari in 2023.

It is gratifying that other northern patriots have stayed focus on President Tinubu’s re-election bid. The tone of internal opposition by the former men of power would not resonate with them.

The rantings at the book lunch were a deservice to truth and commonsense.

Tinubu, Southeast and Kalu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ partners

    By Mike Ukoha

Like whirlwind, the gospel of Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) is spreading across the length and breath of the southeast. It is gradually becoming a rallying point for a better Nigeria, with a clear vision and a mandate. This is a wonderful platform created by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CFR, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in his transformational leadership and tends to rally support for Mr. President’s second term in office. I am not surprised at the spate in which stakeholders in the southeast have been receiving this good news of hope and being partners since its unveiling late April, 2025. In fact, the clamour by many individuals to be part of  this noble vision is something that melts the heart. Interestingly, the movement of renewed hope partners is also gradually spreading across to other regions of the country. Love him or loathe him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains a visionary politician who has the knack for excellence in governance. His positive political advancement and democratic vision have brought about mind-blowing economic reforms in our dear country.

Just like Nostradamus, the French seer, President Tinubu seems to have seen the future from the outset and what democracy portends for Nigeria. He is really working on the talk and delivering on his mandate. Therefore, he deserves whatever support one might want to offer.

As a region, it is time for people of the southeast to lay back and think, in comparison between previous administrations and the present led government of President Tinubu in order to ascertain which one has so far touched their lives. For instance, in Tinubu’s administration, a Minister of Works from Igbo extraction was appointed. This is the first time in the history of Nigeria an Igbo man is being appointed in such a strategic position.

This administration,  also, considered the importance of regional balance in the appointment of Service Chiefs and again, some one from the Igbo extraction was appointed as Chief of Naval Staff, with numerous other appointments of well meaning people from the region into various federal positions on the boards, departments and agencies of government.

Above all, at the National Assembly level, the Deputy Speaker’s position was graciously zoned to the southeast. This is with regards to equity and fairness as exemplified by President Bola Tinubu.

Furthermore, since the end of the civil war in Nigeria, this is the first time in history the federal government saw the need to truly make the 3R’s vision of reconciliation, reconstruction and rehabilitation a reality.

The Managing Director of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), Mr. Mark Okoye corroborated this point during his briefing to mark the Commission’s 100 days in office. He had explained that “since the end of the Civil war in 1970, no Nigerian President Military or Civilian had granted the South East’s long standing request for a development commission which is focused on reconstruction and rehabilitation except President Tinubu who broke the 54 years jinx”.

Indeed, the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), which Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, sponsored,  championed, and lobbied under this administration, is the testament of President Bola Tinubu’s efforts towards addressing the challenges of the southeast region. There is a need for the Commission to go a step further by ensuring that the vision and plan for a $200 billion regional economy is achieved through  collaboration with the state governments and private sectors.

Despite the total rejection President Tinubu suffered in the southeast during the last election, he never used it as a yardstick against the region but merely saw it as a price one has to pay for a leadership role. He has ever since remained focused towards ensuring that the region is repositioned for good.

In addition, it is left for the people the southeast to key into the renewed hope vision of Mr. President by joining the Renewed Hope Partners and also embracing the developmental strides, which are gradually sweeping through the region under this administration for the betterment of all.

As the Renewed Hope Partners has been recently launched in Abia State, it is gradually gaining momentum; and in no distance future it will be launched in States such as Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra and across to other regions of the country. The vision is to see it being spread across the eastern states with strong based support. It has now become highly imperative for the region to join and become members of the Renewed Hope Partners and also help in promoting it in their states, at ward and unit levels and by doing so, the political dividends of the region will be much more.

Lastly, one good way of showing gratitude to President Tinubu on his numerous efforts for the people of Southeast is to key into his vision by joining forces with our dear brother, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CFR, in his Renewed Hope Partners and support President Bola Tinubu’s administration, bearing in mind that we have never had it so good in the past. As a people, partnering with Mr. President in his agenda through the Renewed Hope Partners will enable him to roll out more programs for the region as expected. It is said that one good turn deserves another, therefore our support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will never be in vain; even a furtherance to his second term agenda should never be a second thought at all for the people of Southeast. It should be a vision in which we must all ensure there’s huge support for it, and this is even as the region expects more from the federal government led administration.

As the Deputy Speaker is championing the cause and expanding the frontiers of the party and also winning the once doubting hearts back through the Renewed Hope Partners, we must join him in this political movement with courage for a paradigm shift in the Southeast.
