Entrepreneur kicks against Natasha’s ‘accusations without proof’

A United Kingdom-based Nigerian entrepreneur, Sandra Duru, has kicked against  what she described as  Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s  pattern of making serious accusations against prominent figures without providing evidence.

In a statement  Duru outlined five notable instances where the Kogi-born senator allegedly made damaging claims against influential Nigerians, none of which, according to her, has been substantiated.

“In 2019, during the Kogi State governorship election, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan alleged that then-Governor Yahaya Bello plotted to assassinate her,” Duru said.

“The allegation sparked widespread media attention, but investigations failed to produce any credible evidence. Governor Bello dismissed the claim as a political ploy intended to elicit public sympathy.”

Duru also referenced a 2021 incident in which Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan accused former presidential aide Reno Omokri of sexual harassment at a 2014 state banquet.

Omokri countered the accusation with travel documents and passport stamps, demonstrating he was not in Nigeria at the time of the alleged incident.

“Following the disclosure, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan reportedly deleted related social media posts, and the matter was eventually settled out of court after mediation by a prominent cleric, with Omokri receiving significant damages,” Duru said.

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Duru said  Senator  Akpoti-Uduaghan repeated accusations of an assassination plot allegedly masterminded by Bello.

“Again, no concrete evidence was provided, and the governor refuted the claim as another politically motivated distraction,” she said.

Duru  cited a 2025 episode in which the senator accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, alleging inappropriate comments and conduct.

The Senate Ethics Committee reportedly dismissed the petition on procedural grounds, and  Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was subsequently suspended for six months for misconduct.

Her suspension drew backlash from women’s rights organizations, who viewed it as an attempt to suppress her voice.

In another controversy, the senator claimed she was removed from a key Senate committee role as retribution from Akpabio for opposing certain LNG plant investments.

However, Duru pointed to political analysts who argued that internal party dynamics, not policy disagreements, were more likely behind the reshuffle.

Duru’s statement has reignited national conversations about the responsibilities that come with public office, particularly the need for evidence-based accusations.

Critics warn that repeated unproven claims can undermine legitimate victims and erode public trust.

However, supporters of Akpoti-Uduaghan argue that her allegations expose systemic issues within.

Natasha offered me N200m to accuse Akpabio of organ harvesting, US based activist alleges

A US-based activist, Dr. Sandra Duru, also known as Professor Mgbeke, has submitted evidence of phone conversations between her and suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to relevant authorities in the US and other parts of the world for forensic analysis.

The activist, who made this known during a Facebook live session on Thursday night, while showing some of the evidences, said the conversations revealed the unknown ideas behind the sexual harassment allegation levelled against Senate President Godswill Akpabio by the embattled Senator.

She exposed call logs and conversations to debunk Natasha’s claim that she had never spoken to her before.

Duru, popularly called Prof. Mgbeke, added that Natasha offered her N200 million to accuse the Senate President of organ harvesting, linking him with the death of a young girl who died a few years ago when she wasn’t getting anywhere with her sexual harassment allegation.

She called on international security agencies, which she had petitioned, the IPU and the Nigeria Police Force to probe Natasha’s allegations and what she claimed to know about the murder of Umoren, having kept mute for years before coming out to accuse Akpabio.

The activist and journalist, in her one hour, eight minutes live broadcast, claimed that Natasha was out to destroy men, insisting that the suspended Senator had revealed she had no evidence of harassment against Akpabio.

She said this while displaying call logs and messages sent to her Whatsapp by Natasha.

“One, there is no sexual harassment of any kind, two, there is no evidence of organ harvesting. I told Natasha, you are a pathological liar, you have disgraced us Nigerians. She said Nigerians were G and H – ‘Gullible and Hungry’ and you want to add to their problems?

“I told her to make peace with the Senate members but she insisted that they want to destroy Yoruba government, I don’t know she meant by that.

