    Omotade-Odumosu’s status rises

Other than being the wife of Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, there is clearly more to Princess Folasade Omotade-Odumosu.

Due to her exploits as a businesswoman, she was recently conferred with an honorary Doctorate degree of Business Administration by the Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu, Osun State, at the school’s 9th convocation ceremony.

In a letter spotted by Social Circuit, Omotade-Odumosu, was honoured for her leadership in business, outstanding and exceptional successes, resilience and excellence.

Omotade was wife of Olaseni Omotade, a former permanent secretary, who died in the Bellview plane crash in 2005.

Despite giving marriage another shot, her late husband’s memories are still with her. On October 22, she shared beautiful words in memory of her late husband.

She wrote: “My late husband, my closest friend and confidant. Thank you for watching over our children from heaven, may your soul know everlasting peace.

“Happy birthday, My husband. I miss you more and more every day. Today, you are 70. I wish you were alive to see your children and celebrate with us, but God chooses the time we are ready to die and for you, it was 16 years ago. We wish you a happy birthday wherever you are and accept our best wishes.”

Adetola wished Ayo well, saying she had started on a very good note by carrying all the members along. He added: “She has started by exhibiting a high level of tolerance and has already been leading us in carrying out community activities. • Oba Osoja counts blessings

    Oba Osoja counts blessings

Many times, we often undervalue the grace we enjoy; we often forget that our success is not by our power or might. But the Onikogbo of Ikogbo Kingdom, Oba Nurudeen Osoja, does not appear to fall into this class.

While celebrating his 14 years on the throne of his forebears, Oba Osoja shared how he felt when he became a king.

He said: “The 24th day of November 2007 started with cheers of joy all over Ikogbo Kingdom and echoes of happiness everywhere there’s an Ikogbo print globally. I should flow with the moment and flaunt my new bragging right but I was drenched in thoughts; how smooth will it be? What lies ahead? How great can this kingdom become in my hands? Do I have divine backing?”

According to the king, it has been 14 years of grace and success as the kingdom is literally booming. Today, there is a functional police post, a standard market and a university is about to take-off.

He added: “Challenges encountered are enormous, experience garnered gives the feel of a century old journey but it has been worthwhile. A king installed by God and accepted by his people will always surmount his challenges. All glory and adoration to the owner of the heavens and the earth.”

    Akinbulu turns 10 in priesthood

The Spiritual Head of Agbo Igbala Zion Church of Christ, Ketu, Lagos, Rev Isaiah Adetunji Akinbulu, has reserved all praises to God as he celebrates a decade anniversary as a priest.

Thanking God for His goodness and mercy in the last ten years, he said God had really proved himself in the church.

He stated: “We have been able to reposition the church in terms of evangelism; we have demonstrated to society that our own white garment church is built on practical Christ doctrine as against the erroneous impression some people have about white garment churches.

“Ten years of the priesthood is a significant period sufficient enough to take stock and assess how far we have progressed with respect to our set objectives of propagating Christianity and more importantly, convincing the society that white garment church is not what the society thinks it is.”

As churches were largely affected by COVID-19, the clergy insisted that the pandemic did not come as a surprise because the spirit of God had revealed it to him but he did not know it would be severe.

He added: “The pandemic is as a result of sin. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The pandemic is meant to bring the world back to God like the prodigal son. Realistically, our body is the temple of God and Church is a place where we gather to worship God. The pandemic has not stopped us from serving God. It only deprived us of gathering together in one place to worship.”

Akinbulu advised that the Christmas and New Year celebrations should be low-key as a sober reflection. According to him, everyone needs to follow all COVID-19 protocols and beg God for forgiveness.

For the celebration, church ministers, relations, friends and Muslim brothers and sisters came to felicitate with Akinbulu. Guests also had the opportunity to share testimonies of the goodness of God in their lives.
