    Yul Edochie: Why I don’t post my kids with May on social media 

    Actor Yul Edochie has denied reports suggesting he is estranged from his children with his first wife, May Edochie, insisting that they remain close.

    Speaking in a recent interview on the KaaTruths podcast, Yul said he maintains regular contact with his children and continues to support them financially, including covering aspects of their university education.

    “I am in contact with my children. I have heard a lot of things. About people saying ‘he abandoned his children’. My second son just got into the university months ago. He just did his matriculation a few days back. Infact, he told me a day before time, and I told him I was busy. “The main issue is not on social media. I would rather not say anything. I don’t want to say my ex-wife did this, my ex-wife did that. Real men don’t tackle issues like that. It is all family stuff , nobody is perfect,” he said.

    The actor attributed his silence on social media about his children to a court order related to his ongoing divorce case with May, citing their safety.

    “There is also a court order. There is a divorce case going on. That is why I cannot really speak. It says anything that has to do with the children, for their own safety, I should not post,” he added.

    Yul and May’s divorce proceedings, initiated in 2023, have been stalled over issues like marriage dissolution terms and adultery claims.

    Yul married actress Judy Austin as his second wife in 2022, prompting May to file for divorce and seek N100 million in damages.

    Actor Yul Edochie has expressed concerns over the growing number of children who cannot speak their native languages, describing the trend as a “failure that must be corrected.”

    Edochie made the remarks in a post on his official Facebook page, where he particularly addressed Igbo parents, lamenting that many children of Igbo heritage today are unable to communicate fluently in the language, blaming it on neglect by their families.

    “Many of us who are Igbos, our children cannot speak Igbo. It’s a failure on our part that must be corrected moving forward,” he wrote

    His remarks have sparked fresh debate on social media, with some agreeing on the need to preserve indigenous languages, while others pointed to the dominance of English in schools and society as a major challenge. 

    The actor had also urged Igbos to embrace Omenaani (traditional customs) and described ancestors as guardian angels, stressing the importance of returning to cultural roots.

    Actor Yul Edochie has addressed colleagues, saying they should strive to deliver exceptional performances, regardless of their pay. 

    According to Yul on Instagram, even if an actor is paid a modest fee of N10,000 for a role, they should aim to give a performance worth $100 million. 

    He warned that providing a subpar performance based on low pay would lead to failure.

    Yul stressed that the acting profession demands excellence, and delivering a stellar performance, even if unpaid, is the key to greatness. 

    “As an actor, If you accept a 10k fee for a movie role, you must give a 100 million dollar performance. Don’t give 10k performance because you were paid 10k. That’s your road to failure.

    ” Even if you accept to do the job for free,
    You must give a 100-million-dollar performance. That’s what the acting profession demands. That’s your road to greatness,” he wrote.

    Actor Yul Edochie has been conferred with the chieftaincy title “Isi Ogidi Ntorobia Niine,” which means, Warrior Leader of Igbo Youths Worldwide.

    He announced the news on Instagram, describing it as a historic moment and the beginning of a new era for the Igbo people.

    According to Yul Edochie, the title is a divine appointment, stating that he’s been “Chosen by God, backed up by the spirits in Igbo Land and my ancestors.”

    He emphasised that with great power comes great responsibility, declaring, “Indeed, a new dawn is here”.

    “History has just been made. A new dawn has come in Igbo land.

    Controversial actor Yul Edochie has addressed Ndi Igbo on the selection of traditional rulers, urging them to preserve their cultural heritage.

    Yul, on Instagram, emphasised that traditional rulers should be selected through traditional means, not by election or government intervention.

    According to Yul, a true traditional ruler must be a core traditionalist, chosen by the deity of the land, and sworn to uphold truth, unity, peace, and shun evil.

    Yul expressed concerns about the erosion of traditional values, attributing the rise in crime to the adoption of foreign practices. 

    He called on Ndi Igbo to retrace their steps and reclaim their cultural glory, highlighting the importance of adhering to ancestral ways.

    By upholding traditional methods of selecting rulers, Yul believes that communities can promote accountability and moral leadership.

    “Ndi Igbo, stop messing up our tradition. A traditional ruler must be selected traditionally, not by election or the government. And he must be a core traditionalist. Those are the ways of our forefathers.

    “We have now embraced too many of the white man’s ways and destroyed our society with it. That’s why there’s so much crime in our communities today.

    It’s time to retrace our steps and bring back our glory. 

    “A traditional ruler must be selected by the deity of the land. Then he will swear before the deity to uphold truth, unity and peace, and shun evil. Any day he goes against the oath, the deity will strike him down. With that, he will never support evil, and he’ll fight evil with all his might”, he wrote.

    Edochie said God called him to guide Africans toward their cultural heritage, asserting that these traditions are divinely approved and provide a path to salvation.

    Expressing pride in his identity as a traditionalist, the actor criticised the lasting influence of Western culture on Africans, which he believes has made many feel ashamed of their roots.

    He reaffirmed his dedication to his Igbo heritage, vowing never to be embarrassed by his traditional beliefs and practices.

    He said: “God gave me a clear and direct message. Lead my people back to their traditional ways. For their ways are approved by me the Lord God Almighty.

A true native doctor is a servant of God Almighty”, he wrote.
