Things will get hotter before cooling – Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has advised Nigerians not to hold out hope for an immediate end to the country’s current suffering.

He said this while delivering prophecies for the year 2024 at the Church’s Cross Over Service held at the Church’s new auditorium in Simawa Ogun state.

The General Overseer said: “Everything God is saying is centred around that little sentence; The wind is blowing, include in your prayers that the wind will blow you good.

“As far as Nigeria is concerned my beloved children, things will get worse before they get better. Things will get a little hotter before it will cool down.

“Because the wind is blowing, some serious secrets will come to the open. The elders have a saying that ‘when the wind blown the anus of the chicken will be exposed.”

However, the cleric advised Nigerians not to lose hope ‘because the wind is blowing also mean things will get better’.

Regarding personal prophesies, Pastor Adeboye advised his congregants to prepare themselves to seize the numerous possibilities that will present themselves to them this year.

“Some people will start as nobody but will become significant before the end of the year,” he said.

Olugbon: I didn’t vacate my seat for Adeboye

The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao, has denied vacating his seat for the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, at the church’s evangelism programme at Orile-Igbon last Friday.

Criticism had trailed a photo which circulated on social media at the weekend showing the priest sitting on a royal chair on which the monarch’s name and title were inscribed at the event.

Some people argued that the photo showed that Oba Alao surrendered his throne to the preacher, describing it as an insult to Yoruba culture.

But in a statement in which he also felicitated Christians on the occasion of this year’s Christmas, the monarch took cognisance of the social media brouhaha, explaining  that the said chair was only one of the royal chairs at the palace that were offered to dignitaries like presidents, governors and persons of Pastor Adeboye’s status.

He said his name and title are inscribed on all the royal chairs.

The monarch said there is no need to misinterpret a simple act of giving honour to whom it is due, stressing that his personal traditional chair cannot be given to any other person due to its spiritual and historical significance.

    • Adeboye: Internet users fume

Following a viral picture of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, spotted sitting on the throne of the Olugbon of Orile Igbon in Oyo state, Oba Francis Alao Akinbola, social media users have continues to react.

The picture was posted on X by the RCCG Public Relations officer and has since then triggered reactions from internet users.

Some condemned the man of God for sitting on the monarch’s throne, while others criticised the king for allowing that to happen.

Reposting the photo on X on Sunday, an X user, animolenikun, wrote: “PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE stop disgracing our heritage, do your things and respect our culture pls. Don’t tarnish the name you have built, because if Yoruba stands up against all this act, you’ll surely regret it, sir.

“My stand on this is that Baba Adeboye is doing this intentionally to ridicule the Yoruba Obaship. If you feel disgusted about it as Omoluabi this is time for you to speak up. This is an abomination.”

Niass204 also wrote on X, “I don’t have him to blame I blame our so-called Obas who decide to subject themselves to ridicule. Why would an Oba vacate his sit for him to sit on? That means HE the Olugbon doesn’t have respect for that seat.”

Commenting on the post, another tweep, HilawJamal1891 wrote: “I feel the blame should be placed under the feet of Olugbon…on what basis would he stand up off his throne for Baba Adeboye? He should be dethroned with immediate effect.”

Posting the picture on Facebook, Deyemi Saka wrote: “I see nothing but pride in Pastor Adeboye. If he is as humble as you all claim, he would have declined this offer/gesture.”

One Oyebolaji Collins Adewale also commented, “Adeboye is an ordinary man and not a god, but he has placed himself in the position of a god by sitting on the throne of a traditional king. It is not in doubt that God comes first but Adeboye is not god.”

Amidst the knocks against the pastor and the monarch, some other social media users hold a different opinion.

Tweeting on X, Adeshorpeh0912 wrote: “If God said, kings will bow before you, the thought of man and its opinion doesn’t concern God. It is going to happen. This is a living testimony.

    No dey whine God.”

