    Don’t involve yourself in VeryDarkMan’s alleged police case – Samklef warns Davido

    Music producer, Samklef, has warned his junior colleague, Davido against involving himself in the alleged ongoing police case between VeryDarkMan and Tonto Dikeh.

    He posted on his Instagram page that although he has forgiven Davido, he is warning him to stay away from any involvement in the VDM case.

    He acknowledged that Davido is a great person, but he emphasized that he should not interfere with the police handling the case.

    He added that if he finds out Davido is involved in the case, he would drag him on social media like a Nigerian generator.

    He wrote: “Dear Davido, I want you to know that I’ve forgiven you. However, I’m sending this message as a warning for you to stay clear of any involvement in the VDM matter, as you risk tarnishing your reputation again like you did last time.”

    Famous singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has made known his intention towards diverting his attention to his American dream, stressing he has conquered Africa.

    The ‘Feel’’ crooner in an interview with Billboard, said his goal is to collaborate with creatives across the globe.

    Davido added that he is working on two albums for Africa and America, respectively.

    He said: “I want to drop this album by the grace of God. Hopefully, we get to hit No. 1. I just want to share great ideas and great music with other artists, influence other artists, write and produce for other people. Just getting to the dream. I’ve lived the African dream, now I’m trying to get to the American dream.”

    Speaking on his relationship with American artists, Davido said: “I think I connect with Atlanta artists, especially having lived there for about four, five years there. 

    “I currently have a house in Atlanta, so when it comes to the American culture, I learned most of it in the South. 

    “So I think I relate better with Atlanta artists, being around [Young] Thug and being around people. Like, I been knew Gunna even before either he or I popped off.”

    Davido was born in Atlanta, USA but moved to Nigeria as a toddler.

    Nigerian pop star, David ‘Davido‘ Adeleke has said he’s on a mission to dominate the United States music industry.

    Davido asserted this during his recent interview with Billboard, stressing that he has conquered the African music scene, next is to focus on American dream.

    Breach of contract: Davido to pay Pinnick N30m

    American singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has agreed to settle the breach of contract suit filed against him at the High Court of Delta State Effurun by the Amaju Pinnick-led Brownhill Investment Company Limited out of court.

    As part of the consent judgement entered in a N2 billion suit filed against him, Davido also agreed to within seven days of execution of the terms of settlement, pay N30million to the claimant, being a part contribution to the claimant’s outstanding legal fees in this suit.

    As part of the out-of-court settlement, the defendant agreed to perform live at the ‘Warri Again 2024 Concert’ slated for  October 4, 2024 in Warri, Delta State.

    The claimant had, through its lawyer, Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, in suit EHC/183/2023, prayed the court to award N2 billion as general damages against Davido.

    Besides, the claimant prayedfor N150 million as legal and professional fees, and additional sum N30 million as cost of filing the suit.

    Listed as defendants in the suit are David Adeleke a.k.a “Davido”, and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited.

    After extensive discussion and negotiations, the parties mutually agreed to perform at the “Warri Again Concert” edition on October 4, 2024.

    Pinnick, Davido to settle out of court

    Brownhill Investment Company owned by former Nigeria Federation Football (NFF) chairman Amaju Pinnick and music superstar Davido have been granted an out-of-court settlement by a Delta High Court sitting in Effurun.

    Justice Michael Obi of High Court Three, Effurun, on Thursday, commended both parties for the amicable resolution to settle out of court.

    “I commend both parties for exploring an amicable resolution to settle out of court,” Obi said. 

    Brownhill Investment Company in October 2023 filed a suit marked EHC/183/2023, against Davido Music Worldwide Limited over a breach of contract to perform at the 19th edition of the ‘Warri Again Concert’.

    Grammy-nominated singer Davido has distinguished between afrobeats and RnB.

    Contrary to the revelation of Grammy-winning Wizkid that he isn’t an afrobeats singer, Davido in a throwback video said Afrobeats simply refers to African musicians.

    The artist mentioned R&B singers like Johnny Drille and Chike while claiming that some of his tracks are RnB.

    He also cited Odumodublvck, an African-born hip-hop musician who is classified as an Afrobeat artist despite being a straight drill artist.

    Afrobeats singer David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has said Grammy-winning Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo opened global doors for a new generation of African artists like himself.

    He noted that the ‘Wombo Lombo’ crooner has represented the continent so well on the global stage over the years.

    Relishing his recent collaboration with the legendary musician, Davido noted that he has been longing to work with her.

    Davido featured Angelique Kidjo, alongside The Cavemen on ‘Na Money’ off his Grammy-nominated album, ‘Timeless.’
