Jumia introduces new windows app
Jumia has launched a new App on windows App store for customers to get unlimited shopping experience on the largest online store in Nigeria with over 200,000 items listed.
It also offers customers a great shopping experience with the expansion to Windows phone for customers to enjoy large assortment of products.
Speaking about Jumia’s innovation for the Windows phone, its Nigeria’s Managing Director for Marketing & Sales, Jonathan Doerr said: “We are giving Nigerians the best shopping experience with technology innovation such as the new App for windows phone. This is to extend our relation to customers, giving them the option to make Jumia their home with the app shopping through our major categories and getting the best price.”

Jumia Shopping Festival to boost e-commerce in Egypt
Jumia Egypt announced the launch of the first edition of ‘Jumia Shopping Festival’, the first online shopping festival in Egypt that brings together top brands in all categories – electronics, home and kitchen, health and beauty and others. Over those 10 days, Jumia visitors will encounter discounts up to 80 per cent across different categories that they can avail by making purchases from home, office or even by using their phone, through Jumia’s mobile app or the website.
This initiative aims to increase the rate of online shopping and users in Egypt stressing on the idea that online is not only the new way of shopping, but the new way of living. Moreover, with many first-time online shoppers expected to log in, brands and companies are targeting the acquisition of more and more new customers.

Jumia rewards customers with rams at Eid-El –Fitri
To celebrate Eid-El –Fitri with its muslim customers, Nigeria’s largest online store Jumia gave out a ram in a promo.
The promo was on all through the fast period and was built around buying ‘anytime item’ from the Jumia Ramadan store. The competition ended a few days to the end of Ramadan and Jumia announced the winner as Abdulazeez Akanni.
To enter for the draw, the winner bought a tablet and tablet accessory, he emerge the winner and a ram was delivered to his house before the Eid-El –Fitri celebration.

Jumia empowers SME’s
As part of its innovative approach towards transforming the Nigerian retail space, Jumia has introduced an online marketplace platform to serve as a veritable model that will shape the future of retail in Nigeria. The Jumia marketplace offers Small and Medium scale Enterprises (SMEs) opportunities to showcase their products online thereby reaching a larger and more targeted audience.
The platform is not limited to businesses; it also brings on board individuals who run small businesses on the side and are looking to increase visibility. “I run a home-based business and I must say joining the Jumia marketplace has really been helpful especially with increasing my sales. Jumia has offered my business more visibility,” said Kenneth Ubogu, a Jumia Market place seller.
Some of Jumia’s marketplace sellers include home-based business owners and mobile sellers. “Jumia helped my business a lot with the marketplace platform. Jumia expands operations to Kano as it turns two

A number of top celebrities in the fashion industry recently graced the unveiling of Jumia Fashion Campaign video in Lagos.
In the video, Jumia’s fashion core values, which include sophisticated and stylish fashion infused with the traditional edge of made- in- Nigeria fashion, were showcased.
Jumia Fashion, which was launched in 2012, has an array of fashion and beauty items for males, females.

Jumia Nigeria has celebrated her highest sales since inception. This, according to the company, was the result of unrelenting hard work and dedication from the team.
To compensate members of the team for their efforts, there was an award ceremony to recognise, motivate and empower team members. To continue the celebration of the team’s achievement, a team bonding event was also held to further enhance a team spirit within the Jumia sales force.
Head of Sales Force, Jumia Nigeria Hajar Ohusin, said: “With the continuous efforts of each sales force members, the team is getting stronger and stronger especially now that we are reaching into more cities and even smaller towns across the country.
“Jumia Nigeria invests quality time and intensive training in each employee and as a result, members of staff are highly motivated and driven. There are also other empowerment initiatives such as coaching and mentoring programmes, resulting in great output.”