On Facebook, Kaayleb Ihasabemon also wrote: “The Bible says we are Kings with Christ who’s the King of kings, so we can sit on any throne. Baba is in order, don’t work yourselves out with trivialities.”

Protesting, cursing Nigerian leaders fruitless, pray for them – Adeboye

Pastor Richard Adeboye, the pastor in charge of Redeemed Christian Church of God‘s Region 12, has urged more people to pray for the nation’s leaders to overcome the variety of difficulties and problems.

Adeboye stated that Nigerians should rely on prayer as a tool for a desired turnaround for the sake of the nation, as opposed to complaining and condemning them as they had in the past without any positive result.

The cleric said this in an interview with reporters at this year’s Halleluyah Mega Praise Night, Season 2, which had the theme “Dominion” and was hosted at Shimawa High School in Ogun state.

He said: “There is no nation like Nigeria. The fact that we are still surviving is a symbol that God has created this nation in a very unique way and very soon, we shall shout victory at last.

“Nigerians should stand in the place of responsibility, because I have this philosophy that every possibility of God is compelled by the responsibility of man. Let’s do what we’re supposed to do.

“Let’s move closer to God. And let’s believe in God and whatever we need to do physically, let’s do it. We’re not saying we should protest or fight against the government. We have done that in the past, we didn’t win the battle.

“The Bible says that the heart of the king is in the hand of God. If only we could talk to God that put them there, I believe things will change and very soon, it will change for the better.

“My message to our leaders is that they should recognise the one that actually put them on the throne. We should stop fighting our leaders. The role of the church is to preach righteousness and establish integrity. If the world sees that what we preach is what we are doing, I believe it will go round and it will be contagious, and very soon, everybody will be affected.”

Adeboye: Why I didn’t stop Pastor Ghandi from becoming Soun Ogbomoso

The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has disclosed that he did not stop Pastor Ghandi Olaoye from vying for the Soun of Ogbomoso’s stool because he had been ordained a king before he was born.

Olaoye was a senior pastor in RCCG before he was selected and approved for the Soun’s stool.

He will receive his staff of office as the 21st Soun of Ogbomoso on Tuesday, December 19.

Adeboye explained his position while delivering a sermon at the interdenominational coronation service for the new monarch at Beulah Baptist Conference, Ogbomoso on Sunday, December 17.

The cleric recalled that when Oba Olaoye came to inform him about his idea, he encouraged him because he knew that he was actually born to be a king.

He said he asked Oba Olaoye to go and pray about it but that he came back after some time that he didn’t hear anything from God about it.

He said he asked him to go and pray again because he wanted God to speak to him directly so both of them would be clear that God wanted him to be king.

He said Olaoye later came back to inform him that God had confirmed that he should join the race.

Adeboye said: “It was then that I told him to go ahead because it has been destined. I knew that long ago but I wanted God to speak to him directly.

“To my critics, if I had said No and God said Yes, whose word is the final? God, of course. So I cannot stop him because Pastor Ghandi was destined to be a king even before he was born and thank God it is coming to fruition.”

Taking his scripture from Acts 15:18, the respected cleric counselled the monarch to embrace people and promote peace and unity among his subjects.

Thereafter, he anointed Oba Olaoye annd his wife and prayed that his reign would be peaceful and prosperous.

In his speech, the monarch described Adeboye as his spiritual role model and a father indeed.

He said: “Pastor Adeboye has been a father to me. It is an unforgivable sin if you report me to Pastor Adeboye. I don’t like people reporting me to Pastor Adeboye. We have gone to the whole world together and I have watched him closely and I see a genuine man of God.

“I am happy today that the person who laid hands on me to become a pastor is the same who anointed me when I became king.

“To my people in Ogbomoso, let us work together. Let us develop this land and let us make this land a place where our sons and daughters will be proud of. I believe it is a new dawn for Ogbomoso.

