Afrobeats maestro, Davido, has bragged about his political sagacity to an X (formerly Twitter) user who offered unsolicited advice about politics.

Earlier, Davido made a remark about the Nigerian political clime, characterising it as a movie with special illusionary effect.

He posted: “Nigeria politics and film trick.”

A tweep, Papa Wemba who felt Davido’s post was sparked by recent judgement in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC), chided him for apparently being petty.

He said: “Anytime wey APC get any good judgment you go come rush tweet…”

But the “Timeless” hitmaker denied harbouring any thought about judgement and warned Wemba to desist from supporting people he would never be able to dine with.

Davido replied: “1. Never said nothing about judgement. 2. The Pple wey you Dey defend … u fit go chop for their house? But guess what? I CAN.”

Another tweep, Victor Abisoye, taking up the matter, urged the Afrobeats singer to steer clear of politics, focus on his musical career and not ‘land his father in trouble.”

According to Abisoye, politics had the ability to humble just about anyone and the singer was no exception to the rule.

Abisoye admonished: “Politics will humble you, o Davido. Please stay away, face your craft. No go put your papa for trouble aabeg.”

However, Davido didn’t share Abisoye’s sentiments about politics being able to serve as a humbling factor, especially for someone like himself.

Davido bragged in response: “Me wey humble politics lol ask around.”

Popular singer Davido has slammed netizens who came at him for his statement on the X app.

Davido blasted the living daylight out of a man as they engage in a word battle over Nigerian politics.

The fight had started when the Afrobeats singer took to his page to comment on the crooked ways of the country’s politics.

He tweeted: “Nigeria politics and film trick” with a laughing emoji.

This garnered mixed reactions from netizens and one netizen said that he’s always quick to criticize the country if the court rules in APC favour.

Davido reacted:

However, another tweep known as @RealAdeshina berated:
“Go chop with Oyetola, ode!”

Davido replied:
“U mean the former governor ?”

@RealAdeshina said:
“Your uncle will become former one day.

Maybe by 2026 or more.

You need to act to your age and stop being a banger boy.

Rest!”

Davido lampooned him with the words:

“Bingo who release u from cage today, from today ur new name is Bingo … stop distracting me I’m counting money.”

Popular dancer and entertainer, Iweh Pascal Odinaka aka Poco Lee has surprised superstar singer Davido on stage during his UK performance.

During a live performance, Davido, who is on tour in the UK in support of his Timeless album, was joined by an unexpected visitor.

Poco Lee unexpectedly joined him as he was singing his smash song “Unavailable” in front of thousands of a heterogeneous audience.

Davido was so startled that he bolted from the stage, leaving Poco Lee to finish the song with support dancers on the podium.

Social media personality, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, was thrilled to have the renowned Afrobeats artist, Davido, as his follower on Instagram.

He expressed joy waking up to a compliment from Davido besides the usual insulting remarks from trolls.

Known for his strong opinions, VeryDarkMan shared how he often faces an influx of individuals entering his DMs just to insult and bully him over his views.

He recounted how he’s had to endure being called “broke, dirty” and many other derogatory names for so long as he noted that didn’t matter anymore after being complimented and followed by O.B.O.

He said despite enduring derogatory names and labels like “broke” and “dirty” for a long time, their statements no longer weigh him down after receiving praise and a follow from O.B.O.

Expressing immense pride, VeryDarkMan declared that with this recent development, he now had a ‘wealthy’ friend whom he could reach out to when feeling down or in need of financial assistance.

He vowed to utilise this newfound “achievement” as a means to respond to and stand up against his online harassers.

He said: “In as much as I come out as somebody that is emotionally strong, but you should also understand that I am human. I can never understand why I get insulted and bullied online because of my opinion.

“Some people go as far as coming into my DMs and if I wake up, I’ll see like 100 comments from different blogs that I’ve been tagged; everything is insulting. They insult my family; me uncalled for because of my opinion. They broke-shame me. They call me dirty, say I don’t have anything; a lot of things about me.

“I was thinking about it before until today, when I checked my DM and I saw Davido’s message, saying he ‘gbaduns’ (likes) me. And I checked; he’s also following me. That means, if I’m sad, he’s now my guy, I’ll text him.

“So, if the number one Afrobeats artiste in the world, the number one with the number one song in the world right now, ‘I’m Unavailable’, if he’s following me and we chat, who told you your opinion matter? All you people have to do is insult. So, you can see now that I now have friends that have money. Meanwhile, me and Tunde Ednut na paddy. Now, O.B.O too has become my guy.

“So, me and you are not mates. When you are insulting me, you should think about the people that I know, do you understand? You should think about them and don’t play!

“A lot of people won’t like me this period. Una go suffer, don’t Play! You will learn and you’ll learn the hard way.”

Superstar singer Davido has stated he has been deprived of sleep after the unfortunate demise of MohBad.

Davido revealed this in an Instagram post.

“Mohbad ur spirit strong ooo..sleep come hard me,” he wrote.

The ‘Unavailable’ crooner also confirmed he will fly into the country for a candlelight procession in Mohbad’s honour on Thursday.

The procession will begin at Lekki Phase 1 gate and end with a tribute concert at Muri Okunola Park.

He passed on at 27 with different insinuations on how he died circulating on the Internet.

Singer Davido has generated reactions over the offer to lavishly pamper a Caucasian interviewer, Amelia Dimoldenberg aboard his premium private jet. 

The gesture made many wonder if he was planning to increase his baby mamas.

The trending video saw Davido conversing with Dimoldenberg on the pink carpet at the recent MTV Music Video Awards (VMA).

As the DMW boss shared his experience at the prestigious award show, exuding pride about the now-global music genre, Afrobeats, the female host opened up about never having been to Lagos

Without delay, Davido offered her a private jet ride in less than 10 hours from the United States of America to Lagos State, Nigeria.

Dimoldenberg was excited for the first private jet flight as Davido reiterating he would gladly send his luxurious jet to move her to Lagos.

Famous singer Davido has congratulated his junior colleague Rema for snagging the maiden “Best Afrobeats Song” category at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards in New Jersey, USA, on Tuesday night.

The Nation reported that Rema defeated Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr and others to clinch the award.

While receiving his award, Rema acknowledged the contributions of Nigerian music legends such as Davido, Burna Boy and Wizkid to afrobeats that made it possible for the genre to be on the global stage.

Davido, who attended the event, described Rema’s victory as “well deserved.”

A New York-based Barber has expressed delight after getting officially hired as the international personal stylist for popular Afrobeats sensation, Davido.

The amazing barber realised his dream after giving the internationally renowned  singer an extraordinary haircut that left the artist beaming with delight.

Mera ‘The Barber’ rushed to social media to express his excitement releasing a video of himself working his magic on Davido’s hair.
