In a post on X, Tacha demanded that the Dangote Group takes responsibility for the recklessness of their drivers and provides substantial compensation to Ruth and her family.

Tacha specifically called for a N10 billion compensation, acknowledging that while it won’t restore Ruth’s lost limb, nor the injured bike man, it’s a step towards accountability.

“It’s high time the Dangote group starts paying heavily for the recklessness of their drivers. They ought to pay $10 million in compensation to Ruth even though it won’t bring back her leg”, she said.

This incident has sparked widespread reactions, with many Nigerians advocating for improved road safety measures and stricter regulations to prevent such accidents.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tacha has reflected on her life after being disqualified from the show in 2019.

Tacha’s disqualification stemmed from a physical altercation with fellow housemate Mercy Eke, who ultimately won the season.

The incident led to a significant shift in public perception about Tacha, with many branding her with various names.

Reality TV star Tacha Akide has shed light on the challenges of living abroad, describing the UK as an expensive and demanding environment.

Speaking in a recent podcast interview, Tacha revealed that rent in her neighbourhood costs up to £5,000 per month, adding that many Nigerians living abroad work multiple shifts just to maintain their standard of living.

This, she noted, leaves little time for socialising or supporting one another.

She also highlighted the difficulty of adjusting to life in the UK, where busy lifestyles often hinder social connections.

Tacha pointed out the striking contrast between the country’s wealth and the reality of people living on the streets, many of whom beg for money and lack proper support systems.

“I’ve been called different types of names. The people you call your friends are not like; when you travel, they’re not really your friends anymore. And you also have to understand, because they probably have like three shifts. Like it literally was just me like living in one of the most expensive neighbourhoods abroad. We’re talking five thousand pounds a month, like, before you sleep. I wake up, it’s been 30 days already. You’re like Okay, I have to start calculating. I know people who want me to travel abroad, like to move to the UK.

“And when I came, they were too busy to even see me. And I understand because there, do you understand? You’re going to St. Louis, you’re going to Tesco, you’re going to like a superstore. You see someone lying down on the floor, helplessly asking for cash. Like, can you give me one pound? Like, you’re seeing it happen for real. It’s such a hard place where you don’t have uncles or aunties or parents or anybody understanding where you’re coming from because they also have a lot going on for them as well,” she said.

Prioritise Nigeria’s development over ‘Japa’ – Tacha tells youths

Reality TV star Tacha Akide has expressed disappointment with youths, describing them as timid and unwilling to make sacrifices for national change.

In a recent post on X, Tacha lamented the current generation’s lack of involvement in the country’s political and social struggles.

According to Tacha, earlier generations of Nigerians were brave enough to get involved in national power and risk their lives for what they believed in.

She cited the example of former late President Buhari, who was part of a coup in his 20s, fighting for what he believed in.

In contrast,Tacha said today’s 20-year-olds are more focused on leaving the country, creating online content, and chasing comfort.

Tacha opined that the current generation has failed the next generation and has “buried” it.

She, however, emphasised that she has used her voice to speak up and show up for what she believes in, unlike many young Nigerians who she claims are too scared to sacrifice comfort for the country’s betterment.

She wrote: “Listen, my generation of Nigerians is the dumb*st and most cowardly.. funny how we blame the ones before us for ruining Nigeria, but at least they had the guts to fight, ex president Buhari in his 20s was part of a coup fighting for what he believed in .. buh what’s Today’s 20-year-olds up to? japa. Believe me when I say, we’ve not just failed the next generation..we’ve buried it. Young Nigerians back then were bold enough to insert themselves in national power.

“Today? We insert ourselves into visa queues.. banger tweets & vibes. Yall ask “what have you done?” I’ve used my voice. I speak, I show up, I don’t stay silent. This tweet was never about me. It’s about a whole generation that’s too scared to sacrifice comfort for country”.

“When I look at other states like Abuja and Lagos, and I see how far they’ve come, and with the potential Rivers State has, they’re not trying to exploit it. It’s just very disappointing because there are so many youths, so many talents there, so many things that if the government can see light into a lot can happen,” she said.

While she hasn’t revealed specific details about her political plans, Tacha mentioned that she’s working on something and will share more information once it’s 70% ready.