“I Will be a king to the Christians , Muslims and traditional worshippers. I will be a king to every son and daughters of this land. That is my strength and I believe that God will give me the grace to lead His people. I want everybody in this land to pray for me so that I will live aright.”

Special prayers were also offered by the President, Nigerian Baptist Convention Rev Dr. Israel Akanji; Bishop Titus Olayinka; Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu and Pastor J. S. Adegoke.

Others are Rev. Dr. Ademola Isola; former President of the Baptist Seminary Prof. Nihinlola Emiola; Rev. Stephen Ola Ayankeye; Bishop Olayinka Moradeyo; Rev. Johnson Adeniji and Prophet Akintola, among others.

Adeboye, Makinde, Aboyeji ask Nigerians not to despair

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has charged Nigerians not to despair or lose hope as the glory of the country will be restored soon, and there will be rest on every side.

Adeboye made this known at the 68th annual Convention of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, held recently at the Foursquare Camp Ground, Ajebo, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

The programme tagged: ‘Rest on Every Side,’ had thousands of Christian faithful from across the country, featured prayer sessions, word rendition, prophetic ministration, novelty match, and the launching of a Police Station at the Foursquare Camp Ground.

Adeboye, who was represented by the Continental Emeritus and Former National Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Joseph Obayemi, said that “for Nigeria, God is wiser than men, and as the Heaven is higher than the earth so God’s thoughts are higher than man. No matter what is happening in Nigeria, Nigeria will still have her glory and God will restore the country to a glorious height.”

He reiterated the support and partnership of the church in instituting developmental strides across the country, which according to him has helped to alleviate the sufferings of the homeless, destitute, drug addicts, and hapless citizens across the country.

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde implored Nigerians to remain steadfast, believe in God, and work hard in our quest to move the nation forward.

Makinde, who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwoye said, ”Yes, we know that things are difficult with the subsidy removal, and floating of the exchange rate, but we are saying that we should be steadfast, believe in God, and work hard to move the nation forward.”

Makinde called for greater synergy between the religious institutions and the government in moving the state and the nation forward.

The General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Pastor Sam Aboyeji, who was elated at the success of the programme with records of testimonies and healings, said that there was hardly any area of life in this country that there is no turmoil, chaos or crisis. The only solution to it is the rest that comes from God.

He charged Nigerians in dire need of rest to recognize God as the only person who can give rest. “As a nation, we need to call on God and desist from evil. God is a God of mercy, he will forgive us and come to take over this nation and give us rest on every side.”

    ‘Adeboye is Baale of Idioyin-Imoke’

The Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Rural Development has ordered Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area to affirm Chief Saheed Adeboye as Baale of Idioyin-Imoke community in Ibeju-Lekki.

There was crisis in the community after two monarchs were installed. Adeboye was appointed Baale in 2015 by former Onibeju of Ibejuland, the late Oba Olusegun Salami, while a factional Baale, Moruf Apena, was installed in March 2023 by the monarch of Araromi, Oba Gbadewolu.

But the ministry, via a September 4 circular, affirmed Adeboye as the rightful Baale. It also directed the council and Oba Gbadewolu not to recognise or install another.

The circular, signed by L.A Folami, on behalf of the permanent secretary, reads: “The incumbent Baale, Chief Adeboye Omotayo, is the recognised Baale of Imoke town. Any other installation is null and void. The content of this circular should be adhered to as any contrary act will attract necessary sanctions.”

Meanwhile, Adeboye has petitioned the Zone 2 Police headquarters, alleging that Apena is still parading himself as Baale and using his (Adeboye’s) customised car number plates to deceive the public.

The November 15 petition reads: “I would like to inform you and the Lagos State government and Lagos Police Command that an impostor, Moruf Apena, has been parading himself as the Baale of Imoke. He has also been deceiving the people with the inscription of Imoke 1 and Oni Imoke 1 on his car number plates.”

But Apena said: “I don’t know what Adeboye is talking about. Doesn’t he know his boundaries? Is he the owner of Imoke and why is he angry about me using car number plates? Let him sue me in court if he has any case against me.”