“A lawyer that is very lousy and careless in her utterances. Natasha is not teachable, Natasha lacks humility, Natasha lacks moral values, she does not care. If it doesn’t go Natasha’s way, you are her enemy. Natasha is on a mission to destroy men… I cannot watch her destroy our men, I cannot watch her destroy our sons, I cannot watch her destroy our girls who are following her blindly. She called Dr Oby Ezekwesili a useful idiot,” Duru revealed.

She added: “The Nigerian Police should handle the case of Natasha and her false allegations. She said she wants to force the Senate President to step down so that they will have their way to remove what they call Yoruba government.

“Umoren died in 2021. Autopsy was done and there was no organ harvesting.

“I already wrote the international agencies about a senator that claimed to have known something about the murder of a young lady and she kept it to herself. She must explain what she knows about the death.

“She said the reason for the fight was not really about the Senate President but it is about the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that they don’t want Yoruba government to go beyond four years. She said no sexual harassment evidence of any kind,” Duru insisted.

According to her, during one of their conversations, Natasha revealed that she had been promised governorship of Kogi State or Minister of Petroleum Resources if she could accomplish the mission of getting the Senate President out.

When contacted, the Chief Press Secretary to Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, Israel Arogbonlo, said the Senator would only present her evidence in court.

  • Review of Natasha’s ‘apology’

    Review of Natasha’s ‘apology’

    By Gbenga Oshinowo

Suspended senator representing Kogi Central , Natasha Akpoti -Uduaghan decided to bring herself to sordid spotlight again by hurling into public space an asinine piece entitled “Satirical Apology Letter”.and addressed to Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, President of the Nigerian Senate.

In the ill-advised and inelegant piece of insolence against the Nation and its institution, Natasha attempts to wax intellectual by introducing the concept of satire into the uncouth letter. It is obvious that she has almost no knowledge of the concept and its import.  Satire implies criticising people or ideas in a humorous way in order to make a political point. And so in this piece of absurdity , who is she criticising or which idea is her target of intention? The vile piece is nothing more than serialized lies and calculated deception.

The so-called apology letter is a burlesque, a parody and not a satire as she ignorantly claims. Burlesque is an absurd or comically exaggerated imitation of something especially in a literary or dramatic work. It is a device in communication which fits her skewed thinking in this circumstance. Unfortunately in her hysteria and swashbuckling, she does not pay attention to learning.

The above framework fits what Natasha has been doing these past few months. She has proven herself a poor drama queen who is very poor at interpreting scripts yet presents the public with absurd dramatic optics with the intent to manipulate them. Her works so far have remained bland and unconvincing despite her concerted efforts. Her theatrical outputs  are tasteless, insipid  and vacuous of any mental deposit.

It is sad that even though they credit her as being a lawyer, no action of hers reflects that any learning from that noble discipline. Her public conduct flies ethics and moral values in the face. So what type of lawyer is she ? Pity!

If she were a lawyer, she would have been familiar with the law of evidence. She would also have known that he who alleges must prove . But Natasha has continued to dish out random narratives that are far-fetched in evidence and even logic. Sometimes the storylines are so childish that people are forced to see her actions as that of an “agbaya”, a Yoruba usage  loosely referred to an old person who acts childishly with not much sense. And to know that this person was a member of the highest legislative body in the land until her suspension puts this nation on a questionable threshold in the leadership recruitment process.

In her letter  which is replete with pun, Natasha proves that she had  a chequered upbringing that was far from decent and the manifestations are what she is grappling with. Her petulant nature , her ease with fabrication of lies, the consistent introduction of  new  allegations like  “private dinner behind closed doors” and her  use of lewd puns like “erection” for “election” summarize her as debased and lacking in moral values.

In her over- bloated, ego she calls herself a stubborn woman. Is it a virtue?  Even though she is likely to claim that the stubbornness is about her strength of character,  she knows that she is economical with the truth if she nurses such an assumption. Her past records are  in clear  dissonance with such assumptions and so would not support such claims. And let no one talk about change or repentance. It is easy to spot those cut for repentance when one sees them. She does not bear any such value.

