    3SC admit Ikhana’s attack

The management of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), has admitted regrettably the beating up of Enyimba technical adviser, Kadiri Ikhana.

Reports had it that the former Nasarawa United coach was attacked by yet-to-be-identified men after a goalless draw in an NPFL match day 13 clash in Ibadan.

An official of the side, Jubril Arowolo, said the management has confirmed the off-the-pitch attack on Ikhana after thorough investigation and has mapped out a plan to fish out the culprit for punishment.

“We have confirmed the alleged attack on Enyimba head coach, Kadiri Ikhana, by disgruntled elements. This was after a thorough investigation from various quarters and concerted efforts are ongoing to apprehend the culprit(s).

“The person(s) will be immediately handed over to the police for prosecution aimed at deterring and discouraging any would-be attackers. We wondered what could have prompted the assault on Ikhana with the friendly way the visitors were applauded on arrival and after the game. We want to submit that the attack must have been sponsored by person(s) bent on bringing the name of the club to disrepute.

“We have reached out to Enyimba to express our displeasure with what happened as well as assured that no effort will be spared toward arresting the offender(s).

“Enyimba have been helpful in our effort to identify the person(s) involved, both clubs are brothers and we will stop at nothing to protect the long-standing and healthy relationships,” said Arowolo to supersport.com.

The shared points against Enyimba have taken 3SC’s total earnings to 13 from a possible 39 with a match at hand against Warri Wolves.

3SC eye point at Nasarawa Utd

3SC goalkeeper, Kola Ige has said his side will earn their first point of the season at Nasarawa United.

The Oluyole Warriors will be the guests of the Solid Miners in Sunday’s Glo Premier League match day 4 encounter at the Lafia Township Stadium.

Ige said his side have gone the extra mile to prepare adequately with the  aim  of ending their winless streak so far at the ongoing league season. “We’re training hard at resuming our campaign with at least a point at Nasarawa United in Lafia on Sunday. We have rested during the break and we pray things will change for the better .

“Of course, we quite understand the encounter will be difficult but we’re condemned to salvage something positive for ourselves. We believe that if Heartland could come down here to Ibadan to grab three maximum points at our expense it’s quite possible, too for us to go to Lafia to earn a decent result.

“Further poor results will practically kill our morale going ahead in our comeback to the topflight so we must fight hard to avoid such occurrence,” said the former Flying Eagles shot stopper to supersport.com.

The Ibadan-based side are yet to earn a point in the three-week old Nigerian topflight though with a game at hand against Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars.