Align with God for accelerated progress, Adeboye tells Nigerians

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has advised Nigerians to connect with God so that the country and the citizens can experience accelerated progress.

Adeboye said this yesterday during the monthly thanksgiving service at the RCCG headquarters at Ebute Meta in Lagos, where he spoke on the theme: Divine Acceleration.

The general overseer, who described the opposite of accelerated promotion as accelerated demotion, said the time has come for Nigerians to experience a shift from struggling to prosperity with abundant blessings.

“Nigerians should humble themselves, like the failed fisherman in the bible who, after toiling throughout the night caught nothing, obeyed the instruction of Master Jesus to move away from the shores and launch into the deep; who humbly obeyed and caught so many fishes that the net broke.

“Nigerians should also learn about humility from King Nebuchadnezzar who was warned. But for refusing to heed the warning by putting himself in the place of Almighty God to be worshipped, he became an animal and had to eat grass in the forest for seven years, which was nothing but accelerated demotion.

“Nigerians as well as the country can experience accelerated promotion if they can humble themselves, cooperate with Him and appreciate the greatest sacrifice for mankind, which no man can make by the gift of His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, who took our place on the cruel cross and believed,” Adeboye said.

Also, the Parish Pastor at the Throne of Grace, Adebayo Adeyemo, said if Nigerians can trust God, align with His will, the country and the citizens would experience accelerated promotion.

He added that if Nigerians could give the current administration a chance, as the dollar has started to depreciate, every challenge mitigating against the progress of the country would be surmounted and the economy would progress.

I expect Pastor Adeboye to call out, curse Nigeria’s ‘enemies’ – DJ Switch

Popular Disc Jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh aka DJ Switch has highlighted her expectations from the pastor and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

In a tweet, she expressed her desire for Adeboye to consistently address individuals accountable for Nigeria’s challenges and those who have shown ineffectiveness in serving the nation, instead of solely encouraging citizens to pray for the country.

She tweeted: “Pastor Adeboye constantly urging Nigerians to pray for Nigeria… but rarely calls out the cause of Nigeria’s woes! Rarely calls them out for a failure to serve. The Jesus you worship served and called out corruption point blank! Some of una go say touch not my anointed! Anointing wey no dey anoint.”

DJ Switch’s post followed a few hours after the 81-year-old cleric on the occasion of Nigeria’s Independence on Sunday, October 1, passionately prayed for the country that God would heal the nation and give her a new beginning.

During his ministration on “Freedom Indeed” on Sunday, October 1, at the RCCG Headquarters, the Throne of Grace, Ebute-meta, he prayed for the nation, political leaders, leaders of different parastatals, judiciary, government functionaries, prisoners and captives (both physical and spiritual) with their families, admonished Nigerians to seek for true and total freedom.

He asserted that since man is composed of a spirit, a soul, and a body and that he is a spirit or a soul residing in a body, according to the scriptures, he is a tripartite entity who can be subjugated in any of his three parts.

Following DJ Switch’s post, an X user, Eneojo chided her, wondering if she anticipated the man of God to curse the country.

He tweeted: “You expect him to curse the country like you?? No negative vibes here Carey your bad luck dey where you dey.”

Responding to Eneojo, the entertainer insisted she expected Adeboye to actually lay curses on inept leaders culpable for the ills bedeviling the nation and causing many of its citizens’ untold hardship.

She wrote: “@photoriichy86 I expect him to curse the people that have plunged Nigeria into the deep poverty, corruption, lawlessness, backwardness, thuggery, terrorism and suffering many Nigerians are experiencing but because your brain is the size of a lint, I understand that you can only think in strands.

“Maybe spend some time, do some light reading to better to enhance your cognitive skills… only then can you begin to grasp the concept that a knife can either be a tool or a weapon! It all depends on who’s handling it. Happy dependence day!”
