    About Alero-Ladipo’s return

    The return of Tolu Alero-Ladipo to the United Bank for Africa (UBA) has been greeted with so much joy by many of her team members.

    Alero, who has a background in Law, has built her career in Marketing and Communication with over 17 years of experience in Strategy Development, Customer and Product Portfolio Management, Public and Media Relations, and Integrated Marketing. Her illustrious career spans various establishments that include: the World Intellectual Property Organization, Nigerian Institute on International Affairs, Vic Lawrence and Associates, Stanbic IBTC Bank Nigeria Ltd, Standard Bank, Union Bank, Smile Communications, Old Mutual Nigeria, and UBA.

    Of all where she has worked, UBA remains dear to her, having led as head of Marketing between June 2017 and May 2018. She left for five years and returned to UBA in April 2023, where she holds the position of Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications.

    That Alero-Ladipo is experienced when it comes to marketing and corporate communication is an understatement as she exudes confidence and poise working in the terrain and to the delight of her employer and team members.

    Since her return, Alero-Ladipo has been making a significant impact and giant strides in the marketing and corporate communications.

    His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom is nettled by spurious social media posts that seem hell-bent on tarnishing his image and bringing disrepute to the throne and the Elegushi palace.

    Recently, the palace expressed deep concern and condemnation of a campaign of calumny against the monarch and the throne.

    Despite ongoing investigations by the police into the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, a.k.a Mohbad, some individuals have continued to spread baseless allegations linking the palace and Oba Saheed Elegushi to the tragic incident.

    What has left the monarch perturbed is the obvious fact that there was no known relationship between the palace, the monarch, and the late singer or his family.

    Temitope Oyefeso, Special Assistant, Public Affairs to HRM, hinted that legal action is being taken both in Nigeria and overseas and the law would take its course in addressing the cyber-attacks and bullying directed at the palace and traditional ruler.

    This is a festive weekend for the royals of the great Warri Kingdom as one of their own hits the bull’s eye of the platinum jubilee. Her royal majesty, the Olori Atuwatse 11, will step out in regal poise as she marks her seventh decade on earth.

    The Olori, HRM Gladys Duroorike Emiko-Atuwatse, Iye-Olu Atuwatse 111, will be celebrated not only by the high and mighty of the Warri Kingdom but by the toasts of Nigerian society from across the country and abroad.

    The event is held today at the Harbour Point in Lagos.

    She is the mother of the king, the dashing Ogiame Atuwatse 111, who ascended the illustrious throne on August 21, 2021.

    She has held her own all her life. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Lagos in 1976 before she proceeded to Kings College London to obtain her Master’s degree in 1977. She was one of a few blacks in her class.

    Born to Mr. Ebenezer Oladunni Shaw and Mrs. Caroline Awele Shaw, she is the fourth of eight children. On September 11, 1978, she married Prince Godwin Toritseju Emiko.

    Olorunnimbe’s Temple Group turns eight

    Idris Olorunnimbe is a good-humoured man striving to achieve greatness but comes across to many as a snob, maybe because of his ambitions and visions.

    Currently, Olorunnimbe is on top of the world as you read this. The reason for his joy, which knows no bounds, is the eighth anniversary of the Temple Group, a conglomerate he founded in 2016.

    Widely referred to as Idriza, Olorunnimbe, who serves as the Group Chief Executive Officer of Temple Company and Ogidi Studios recently rolled out drums to celebrate the occasion with several dignitaries in attendance.

    Spotted at the event include government dignitaries and celebrities like Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, Obi Asika, and Bisola Aiyeola.

    Idiriza took the opportunity to open up on the journey, which he referred to as nothing short of an odyssey.

    He noted that from the initial vision that sparked the birth of Temple to the countless hurdles his team has overcome, it’s been an adventure filled with trials, triumphs, and invaluable lessons.

    A few days after the anniversary, Lee Satterfield, an American diplomat who has served as Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, also visited Idiriza and his team at Ogidi Studios saying, “Ogidi Studios is a testament to the power of music diplomacy. This creative hub brings together artists from the US and Nigeria, fostering cultural exchange and collaboration. By supporting Nigeria’s music industry, we’re strengthening the bonds between our people.”

