3SC allege plan by Kwara Utd fans to attack their players

KWARA UNITED: it is a lie and cheap media hype

SHOOTING Stars Sports Club(3SC) of Ibadan have alleged they have uncovered plans by some section of the Kwara United fans to attack their players before their Globacom Premier League Week 19 tie in Ilorin.

In a text message to SportingLife, the media officer of the Oluyole Warriors, Jubril Arowolo said they discovered this during their Saturday afternoon walkout at the Kwara State Stadium when fans alleged to be loyalists of Kwara United started raining curses on the players of 3SC when they cited them making their way into the pitch.

Arowolo alleged that the fans vowed to be more daring during the game today.

Quoting the text of Arowolo:”Shooting Stars have uncovered the grand plan by some section of Kwara United fans to attack the players tomorrow(today) before our Week 19 game against Kwara United in Ilorin.

“This much was discovered this afternoon(yesterday) when they cited the players and started raining curses with a threat to be more daring tomorrow(today).”

Reacting to the allegation made by 3SC, the head of protocol, Kwara United, Ademola Kiyesola described it as a mere media hype and effort by 3SC to create tension and panic where there is none.

He said Kwara State is a peaceful state and that Ilorin fans are law abiding and very peaceful too that will not reduce themselves to thuggery and hooliganism.

According to Kiyesola:” It is a lie and a complete media hype by 3SC to create tension and panic where there is none. We are peaceful people and Ilorin fans are among the best in the country. They cheer good football and even support away team if Kwara United is not doing well.”

  • 3SC target points in Aba

3SC head coach, Akeem Busari, has challenged his side to play with more confidence and freedom against former African champions, Enyimba, when they meet today in an NPFL Week 14 tie in Aba.

All eyes will be on the Ibadan club, who celebrated the appointment of Busari as the head coach of the side with a morale-boosting 2-0 defeat of Nasarawa United, as they seek to improve on their poor away record.

Busari told supersport.com that they would do their best to emerge from the encounter with The Peoples Elephant with a positive result.

“Enyimba is a big side with a proud history, just like us, so it is going to be a tough game,” Busari said.

“I know Aba is a difficult venue to visit, but we have prepared well and the boys are determined to turn a new leaf.

“I have told them to believe in themselves and remain disciplined, that it is the same thing whether at home or away.

“They must intensify their efforts if we are to be serious contenders in the league.

“We have seen our deficiencies and we’re working on them.”

3SC are 11th on the NPFL log, one place below Enyimba on goal difference. Both sides are on 19 points.

  • 3SC not under pressure

Shooting Stars new Head Coach Hakeem Busari insists he was never under any pressure in his first game and says he has a strong relationship with the entire team.

Busari was confirmed as the head Coach few hours before Nasarawa Utd’s match after eight years of assisting the 3SC erstwhile Coaches Philip Boamah, Franklin Howard, Mutiu Adepoju, Fatai Amoo and Festus Allen.

“It is not true that the players were under pressure after Heartland match, we understand what football is all about and the most important thing is how we bounced back against Nasarawa Utd. Coach Busari,” told futaa.com.

Already looking ahead, the 3SC Coach is setting an ambitious target of getting at least a point off Enyimba this weekend in Aba.

“We have all the players ready for the Aba show down against Enyimba, we are going on Friday with the determination to pick another point on the road,” Coach Busari firmly stated.

  • 3SC see off lively Nasarawa United

Ighodalor Osagona, who was wasteful on a number of occasions, redeemed himself with a spectacular bicycle kick goal in the 61st minute, when he connected another Ebiaku cross.

  • 3SC will make up against Nasarawa-Adegoke

3SC will make up against Nasarawa-Adegoke

3SC wing-back, Mutiu Adegoke believes 3SC would respond positively to their much publicised home loss to Heartland, when they play hosts to Nasarawa United in their NPFL Week 14 clash on Wednesday.

The Oluyole Warriors had a rather bad day, conceding two goals and losing their 100 percent record at the Adamasingba Stadium to the chagrin of their supporters.

Adegoke, who missed the match through suspension, told supersport.com that they are not contemplating anything else than victory against Nasarawa United as they intend to make up for the disappointing result.

