  • AXA Mansard gets awards

    AXA Mansard has been won the Best In-House Legal Team in the Insurance category for the second time at the ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards.

    Its Company Secretary, Omowunmi Adewusi, also received an outstanding recognition in the 40 under 40 legal practitioners category at the award which recently held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    The awards is an annual event that celebrates the unique contributions of lawyers to economic re-engineering and growth of businesses in Nigeria.

    On the recognition, Mrs. Adewusi said the company’s culture of integrity, professionalism, team spirit and the continuous desire for excellence were some of the factors that qualified the team for the awards. She added that the firm would continue to redefine standards.

    The Chief Executive Officer, Legal Blitz Limited, Lere Fashola, explained that the awards was designed to recognise the contribution the legal business community makes to the development of the economy.

    The AXA Group is a worldwide leader in insurance and asset management, with 166,000 employees serving 103 million clients in 64 countries. In 2015, IFRS revenues amounted to Euro 99 billion and IFRS underlying earnings to Euro 5.6 billion. AXA had Euro 1,363 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2015.

  • AXA Mansard presents results to shareholders

    AXA Mansard Insurance Plc held its 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the weekend, in Lagos during which the firm presented its financial results to shareholders.

    Speaking at the AGM, the Chairman, Victor Gbolade Osibodu announced the Board’s proposed final dividend of two kobo per share for the financial year ended December 31, 2015. He explained that this will make a total dividend of five kobo per share paid in the 2015 financial year after the three kobo interim dividend earlier paid in October 2015, in spite of the political and economic uncertainties in the country.

    The Chairman assured the shareholders of the board’s “continued commitment to the delivery of optimal returns whilst keeping the company a responsible corporate citizen of Nigeria”. He also announced the conclusion of the acquisition of a 60 per cent stake in Penman Pensions Ltd in 2015, now renamed AXA Mansard Pensions, which has been repositioned to take advantage of the growth opportunities in the Pensions industry.

    Osibodu concluded by thanking the customers and shareholders and reiterated their commitment to creating more returns on their investments.

    AXA Mansard recorded nine per cent in growth in Net Premium Income from N9.05 billion to N9.9 billion. The organisation also maintained the profit before tax at N2.02 billion – same as 2014 while growing profit after tax by eight per cent to N1.7 billion from N1.5 billion in the previous year.

    Commenting on the organisation’s performance, the Chief Executive Officer, AXA Mansard Insurance plc, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori said: “our risk pool is growing evidenced by the 14 per cent growth in Insurance liabilities from N11.29 billion in 2014 to N12.92 billion in 2015”.

    She stated that the organisation is working to improve its channels and distribution structure as they leverage their robust platform, group synergies and technical excellence to drive growth.

    According to the Chief Client Officer, AXA Mansard Insurance plc, Tosin Runsewe “the upgrade of our brand in July 2015 from Mansard Insurance to AXA Mansard Insurance sign-posted our branding and positioning activities during the year. The global AXA brand that we now have is well recognised among our current and prospective corporate clients while our heritage of customer service as Mansard Insurance plc has remained strong with our retail customers.”

    The shareholders praised AXA Mansard for its financial performance in 2015 despite the difficult operating environment globally but requested for more dividend next year.

    For the third consecutive time, AXA Mansard was adjudged a “Great Place to Work” in Nigeria by the Great Place to Work Institute. The organisation also emerged winner in the category for “Promptness in Claims Settlement” in the insurance industry at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) Awards.

    Top 50 Brands in Nigeria is an annual selection of top brands in Nigeria. The award criteria include leadership structure, market acceptance, brand equity, product offerings, culture, quality service delivery and market performance.

    AXA Mansard to train HR leaders on good mgt

    AXA Mansard Health Limited, the health management subsidiary of AXA Mansard Insurance Plc, is set to train human resources managers on how to improve and sustain employee motivation in the workplace.

    The firm held the first edition of its human capital initiative, HR Leaders’ Conference, where the benefits of good staff relationship was explored as the difference between a successful company and an unsuccessful one.

    The conference with Sustaining Employees’ Motivation through Integrated Benefit Planning as its theme was held in Lagos with professionals in the human resources department commenting on the future of the industry.

    The Chief Executive Officer of AXA Mansard Health Limited, Mr. Tope Adeniyi, said the initiative was conceptualised to provide a platform for human resources leaders to meet and discuss issues as it relates to improving and sustaining employee motivation in the workplace.

    Adeniyi said people who are the workforce in any organisation can be encouraged to increase productivity, not only through wage increase, but by a careful understanding of their feelings through a robust employer-employee relationship, adding that as for most members of staff, it is family or workplace challenge that is limiting their outputs.

    He said: “The confab came about as a result of the gap we saw in the market that a lot of employees are not satisfied in their working environment and if an employee’s family is taken care of, productivity in work can be improved and it is time we should be looking beyond wages, none wages reward system that can make employees more satisfied in the work should also be looked at.”

  • AXA Mansard confab holds October 14

    AXA Mansard Health Limited will on Wednesday, October 14 host human resource leaders’ conference.

    The event, with the theme: “Sustaining employees motivation through Integrated benefit planning” would identify and integrate concepts that would promote employee wellbeing in the country.

    The Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Registrar, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Sunday Adeyemi, would deliver the keynote address at the event where over 200 Head of HRs of large institutions were being expected.

    Chairman, AXA Mansard Health, Olusola Adeeyo,  noted that the conference demonstrates the commitment of the company to the good of human capital development in Nigeria and is positioned to stimulate a more dedicated, committed, patriotic and highly productive workforce for the nation.

    He said the various plenary sessions of the conference has been designed to assist and equip HR leaders with strategies and tools that can help deal with employees assistance programs.

    “The conference will broaden participant horizon on how best to go about the reinforcement of culture and corporate governance in their various organisations at large and also build a stronger and high performance  workforce for their organisations,” he added.
