  • How Pastor Adeboye prayed for me before chopper crash – Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has revealed how the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, prayed for him night before the Saturday chopper crash in Kogi State.

He made the revelation on Sunday while giving testimony at the RCCG, City of Grace, Lokoja, Kogi State.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo said “On Friday, we went to (RCCG) camp; usually, I attend our Holy Ghost service. We came in very late from Akwa Ibom State. In fact, we arrived just in time for the grace at the end of the service.

“Thereafter, our daddy in the Lord, (G.O) Pastor Adeboye, wanted to speak to me. He asked me how things were going on, the campaign activities and all that, and I explained everything; what I was doing on the campaign trail and all of that, some of the challenges.

“He then said, I am going to pray for you. He said a prayer that turned out to be very interesting because usually, as you know, he doesn’t pray for long.

“He said “Lord God Almighty, I want you to protect this man,” He said it three times and paused, then he continued. “You know how very dear he is to my heart. I want you to protect him.” I found it very funny that he repeated it several times and then he prayed for favour and other things.

“So, when the crash happened, immediately it dawned on me that the Lord God had led him to say that very special prayer. And the Lord God Almighty delivered us in accordance with His word that, “even when 10,000 fall by our side, no harm whatsoever will come near us.”

“I just want to thank the Almighty God for His grace and mercy that has been so abundant in my life and in all of our lives who are here,” he added.

Earlier, the Vice President had called up members of his entourage who were with him in the Chopper and who were in the church to join him at the altar.

They included Labour Minister of State, Stephen Ocheni; and Mr. Femi Osinbajo, VP’S elder brother. He also called the names of Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Special Adviser; and Ambassador Abdullahi Gwary, SSA Foreign Affairs/Protocol – although both of them were not in the service.

Others are Mr. Laolu Akande, the VP’s Spokesman; Dr Biodun Adelowo, Personal Physician; Mr. Doyin Adetuberu, Security Officer; and Ayoola Oladunni, ADC).

“This is my older brother, the same father, same mother. Our father passed on long ago, but our mother is alive. If both of us had lost our lives on the same day, that would have been an absolute tragedy, but God saved that from happening.

“We are truly grateful to the Almighty God and we bless the name of the Lord. And for all of you who are rejoicing with us today, your homes will be filled with rejoicing. You will not know tragedy, you will not know harm, all the days of your lives will be filled with rejoicing,” he said.

  • Adeboye canvasses living wages for workers

General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye has appealed pay workers living wages.

He lamented the sorry state of the economy has impoverished many workers, forcing them to become desolate.

Adeboye spoke at the annual thanksgiving and prayer of the church’s National headquarter Throne of Grace Parish, Ebute-Metta last Sunday in Lagos.

He expressed reservations on the discordant tones of governors on implementation of the new national minimum wage.

He also pleaded with workers to be patient with the government during ongoing discussions.

The General Overseer, who spoke through the Assistant General Overseer (RCCG), Personnel and Administration Pastor Johnson Odesola, also seized the occasion to call on the federal government to do what the end and  the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.

He said it was distasteful that undergraduates couldn’t resume in the New Year owing to the industrial action.

He asked relevant authorities to upgrade education budget for national progress.

“The more the lecturers and those involved stay at home, the more the development of Nigeria is put on hold.

“By this time in the nation, we should not even be talking on incessant strike but be critically looking into how to increase the budget on education in line with what goes on in the developed nations.

“Nigeria has come of age to be investing highly on projects bordering on technological advancement and should stop living in yesteryear.  This is a concern for true and patriotic Nigerians,” he stressed.

Adeboye called on politicians to toe the line of peace in the coming election and remember to jettison the idea of do or die.

He reminded them under the normal circumstance, they are not to force themselves on the electorates under democracy as the electorates would only vote for the candidates of their choice.

  • Adeboye, Oyedepo, Olukoya: Nigeria’ll come out stronger from challenges

NIGERIANS should look into the New Year with hope. The year, prominent church leaders said in their predictions, will be good for the country.

According to them, the nation will come out from the general elections unscathed and stronger, despite the challenges and fears being entertained.

The clerics – Bishop David Oyedepo, pastors Enoch Adeboye and Daniel Okukoya – spoke on Monday night during the cross-over services in their respective churches.

Dr. Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (aka Winners Chapel) Ota, declared that nothing will tamper with the peace of Nigeria in 2019.

He stressed that Nigeria shall see no more bloodshed or war in the New Year.

He said: “The prince of peace will continue to dominate in Nigeria and Africa. We shall not see setbacks anymore. Because of the saints of God in this country, Nigeria shall remain safe. The year 2019 shall be a year of humbling testimonies.”

At the cross-over service at the Prayer City on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Dr. Olukoya, who is the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), described 2019 as “a strange year characterised by strangeness.”

Describing 2019 as a year of “supernatural ease and double honour,” Olukoya declared that forces working against Nigeria shall be buried.

