    Zuri Marley, the granddaughter of late Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley, has voted Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy as the only artist she would have loved to collaborate with her grandfather.

    She made this known while speaking at the movie premiere of ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ in London recently.

    She said she thought about it thoroughly and was convinced Burna was the only artist whose collaboration with her grandfather she would have loved to see.

    Grammy-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has indirectly shaded Davido, through his 30BG fan.

    Burna Boy subtly referred to Davido as a “joke” via his X account.

    This came in response to a Davido fan who labeled Burna Boy an “ode” for his recent loss of four Grammys.

    Commenting on a post on Burna Boy’s X handle, Davido’s fan, using Davido as his display picture, wrote: “Ode, bottled four Grammys.”

    In his reply, Burna responded, “The real joke is in your display pic.”

    After the fan changed his display picture from Davido to the ‘African Giant,’ Burna Boy deleted his comment.

    Another fan tried to mock Burna for deleting his comment, but Burna Boy clarified that he did so because the fan changed his display picture.

    The fan wrote: “Burna no fit stand on business? He fold?” and Burna Boy replied: “You nor see say baba don change am put my picture? Na me jokes?.”

    Although the singer removed his comment, it still faces ongoing criticism on social media, with many condemning it.

    Grammy-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has ranked No. 6 on Billboard for his debut at the 66th Grammy.

    Recall that Burna Boy performed for the first time at the Grammys on Sunday, February 4.

    The acclaimed ‘African Giant’ ranked No. 6 out of all the performances during the 2024 Grammys.

    He performed “Sittin’ on Top of the World” while accompanied by Brandy and 21 Savage.

    During his production, he put on an impressive performance with infectious energy and charisma.

    Billboard in a statement, said: “For the first Afrobeats performance at the Grammys, Burna Boy pulled out all the stops. Backed by Brandy’s gorgeous vocals and 21 Savage’s detached, confident cool, Burna sang “Sittin’ on Top of the World” and demonstrated that is precisely where he belongs.

    Bose Ogulu, mother of award-winning artist Burna Boy, has felicitated with her son despite losing out on his four Grammy nominations.

    Without bagging home an award, Burna Boy still shone brightly at the 66th Grammys for making history as the first Nigerian and Afrobeats artiste to perform live at the award mainstage.

    The ‘African Giant’ crooner performed a medley of songs from his latest album, ‘I Told Them’ to a hyped audience at the Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles.

    He was later joined on stage by legendary singer, Brandy and rapper, 21 Savage.

    The Nation reported that Burna Boy lost the Best Global Music Performance award to ‘Pashto’ by Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer and Zakir Hussain; Best Global Music Album to Shakti’s ‘This Moment’; Best Melodic Rap Performance to Lil Durk’s ‘All My Life’; and Best African Music Performance to Tyla’s ‘Water.’

    Describing him as the blueprint, Bose took to her Instagram page to celebrate her son.

    The excited mother said the singer is continuously etching his name in the sands of time.

    Multiple award-winning artist, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has lost out on all four of his nominations at the 66th Grammy Award ceremony.

    Burna Boy’s song ‘Alone’ lost to the trio of Zakir Hussain, Bela Fleck and Edgar Myer’s song ‘Pashto’ which won the Global Music Performance category.

    The acclaimed ‘African Giant’ lost the second award of the Best African Music Performance category won by South Africa’s female rapper, Tyla.

    Her song ‘Water’ saw off competition from Burna’s ‘City Boys.’

    Third on the list was the Best Melodic Rap Performance category won by American rappers Lil Durk and J Cole.

    Losing his fourth nomination on ‘Best Global Music Album’ alongside David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, World fusion band Shakti’s ‘This Moment’, bagged the award.

    His album, ‘I Told Them’ along with Davido’s ‘Timeless’ album, didn’t get rated enough to win.

    Nigerian raving singers, Rema, Burna Boy, and Asake have been nominated for the 2024 Brit Awards, the UK’s most prominent music awards ceremony.

    The nomination list for the annual music awards show was released on Wednesday, January 24.

    Burna Boy and Asake made the ‘Best International Artiste’ category, the pair will compete in the International Artist of the Year category against renowned global stars, including SZA, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, Lanarkshire Del Rey, CMAT, and Caroline Polachek.

    While ‘Calm Down‘, the hit song by Rema, was nominated in the ‘Best International Song’ category.

    Rachel Agatha Keen, the British singer better known as RAYE, set a Brit Awards record by receiving the most nominations in a year.

    RAYE broke the previous record of six nominations in a year, shared by Gorillaz, Craig David, and Robbie Williams.

    Burna Boy, Tems become Nigerian artists with most Billboard Hot 100 entries.

    Grammy-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has matched his Nigerian counterpart Tems as the artist from Nigeria with the highest number of entries on the Billboard Hot 100.

    Achieving this milestone, Burna Boy’s collaboration with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, titled ‘Just Like Me,’ entered the Hot 100 chart at 67, marking his fifth entry.

    Following the feat, Burna Boy now shares the record for the most Billboard Hot entries for a Nigerian/African artist with Tems (five each).

    Burna Boy had previously been on the chart with ‘Loved By You’ with Justin Bieber, ‘Last Last’, ‘Sitting On Top Of The World’ with 21 Savage, and ‘Talibans II’ with Byron Messia.

    Other Nigerians who have made entries on the chart include Wizkid (4), Rema (1), Fireboy (1), and CKay (1).