Tacha said : “I’m definitely going to run for office when it is time. It is something I’m working on. I’ll have to make it 70% done before I can talk about it, because it does not make sense granting interviews like this, talking about the government without being involved.”

Tacha warns Nigerians about harsh realities of living in the UK

Reality TV star and influencer Tacha Akide has shared observations about the financial struggles faced by many Nigerians living in the United Kingdom, challenging the widespread belief that life abroad guarantees financial comfort.

In her remarks, Tacha revealed that a significant number of Nigerians in the UK are barely getting by due to the high cost of living, especially transportation and housing.

She noted that, contrary to popular opinion, some are even living less comfortably than their counterparts back in Nigeria.

Tacha urged those planning to relocate to the UK to be fully aware of the economic challenges, emphasising that life overseas is not as glamorous as often portrayed.

“Many Nigerians are living better here at home than some of those abroad,” she stated, encouraging people to weigh the realities before making major relocation decisions.

She said, “You see, those of you who always have an inferiority complex in Nigeria, thinking everyone here is rich, most people here are broke. The most broke people I have met are actually the people I met in the UK. Everyone is holding themselves. It is expensive.”

“Trust me when I tell you that the living situation here is not rosy. In fact, most people in Nigeria are living better off than people actually living here. So if you want to move, go ahead, but not with the mentality of ‘oh, it’s all rosy.’ You see yourself spending 300k on a freaking taxi in a freaking day, 1 million on a car in a week unless you want to use the train. Think about your decision,” she said.

90% of our Pastors will not get away with their actions abroad – Tacha

Reality star Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has criticised the behaviour of some Nigerian Christian clerics, asserting that 90 percent of them would face consequences abroad for actions they get away with in Nigeria.

Her comments came in response to a viral video involving Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin who was filmed holding an alleged pistol-like object while confronting a car spotter filming his Range Rover in Lagos.

In a video message on her X handle, Tacha challenged Adefarasin’s claim that the object was not a firearm and that the car spotter was aggressive.

She argued that the footage clearly showed Adefarasin stopping his car, lowering his window and holding what appeared to be a firearm while warning the young content creator, who she said was merely praising the pastor’s vehicle.

Tacha accused Adefarasin of gaslighting the public by misrepresenting the incident and criticised his congregation for applauding his defense during a Sunday service.

Tacha emphasised that car spotting is a common global practice and questioned how the young man’s actions constituted aggression.

She condemned the hypocrisy of excusing such behavior simply because Adefarasin is a pastor, stating that the brand of Christianity practiced by many Nigerian clerics would not be tolerated abroad, potentially leading to their churches’ closure within a year.

She said, “I didn’t want to say anything about the church brouhaha that’s going on until I saw clips from today’s service. Because there’s nothing I hate more than gaslighting. Everybody saw the video. We all saw the video. And from the video, we can tell who the aggressor was.

“In case you have forgotten, this pastor stopped his car, wined down, held an object that looks like a firearm and told this boy, ‘Don’t do that, don’t do that…’

“And from what I remembered, the boy was even hailing the pastor in that video. There are so many car spotters all around the world. I don’t see what that boy was doing wrong. I don’t see how he was being aggressive. How was he being aggressive?
“Nothing pain me pass the gullible congregation that was clapping and cheering. Because what are you clapping and cheering for?

“Didn’t you watch the video or you have selective blindness? And let me make this very clear, 90 per cent of our Nigerian Pastors will not get away with what they do in Nigeria outside Nigeria. The kind of Christianity they practice, if they try it anywhere outside Nigeria their church will close down within a year. But because he is a pastor, some people are making excuses for him.

“So anybody holding a phone now is aggressive? This selective hypocrisy is so crazy. Let’s stop being hypocrites.”

She emphasised she deserves respect and will not tolerate disrespect from anyone.

She said: “You guys would not believe that I saw so many Nigerians today, which was great. But the craziest part is that they would see you and won’t say hi to you.

“I can’t even start to count how many white people complimented me today, including a high school kid and an old man. The crazy thing was that the Nigerians that saw me today, what came into their heads was to bring out their phones and record me.

“Let me sound this warning: if you see me on the road and don’t say hi to me, it’s fine. I don’t need anybody to say hi to me, and I’m not going to say hi to you either. But don’t bring out your phone to record me.”