Leading a prayer session against forces of darkness in the land, Olukoya said: “Any power planning war in Nigeria, die now. Glory of Nigeria, do not slumber, arise and shine.

“Angelic carpenters, arise in your fury, break the horns of the wicked assigned to destroy Nigeria.

“Every utterance and pronouncement against Nigeria, scatter. Let the coven of terror become desolate and let no dwell in them.”

Pastor Adeboye, who is the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), gave his prophecies in “coded language.”

Speaking at the Redemption Camp, Kilometre 48, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Pastor Adeboye explained that he decided to give “coded” prophecies to forestall the possibility of politicians twisting his words.

He said that being an election year, whatever he said could be twisted by politicians to sway the unsuspecting members of the public.

According to him, “as the year was running to an end, as usual, I sought the face of the Lord for what the New Year was going to look like.

“But then, we have a little problem. The little problem is that in Nigeria, this is the election year, anything I say will be twisted by who? By the politicians.

“So, Lord I want to know what the New Year is going to be like and yet I am afraid that if you tell me, and I tell them, it will be twisted.”

As usual the “coded” messages were categorised into prophecies for the nation, individuals, the RCCG and international.

Adeboye quoted a passage in Lamentation to the effect that Nigeria won’t be consumed because of the Lord’s mercies.

  • Adeboye allays fears on 2019

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye has calmed nerves over the forthcoming general elections.

The exercise, he said, will not mar the nation because God will be in charge.

He also called on Nigerians to take advantage of the festive period to imbibe the spirit of peace and love for one another.

He spoke through the Assistant General Overseer, Administration and Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola, during the Christmas programme tagged: Go-A-Fishing that attracted about 15,000 worshippers at Centre for Management Development (CMD), Lagos.

According to him: “Nigeria belongs to God and the coming election is in His hands which call for assurance that there is nothing to be afraid of.

“The world is very surprised that despite the challenges of Boko Haram and our state of economy, the nation still evolved as the biggest economy in Africa.”

He called on politicians to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and not promise what they would not be able to deliver during campaigns.

He also reminded them that ruling is not by force under ‘democracy’ which Nigeria is practising.

He told them to jettison the spirit of ‘do or die’ affair and communicate this to their followers since under democracy.

He called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of humility, love, obedience and forgiveness which were all virtues that Jesus Christ came to manifest.

  • Osinbajo, Gowon, Adeboye in Abuja for Christmas Praise Concert

VICE PRESIDENT Yemi Osinbajo hosted yesterday the 2018 Christmas Praise Concert at the old Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja.

Dignitaries at the concert included the former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye delivered the Christmas message at the concert.

He centred his message on John chapter 14, verse 6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

According to him, Jesus Christ is the way into freedom, Jesus Christ is the way out of problems, Jesus Christ is the way forward, Jesus Christ is the way upward, and Jesus Christ is the way where there is no way.

    He cited John 8:32, John 8:36, Mark 5: 1-15, Luke 7: 11-15, Luke 5: 1-7, John 12: 32, John 11:39-44.

The cleric also prayed for better 2019 and peaceful elections in 2019.

Lesson 4 was taken from Luke 2:1-7 by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha.

State House Chaplain Pastor Joseph Malomo led prayers for the leaders of the country, peace and no blood shed in the country during the festive season, and prayers for 2019

The concert featured Aso Villa Chapel Children Choir, Hallelujah Nigeria Non-Stop Praise Team, The Praise Chorale Lagos, Plateau State Unity Choir, Blessing Ilagha and D-Boys, Gloria Braimah and Solomon Lange, Pastor Kunle Ajayi.

It was attended by the Vice President’s wife, Dolapo, governor Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Godwin Obaseki (Edo) and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) as well as members of the diplomatic corps.

  • I am not God, Adeboye declares

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has warned people using his pictures and those of his wife for various souvenirs being sold across the country to kindly desist from such act as he is not God. Adeboye said this on Friday at the ongoing annual Holy Ghost Congress of the church holding at the Redemption Camp, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The event brought together Christian faithful from 197 countries.

“It has been brought to my notice that people are using my picture and that of my wife on key holders, calendars, books and other souvenirs.  This is wrong and anyone found with such materials should be arrested and reported to the police. I am not God. I did not send them. I have nothing to do with those materials. I am an ordinary man of God. God will never share his glory with any man. I am not ready to die. Devil, I am not ready to go,” Adeboye declared.

He noted that what they are doing can lead to serious trouble, not for them, but for him. “If at any time, God is sensing that a man is trying to share his glory, the man is dead,” Adeboye said, adding that whether the devil likes it or not, he is not going anywhere yet. He added that “if you find anyone selling  anything whatsoever with my picture or my wife’s, report them to the police immediately.”

He noted that recently a woman bought a key holder with his picture and his wife’s inscribed on it and gave it to her child and the child began to eat the key holder and in no time, the picture pasted on the key holder removed and surprisingly what they found was the picture of another tele evangelist, Prophet T. B Joshua. “I know you all know what that means. Please stop and cooperate,” he pleaded.

