    Olurotimi Otedola grabs the spotlight

WHEN Otedola’s name is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is billionaire Femi Otedola. Other names that come to mind are former Lagos Governor, Sir Michael Otedola, Lady Doja Otedola, and Florence Otedola, aka, DJ Cuppy.

Little is known about Olurotimi Otedola, Doja’s and Michael’s third son, and Femi’s brother. But during the 90th birthday celebration of their mother, Olurotimi gave a good account of himself as an entertainer.

Olurotimi, who is the founder of Afrinero Music Band, thrilled guests with afrobeat. His performance came as a shock, as many people in the gathering had never watched him performing.

Olurotimi’s performance also indicated that music runs in the family. When Femi’s two daughters – DJ Cuppy and Tolani – turned to music, many did not understand where they got their interest from.

DJ Cuppy also flew in from the United Kingdom to entertain her grandma and guests. She performed her popular hit tracks ‘Who is your daddy’ and ‘Gelato.’

Femi’s first daughter, Tolani, was not left behind either. It was learnt that it was the first time her grandmother would see her perform, and she made it count.

The day will remain special to Lady Otedola, as she also dedicated a church built by her to God. She has also been a worker at St Peter’s Catholic Church, Odorangushi, Epe, Lagos, for years.

The university had last year notified the AIG of the honorary conferment of Doctor of Arts in National Security and Public Administration.

Since Odumosu was still in service at the time, a copy of the letter was forwarded to the Inspector-General of Police (IG) Alkali Usman for approval.

In letter signed by the Force Secretary, the IG congratulated Odumosu on the award and urged him to sustain those virtues that informed his being recognised.
