    CHIEF Oyekunle Alex-Duduyemi was one of the guests of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi on Tuesday, and it was an exciting outing.

    The Ooni hosted the business mogul at the Ife Royal Resort, showering him with praises and respect. He thanked him for all he has done for the Yoruba people and Nigeria as a whole.

    “God bless you, Baba, you will last long for us,” the Ooni said while he stood up to say goodbye.

    Dele Momodu, who also attended the meeting, said every soul should pray to be respected as the Ooni of Ife relates to Chief Alex-Duduyemi.

    The Ooni also used the opportunity to engage young entrepreneurs and leaders, urging them to express themselves freely.

    While celebrating the chairman of Northern Nigeria Flour Mills, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Osun State, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi prayed to Allah to grant him a longer life.

    “Happy 91st birthday. I wish you a longer life and prosperity in good health, peace of mind, joy and happiness with great wisdom of Allah. I love you so much,” he said.

    Aminu took over the Dantata Organization when his brother, Ahmadu, passed on. The family has hands in different businesses such as transportation, sugar production, oil & gas, properties management, securities and investments, fertilizer processing, and mining, among others.

    THE family of Obasa and Oniru came together to give their mother, 91-year-old Mama Felicia Ariyike Obasa, a befitting burial on Thursday,  May 8.

    Mama Obasa was a popular figure on Lagos Island and she touched many as a mother and a community leader.

    Mama Obasa was blessed with four beautiful children – Chief (Sir) Gbenga Obasa, Mrs Funke Soetan, Funmi Daramola-Oniru, and Dr. Segun Obasa.

    Chief Abayomi Daramola-Oniru, the Balogun of Iruland and husband of Mama’s third child, Funmi, said his late mother-in-law loved everyone equally.

    He admitted that he was afraid to approach Mama Obasa with his intention to marry her daughter because of their religious difference. He is a Muslim while his wife is from a Christian home.

    In Yorubaland, kings are forbidden to attend funerals but Oba Omogbolahan Lawal of Oniru, Lago, sent delegates alongside his staff of office. He also graced the reception ceremony held at TCC House on Lagos Island.

    FOR Oba Gbolahan Lawal of Oniru land, Lagos, the final burial ceremony of his mother, Olori Alhaja Muyinat Olabisi Abeni Lawal-Akapo, wouldn’t be easy without the support of family members, Lagos State government, and friends.

    While thanking everyone who stood by him, he said he had always said the joy of life is the gift of special moments and having special people to share them with.

    He reserved special thanks for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Deputy Governor Olufemi Hamzat, members of the Lagos House of Assembly, royal fathers, and other top dignitaries who graced the ceremony.

    “I do not take your support lightly since her (late mother) passing. We appreciate the condolence visits, letters, messages, and your presence at all the events and activities held in her honour.

    “May we live to a ripe age and enjoy the gift of celebrations in our lives and with our loved ones,” he said.

    Olori Lawal also prayed to Allah to continue to show mercy and favour to everyone who honoured her late mother-in-law’s 40 days in Lagos.

    Lawal-Akapo, who died at the age of 85 years in March 2021, was buried almost immediately according to Islamic rites.

    VETERAN actor, Akin Lewis, received a Lexus Jeep, two million naira, and a two-bedroom flat at the premiere of his new movie, ‘The Groom,’ at Mauve 21 Event Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State.

    Lewis has given 49 years of his life to the Nigerian movie, so the event was also seen as an opportunity to celebrate him.

    It was also gathered that the Chairman, TU-E Capital Investment, Chief Oluwatoyin Agidi, offered a scholarship to his daughter, Obaloluwa, to study in Canada, and donated a Toyota Corolla car to his wife.

    Although the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, could not make it in person, he was represented by the Elerinmo of Erinmo Kingdom, Oba Michael Odunayo Ajayi.

    Other personalities at the event included Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Prof. Bode Sowande, Chief Adeniran Adetoye, and singer Abass Akande Obesere.

    She also danced for her husband. She danced to D’banj’s ‘Fall in Love’ and Kizz Daniel’s ‘Oshe.’  She also tried to recite the lyrics to Fela.

    The couple also celebrated their 21st marriage anniversary recently. The ceremony was held at Pastor Paul Adefarasin’s House on the Rock.

    Adeola was installed as the Aremo of Yewaland by Olu Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Ogun State, Oba Keyinde Olugbenle.

    The conferment of the title is in recognition of his sustained persistent, uncommon passion and continuous support towards the growth and development of Yewaland

    Adeola’s wife was also installed as the Yeye Aremo of Yewaland by Oba Olugbenle.

    Others honoured with titles included Otunba Akeem Ade Adigun as the Apagunpote of Yewaland; Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun as the Oluomo of Yewaland; and former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Alhaja Salmot Badaru, as the Beere of Yewaland.

    The series has been getting a lot of attention since its release date was announced and this is not a surprise, considering Abudu’s past exploits in film production. She seems to know what Nigerians want. She did it with ‘Wedding Party’ featuring the now couple, Adesua Etomi and Banky W.

    The media entrepreneur is excited and optimistic that the series will make a huge impact. ‘Blood Sisters’ features Nollywood actors, including Kate Henshaw, Uche Jombo, Ramsey Nouah, Segun Arinze, Joke Silva, Nancy Isime, and Ini Dima-Okojie.

    As Tiwa Savage walked into the gallery for the photoshoot of my Coffee Table, Okundaye showered her with praises and prayers. She then said: “I owe you ‘adire,’ a real one.”

    The singer was grateful for the warm reception, saying thank you continuously to the art collector.

    The meeting was made possible by Azuka Ogujiuba of Media Room Hub. According to her, she thought Tiwa Savage would not make it any longer as she was scheduled to leave the country for a project.