She signs off her inane letter with “Yours in eternal resistance”. Interesting. It is obvious that she is yielding to populism rather than sense and playing to the gallery. May I kindly remind her of an adage which submits that “a dog that is destined to get missing will never hear the hunter’s whistle”. Before she construes this as a threat to abduct her, this adage refers solely to her political career which she is railroading to destruction because of untamed conduct and  bloated ego.

The last lines, “Unafraid, Unbought, and Unbroken tell the story of a young woman who lives in delusional cravings and fabricates false  narratives as a habit to satiate whatever is hounding or haunting her.

Natasha to Agbakoba: you lack powers to demand sexual harassment claim evidence from me

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has told Dr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) that he is not a court of law to demand from her the evidence of her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

She reaffirmed her sexual harassment allegations against the Senate President, while sharply criticizing his legal team led by Agbakoba for using media commentary to distort the course of ongoing judicial proceedings.

Akpoti-Uduaghan’s response, which is contained in a letter dated April 30 and addressed to Dr. Agbakoba, came after a televised remarks the senior lawyer made on Channels TV’s Politics Today on April 15 and again on April 29, where he accused Senator Natasha of ignoring two letters dated April 14 and 22 that demanded a retraction of her claims.

“No such letters have ever been served on me by post, courier, or personal delivery,” the Senator clarified.

She added that her previous silence was out of “studious restraint,” guided by legal advice and in deference to the principle of lis pendes—the doctrine that discourages public commentary on matters already before the courts.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan is the plaintiff in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/384/2025, where she is challenging her suspension from the Senate on grounds of denial of fair hearing.

She is also the defendant in Suit No. CV/816/2025, filed by Unoma Akpabio, wife of the Senate President, who is seeking N250 billion in damages for alleged defamation arising from the harassment claims.

Akpoti-Uduaghan said: “While I accord you the utmost professional respect, it bears repeating that a private legal practitioner, however distinguished, is not vested with adjudicatory authority under the Constitution or any statute of the Federal Republic.

“Your demands that I substantiate my allegations to you, outside the pleadings already before the High Court of the FCT on this same complaint by your client’s spouse, lack legal vires.

“The assessment of evidence belongs to the courts alone. The nature of your demand for evidence in this manner, at the instance of your client, simply indicates a broader misconception of what truly amounts to sexual harassment as prescribed in several global protocols.

“It underscores a narrow perspective of the nature of this global menace. It is in my respectful opinion that this is another attempt by your client to play to the gallery and relegate this matter yet again to the backwaters.”

Group condemns Natasha’s satirical apology, demands evidence on sexual harassment claim

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has come under fire following her satirical apology to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, which has sparked widespread criticism.

The embattled Kogi lawmaker, currently serving a suspension from the Senate over alleged unruly conduct, had earlier accused Akpabio of sexual harassment. However, on Monday, she issued what appeared to be an insincere apology to the Senate President, a move that quickly went viral on social media.

In response, the Executive Watchdog, a public accountability and governance advocacy group, condemned the senator in strong terms.

The group described her apology as “the latest descent into reckless, unsubstantiated allegations designed to undermine public institutions through media theatrics.”

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Fidelis Ella, the group accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of “a calculated abuse of public trust, where serious criminal allegations are converted into tools of political spectacle rather than subjected to lawful investigation.”

“Rather than report her allegations of sexual harassment to law enforcement or seek judicial remedy, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan improperly routed her complaint to the Nigerian Senate — an institution without criminal jurisdiction — only to abandon due process and resort to a media blitz when her political stunt failed to gain traction,” Ella stated.

He noted that her latest outburst, couched in satire, follows a well-documented pattern of frivolous and reckless accusations, including the now infamous claim that Senate President Akpabio and former Governor Yahaya Bello plotted her assassination — a claim she later admitted was based on secondhand gossip relayed by unnamed third parties.