“It is important that we put the Heartland loss behind us and focus on beating Nasarawa United. There is some pressure on the team to respond immediately and we intend to do so. The players have met and we are determined to make amends,” Adegoke said.

“Even though I didn’t play the match, it is not good to lose at home and we will be going all out for the three points against Nasarawa United. We have prepared well for the game, and I believe our efforts would be rewarded.”

Adegoke told supersport.com that a win against the Solid Miners would also help lift their confidence.

“We were doing well before the Heartland defeat and I’ve told my colleagues the only way forward is to recoup the lost points,” he reasoned.

  • Attack on coaches: Council boss begs 3SC fans

Following the uproar that trailed the home loss of Ibadan darling team 3SC to Heartland in a week 12 fixture of the Nigerian Professional Football League, a strong backer of the club and the Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan South/West Local Government, Taoheed Adeleke has pleaded with the furious fans to pardon the club’s technical crew.

The council boss, who witnessed the 0-2 humiliation suffered by the Oluyole Warriors at the hands of the Naze Millionaires at Lekan Salami Sports Complex, appealed to the fans to absolve the two head coaches of the team, Tunde Odubola and Akeem Busari of blame. Both men were subject of attacks from irate fans after the match over their perceived mistakes.

Despite that fact that the two coaches were assaulted after Wednesday’s match, most of the fans that watched the team’s training at the Adamasingba Stadium continued raining abuses on the coaches which Adeleke considered as a bad omen that, if not quickly addressed, can put a clog in the wheel of progress of the club this season.

”My appeal to our fans is to pardon our coaches so that they can concentrate at the job at hand and give us something to cheer again. All hope is not yet lost, we can still catch up and end with a good result at the end of the league. These are people that had given us good results before the Heartland game. It would be a bad idea to throw away baby with the bath water,” Adeleke said.

The council boss who had been purchasing and giving out 1,000 match tickets free to fans at 3SC’s home matches this season, however, urged the aggrieved followers of the team to not be dissuaded by the home loss but come out in large numbers to give their support to the team when it faces Nasarawa United this Wednesday.

3SC, who had been maintaining a clean home record prior to Heartland’s visit, are now placed 13th on the log and would need nothing but outright victory in the Nasarawa match in order to pacify the fans and restore their confidence.

  • 3SC put everything wrong against Heartland – Arowolo

3SC put everything wrong against Heartland – Arowolo

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan media officer, Jubril Arowolo has admitted that the Oluyole Warriors got their tactics wrong during their week 12 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) tie against Heartland FC of Owerri at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Wednesday.

The Naze Millionaires opened scoring in the 2nd minute thorough a beautiful header by Jolly Osas from a corner kick which stunned thousands of fans at the stadium.

To make matters worse for the Ibadan warlords, Ebere Odichie scored the second goal by heading home a cross from Ikechukwu Odichie in the 61st minute to end the game to 2-0.

In a chat with SportingLife, Arowolo said his side were unlucky during the game.

“It was a bad day for us and we put everything wrong during the game. It wasn’t that Heartland was too good in the match only that they took their chances. We were very unlucky,” Arowolo told said.

3SC secured its first away point of the season on Sunday during their week 11 league game against Sharks in Port-Harcourt.

Asked whether fatigue were responsible for the shock defeat, Arowolo said: “No, it wasn’t fatigue at all, we were meant to consolidate on the good results we got against Sharks. We had good game in Port-Harcourt but we didn’t play the way we play against Sharks.

“If we had played the way we played in Port-Harcourt, Heartland would have been in trouble. Gbolahan was not played against Sharks but he was in action on Wednesday against Heartland and we still lose the game that is to tell you that it was our off day. We couldn’t blame anybody for the defeat but just to accept it like that.”

The club image-maker has however apologised to the club supporters over the loss, promising to pay them back with good results in their subsequent matches.

“We want to appologise to our fans. They felt bad about the outcome of the game and we understand their feelings. We have put that behind us and we are now focusing on our next match. We still have many matches to play. If Heartland can come to Ibadan and beat us that means we can go anywhere and win too. We will make up for the points we lose and we are going to make our fans happy again,” he assured.
