  • Simi releases new single ‘Ayo’

    Ace Nigeria singer and celebrity, Simisola Ogunleye aka Simi has released a new single of the audio to her new song “Ayo.”

    The audio of the song which was produced by legendury Beatz talks about the singer’s expression of joy forever and request for better things to come.

    The new song ‘Ayo’ in Yoruba dialect, which translates to ’Joy’ was the singer ‘s first solo single for the new year after her joint single with her husband and singer Adekunle Gold.

    The music star song expressed thankfulness to God and looking forward to good things and greater expectations to her new song and marriage.

    The afro-alternative song contained lyrics of her speaking of the joy and God’s blessing for her and her entire household this year.

    Simi recently got married to renowned singer Adekunle Gold. She was a gospel singer before she released her debut in 2008 titled ‘Ogaju’

    The singer’s career came into limelight in 2014 after she released ‘Tiff’ a song which was nominated in two categories at ‘The Headies 2015’ and further brought her to mainstream recognition.

  • Adekunle Gold, Simi make vows with ‘promise’

    Not satisfied that their low-key beach themed celebrity wedding trended online since last week, newly-weds Adekunle Gold and Simi, on Thursday, proved their love further with the release of a new single titled ‘Promise’.

    In a clip which the couple have shared, they are seen dressed in wedding dresses and serenading each other in an enclosure on the beach.

    Sharing snips of the music video on their Instagram accounts, they made what seemed like vows to each other.

    On his part, Adekunle Gold wrote, “If I lose it all, will you still be there for me?

    #Promise” while Simi wrote “Love is love is love #Promise.”

    Their wedding penultimate Wedneday and Thursday in Lagos reportedly had only 300 guests including the families and friends of the couple. Guests were not allowed to take photographs of the event and it was only this week that some pictures of the wedding surfaced.

    For many years, speculations had been rife as to whether Adekunle Gold and Simi were dating. In fact, Falz The Bad Guy was even romantically linked with Simi, especially after they also did a collaboration together.

  • Adekunle Gold, Simi seal marriage with ‘Promise’

    Newly wed singers Adekunle Gold and Simi, have released a track ‘Promise’ to give fans a glimpse of their wedding.

    The song was released on Thursday. In the video, the couple who were dressed in white are seen in an embrace against the setting sun.

    The duo shared the video of the song on their Instagram handles.

    While Simi wrote, “I’ll ride with you till we’re a hundred and forty four”, her husband Adekunle Gold merely attached the link to the video on his handle.

    On Wednesday, January 9, Adekunle and Simi tied the knot in a private traditional wedding that reportedly had in attendance only 300 guests, including close friends and family members of the couple.

    According to him, they decided a secret ceremony because it is easy to get lost in the lime light.

    It was also gathered that celebrities were banned from taking pictures or recording videos at the wedding. Fans have, however, pled with the couple to publish their wedding photos.

    4. He wrote his first song at the age of 15 and joined the junior choir of his church.
    5. He has an HND in Arts and Design from the Lagos State Polytechnic while majoring in Graphics.
    6. Adekunle added Gold to his name after a session in church with the inspiration coming from an excerpt of the pastor’s preaching.
    7. He was a member of a boys band called The Bridge.

  • Fans chide Falz for shaving beards for Simi

    Years after carving an identity for himself as a member of the beard gang, popular hip hop artiste Folarin Falana, also known as Falz The Bahd Guy, has rebranded by shaving off his beards.

    Posting a picture on his Instagram account in which he had shaved off his beards, the artiste captioned it, ‘New face, who dis?’

    As expected, the image generated various comments with some praising his looks while others said he was better off with the beards.

    Also, some others commented that Simi’s wedding to Adekunle Gold could have been responsible for the change of look.

    An Instagram user, imsegun, wrote, “Baba wants to look like Adekunle Gold but it’s too late.”

    Another Instagram user, odih4sure, wrote, “@symplysimi got married and @falzthebahdguy don kolo. His new hairstyle shows.”

    It would be recalled that fans had enmeshed Falz and Adekunle Gold in a love triangle as per who, between them, was dating Simi.

    Musicians Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana and Ric Hassani have joined fans to react to the ongoing wedding between Adekunle Gold and Simisola Ogunleye.

    News of the wedding between the two music stars broke on Wednesday morning causing a frenzy on social media.

    Reacting to the news, Falz shared a video (gif) of a young girl with tears running down her cheeks on his Twitter page @Falzthebahdguy which fans found funny.

    At the time of this report, Adekunle Gold, Simi and Falz are the top three trends on Twitter as fans have taken to the social network to congratulate the couple and express their surprise.

    Simi and Adekunle Gold’s continuous denial of their relationship left fans confused until a picture showing them kissing during her sold-out Lagos concert was released few weeks ago.

    Falz was not left out of the discussion as relationship rumours between him and Simi sparked in 2015 after they worked on the hit song ‘Soldier’.

  • ‘Simi Live in London’ holds tomorrow

    AWARD-WINNING singer and songwriter, Simi has promised her teeming fans an incredible performance.

    The event, tagged ‘Simi Live in London’ will holds tomorrow, November 11 at the O2 Academy Islington, will also feature top performances by other A-list stars including Davina Oriakhi.

    In April, the songbird announced the concert via her social media handle, ”It’s finally happening… Simi is coming to play @02Islington.”

    Simi, latest single titled, ‘Lovin’ is currently making waves. The Lovin’s video was shot in Lagos was Produced by Oscar Heman-Ackah and directed by Aje Film Works.

  • Mr Eazi drops Sophomore project

    Singer Oluwatosin Ajibade a.k.a Mr Eazi has released his sophomore project ‘Lagos To London’.

    He took to his social media pages to announce the project to his followers on Friday, while posting the link to listen and download the tracks.

    The Banku music boss who is currently dating Temi Otedola, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola wrote: @mreazi Lagos to London is out now; listen to the full mixtape via these links.

    ‘Lagos To London consists of 15 tracks and features some famous Nigerian acts incuding 2Baba, Burna Boy, Simi and Maleek Berry as well as international acts like Diplo, Giggs and Sneakbo.

    The release of the album was preceded by a listening party held in London.

    While explaining the concept behind the mixtape during the release party, Mr Eazi said, “The album basically just takes you on a sonic trip from Lagos to London.