“Senator Natasha’s consistent preference for rumor over evidence, and media outrage over legal process, reveals a profound misunderstanding of the responsibilities of her office,” Ella said. “Her conduct diminishes the dignity of the Senate and betrays the trust placed in her by her constituents.”

Referencing her previous accusation against former presidential aide Reno Omokri — which she deleted without apology after Omokri proved he was out of Nigeria at the time — Ella remarked that Senator Natasha’s history of reckless claims calls into question her credibility and fitness for public office.

“At a time when Nigeria requires disciplined, fact-driven leadership, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan instead offers drama, innuendo, and political self-sabotage disguised as advocacy,” Ella stated. “Her satirical letter is not resistance; it is a confession of her disregard for evidence, institutions, and democratic responsibility.”

The Executive Watchdog stressed that public officeholders must lead by example and that public confidence in democracy cannot survive when elected officials treat truth and due process as disposable tools of political warfare.

The group reiterated its call for accountability in public discourse and vowed to continue championing responsible civic engagement based on integrity, evidence, and respect for constitutional order.

  • Agbakoba demands retraction of Natasha’s ‘clearly false sexual harassment allegation’ against Akpabio

Agbakoba demands retraction of Natasha’s ‘clearly false sexual harassment allegation’ against Akpabio

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, has written a second letter to the suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) demanding a retraction of what he described as her “clearly false and unsubstantiated” sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

He said the latest letter became necessary, owing to the fact that the embattled Senator had failed to clarify the significant contradictions in her allegations against Akpabio, as demanded in his first letter dated April 14, 2025.

Agbakoba, who is also the Senate President’s lawyer, made this known at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday.

He said, instead of clarifying the contradictions in her allegation that Akpabio sexually harassed her on December 8, 2023, and her exaltation of her alleged harasser on her social media accounts on December 9, 2023; Natasha deleted her social media post.

In a letter he signed for Olisa Agbakoba Legal (AOL), dated April 22, 2025, the former NBA President said, “Recall that in our first letter to you, dated April 14, 2025, we requested that you clarify contradictions in your sexual harassment allegation against our client, Senator Godswill Akpabio. Of note is the contradiction as to timeline and dates.

“You have failed to clarify your sexual harassment allegation on December 8, 2023 and your exaltation of Senator Akpabio on your social media accounts (Instagram and X/Twitter) on December 9, 2023 – the day after you alleged he sexually harassed you.

“Rather than clarify this contradiction, you deleted the social media post, which to us is extremely concerning.”

The renowned lawyer told journalists that no matter what was said about Akbapio, the duty to prove the allegation rests with the embattled Kogi senator.

In addition to the clarification Akpabio’s solicitors requested, they also asked Akpoti-Uduaghan to clarify the lengthy timeline it took for her to make the sexual harassment allegation.

Agbakoba said: “You claim that the sexual harassment occurred on December 8, 2023 but your allegation was not made until 28th February 2025. One year and 2 months after?

“Additionally, rather than take up this serious allegation that occurred on 8 December 2023, you were seen throughout 2024 at several legislative and non-legislative events (locally and internationally) with Senator Akpabio, your alleged harasser.

“For example, you were seen together at the Inter-Parliamentary Union session in Geneva on the 24th and 25th of March 2024. In fact, you took several selfies and group photos with him during these events.

“All these events were posted in warm tones by you on your social media platforms. Please see screenshot copies of your Facebook post(s) and other photos you took with Senator Akpabio. We find this contradictory and unbelievable.”

“In light of this and having also failed to clarify inconsistencies pointed in our first letter to you, we demand that you retract sexual harassment allegations against our client as they are clearly false and unsubstantiated,” Agbakoba declared.

Facts emerged yesterday from the Kogi State Police Command that three young men armed with cutlasses vandalised the front glass windows of the family house of Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State on Tuesday.