He challenged the worshipers to continue to live their lives in accordance with God’s word. During the prayer session, wife of the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Folu Adeboye, lamented the spate of killings, occultism and wickedness being perpetuated by today’s youth, saying it calls for national repentance and a conscious appeal to God for forgiveness, if Nigeria will ever be great again.

  • Adeboye assures Nigerians of God’s glory at Holy Ghost Congress

REDEEMED Christian Church of God (Worldwide) General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has assured Christians and by extension, Nigerians, of God’s glory as long as they are ready to turn to Him in full repentance.

Adeboye, who spoke during the opening service of 2018 Holy Ghost Congress with the theme: “Glory Ahead” at the Redemption Camp, Km 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, said the opposite of glory is shame.

The cleric said the Almighty God, who created everything and man in his own image destined at the beginning that He would always identify with man with His glory, “so that man would live no life of shame but rather be alive to manifest His glory”.

Adeboye, who began the six-day programme with the message, “A New Name”, assured Nigerians, who are ready to turn to God with their hearts that as soon as one turns to God, “God gives the individual a new name that would pave way for the person to enjoy God’s glory and manifold blessings”.

The cleric made reference to the scriptures, where God called people and to fully identify with them, gave them new names that would actualise their destinies.

He mentioned  Abram that God gave a new name, ‘Abraham so that he would fulfill his destiny as father of many nations”.

He said: “When one comes to God with all his heart in full repentance through Jesus Christ we are celebrating this month, the individual’s sins would be forgiven, he or she would be washed in the Blood of God’s son, Jesus Christ, and get back his or her lost glory.  Again, this becomes very necessary because the Bible says that:  ‘All have sinned and come short of the glory of God’.

“Since God is no respecter of persons and has also said that both individuals and nations that forget God would be eventually turned to hell, he would always welcome anyone that turns his or her back at sin and embrace Jesus, the Lamb of God that took away the sins of the world as God Himself does not delight in the death or peril of a sinner, but for him to repent and live.”

Quoting from the Bible, Adeboye described anyone that belongs to Jesus Christ as the Light of the world and assured that anyone who is in Christ Jesus is full of light that would always scare his or her enemies.

He described one who has God as His Father as the salt of earth, who would always bring joy to his or her family, his or her company and by extension, his or her nation like Philip in the Bible, who went down to Samaria and the entire city was filled with joy.

Adeboye also noted that new name given by God would always come with new responsibilities.

  • Adeboye promises turnaround at RCCG Congress

MILLIONS of people from around the world will from tomorrow pour into the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) for 2018 Congress with the theme “Glory ahead.”

The six-day inter-church event ends on Saturday.

The church has strong presence in 197 countries around the world, from where members are expected to attend the Congress.

This year’s Congress is the 21st in the series, having started in 1998 in Lekki with a massive attendance that nearly brought Lagos to a standstill.

General Overseer RCCG Worldwide Pastor Enoch Adeboye said: “I assure you in the name of the one who is called the King of Glory and the source of all that is truly glorious that your life will never be the same after this Congress.

“When God showed a little of His Glory to Moses, his face shown so brightly that people could not get close to him. He had to wear a veil to cover his face. Moses’ life was never the same again.

“When also the cloud descended, the Glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle; and when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys.”

Adeboye will be leading dozens of other ministers of God from all over the world.

To handle the huge congregation without any incident, the organizers have made efforts to ensure the safety and comfort of all worshippers.

Power and water supplies have witnessed significant improvements over the years.

The Congress has always also been characterised by miracles, signs and wonders; and the anointing of mantles like handkerchiefs, which believers have used for healing miracles and even raising the dead.

  • Adeboye challenges Nigerians on contentment

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye has challenged Nigerians to imbibe the values of love, contentment and peaceful co-existence to foster national development.

Adeboye stated this last week at the special thanksgiving and prayer for tenants, landlord, estate developers, orphans, widows, jobless and their families at RCCG Headquarters, Throne of Grace Parish, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

The service tagged divine visitation attracted thousands of Christians with traditional rulers and public servants in attendance.

He lamented many Nigerians were not abiding by the scriptural injunction to be contented once food and clothing had been taken care of.

Adeboye pointed out covetousness has taken over the lives of many people who lust to have everything to themselves as if they can ride two cars or where two clothes at the same time.

Speaking through The Assistant General Overseer of RCCG on Administration and Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola, Adeboye blamed covetousness on inordinate ambition and desire to have everything, including those things that are not needed or would not add significant value to one’s life.

He also described “security” as a factor that guarantees peace, joy and contentment, noting that true security, of course, comes from God only.

According to him: “Man completely believing in himself to provide full security for his family would end up as a failure because no matter how strong a man is, he would fall asleep but there is only one person who neither sleeps nor slumber, but ever awake to protect those who have absolute trust in Him”.

He posited further that a house becomes a home where all these factors of contentment, peace, security and joy are prevalent.
