    Samsung launches Galaxy 11 campaign

Samsung Electronics West Africa has kicked off its Galaxy 11 campaign in Nigeria with series of consumer engagement activities at the Ikeja City Mall.

Consumers participating in the activation on June 5 stand the chance of winning fantastic gifts, freebies and prizes, including the new Galaxy S5.

Samsung’s brand ambassadors, Banky W and Kate Henshaw, as well as other celebrity star attractions will also visit the activation site on select days to engage attendees at the week-long event.

The Managing Director of Samsung Electronics West Africa, Mr. Brovo Kim, said the Galaxy 11 campaign represents the latest example of Samsung’s approach to developing innovative promotions that leverage its people-inspired technology while uniting fans’ passions and helping to enhance their everyday experiences in new ways.

Tolu Oniru, Tunde Demurin still an item

THE marriage of popular on-air personality, Tolu Oniru, with Captain Tunde Demurin has come under public focus lately. While the rumour mill is abuzz with speculations that their much celebrated relationship is on the brink of collapse, others say that close friends and associates of the couple are doing everything they can to salvage whatever is left of it.

But contrary to the foregoing, Celeb Watch has gathered that the rumoured collapse of their marriage may not be true afterall. Findings by Celeb Watch indicate that the love birds hardly engage in arguments, let alone a quarrel that would cause them to go their separate ways. Captain Tunde, a co-owner of EME Records with Banky W, is reputed for his calm mien, while Tolu’s amiable personality is well known to the public.

Although it took Tolu a while to admit dating Tunde on a television programme, the lovebirds are always together except for the periods that the demands of duty separate them. What is more, both of them are fond of exchanging gifts through the social media as many times as birthday, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, New Year and other social events present the opportunity.

Tolu and Tunde are still very much in love. Indeed, plans are reportedly underway to consummate their relationship before the year runs out.

While Sterling Bank cannot absorb everyone here today, we have taken your CVs and will look into them and those that we consider employable, we will definitely employ. But some of you are not employable and some don’t even want to work in a structured environment. They want to be on their own. • Banky W, Hafsat Abiola to speak at Bola Tinubu Colloquium

Banky W, Hafsat Abiola to speak at Bola Tinubu Colloquium

THE fifth Annual Bola Tinubu Colloquium is to hold on March 28 at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The theme for the colloquium is ‘Beyond Mergers: A National Movement for Change, A New Generation Speaks!’ with Femi Edun as lead presenter.

He will speak on Poverty and the Nigerian State.

Other speakers include, Hafsat Abiola-Costello, who will speak on “The Millennium Development Goals: where are we in the race and how can we go faster?”; Bankole Wellington (Banky W) who will address New Media; Myani Bukar on the issues of Citizenship and Identity; and Kola Oyeneyin on the responsibilities of the older generation to the younger generation in charting a course for change.

The colloquium planning committee headed by Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State said the choice of issues lined up for discussion at the forum were informed by the optimism for the future which the emergence of the All Progressive congress (APC) has engendered in the country.

The development, the committee added has “ also somewhat excited the thought that perhaps this might be an opportunity for a more broad-based movement for true national transformation.

“ This year, the Colloquium seeks to create a platform for encouraging that possibility. Part of the strategy for achieving this is to bring some new and younger voices to the table to interrogate ways by which the political space can be made more inclusive, especially how our increasingly cynical youth can become involved in a national movement to save the Republic.”

The 5th Bola Tinubu Colloquium is in celebration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 61st birthday. The event is to be chaired by Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka.

A key feature of the colloquium is the formal presentation of the “National Movement for Change” (NM4C).

The movement is aimed at mobilizing “ a new generation of voices across the country to actively engage the political space and eventually cause change in the way the country is being governed.”

Banky W heralds album with two singles

AFTER almost three years since he released the song Strong Thing and Lagos Party, head honcho of Empire Mates Entertainment, Banky W is back with two brand new singles which will herald his forthcoming album.