    On March 20, the British International School in Lagos played host to a grand celebration in honour of the Lagos high chief, ‘Tunde Fanimokun, as he marked his 80th birthday.

    Fanimokun, a well-known figure in public, corporate, and social circles in the city, used this milestone birthday as an opportunity to give back to his community in a significant way. Demonstrating his commitment to education, he announced generous donations to various educational institutions in Lagos state.

    Among the notable contributions made by Fanimokun was the donation of a 7-storey administrative block to the Methodist High School, a campus at Osoolu Island for Yaba College of Technology, a Green Building project aimed at providing a state-of-the-art educational facility for the people of Lagos.

    His philanthropic endeavours also extended to the Quran Community Muslim School in Isale Eko, where he pledged a substantial sum of N50 million towards its development. In addition to these initiatives, he allocated funds for scholarships and medical equipment.

    In honour of his former boss and ex-Governor of Lagos state, the late Lateef Kayode Jakande, Fanimokun established an endowment for good governance at Lagos State University.

    He also initiated an entrepreneurship endowment in the late Wahab Folawiyo’s name at Yaba College of Technology.

    Accomplished woman Dorcas Oluwafunmilola Bakare is over the moon as she strolls into the world of octogenarians. She’s privileged to have hit the milestone age of 80, even though her ageless traits and energy do not suggest she’s been around for eight decades.

    Meanwhile, beyond the celebration of numbers, the Ondo State-born widow of late successful businessman, Alhaji Tijani Bakare, is relishing and celebrating grace, fulfilment, and favour.

    Setting out in life, Madam Bakare did not only get her priorities right by setting her goals, she was lucky to have come from a background where she was well brought up and armed with qualities that were helpful to her course. She was imbued with the virtues of hard work, honesty, and dedication to whatever she found herself engaged in.

    When she got married, Madam Bakare was fortunate to have found the man of her dreams with whom she entered this phase of life. She was smart enough to discern that her offspring would be her best legacy, therefore, she spent her youthful age training and moulding her children accordingly.

    She equally contributed immensely to the success of the business empire of her husband. She no doubt played the role of a dutiful wife and mother perfectly. Her husband, to whom she was dedicated and devoted, passed on, and she too, at the instance of old age, retired from active business activities, but certainly not without leaving imprints of her successes that are still evident.

    Family set for Diya’s remembrance

    In 2023, the illustrious household of the Diya family in Ogun State, was thrown into mourning when the Grim Reaper visited and took away the family’s patriarch, retired General Oladipo Donaldson Diya.

    The families were troubled. Not that the retired army general didn’t live a fulfilled life, he rose to the pinnacle of his military career, he was Chief of General staff to the late Sani Abacha between 1993 and 1997 and he was regarded as one of the finest military officers the country has produced.

    This beautiful legacy has been the consolation his family has held onto since his demise.

    To show that his memory eternally lingers on in their minds, the family has concluded plans to hold a memorial service in honour of the Ogun-State-born top military brass.

    A series of events have been lined up for this purpose, commencing from Tuesday, March 26.

    The event is expected to take place at Tanimowo Villa, Oladipo Diya Road Oke-Mosan Odogbolu, Ogun State, while his posthumous birthday ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 3 at his Ikeja GRA residence.

    Top dignitaries have been invited for these events with the family’s eldest son, Barrister Oyesinminlola Diya writing an emotionally laden tribute in honour of his father.

    “On this anniversary, we celebrate the beautiful life you lived and the enduring impact you’ve had on us. The wisdom, the discipline, the love and everything you taught us will walk with us through our lifetime and we will always carry the name Diya with dignity. As we mark the anniversary of your passing, we hope you’re there smiling down on us. Lots of love, your surviving widow and children,” he wrote.

    Babajimi Adegoke Benson is one man whose cup of joy is overfilled because of the Lord’s doings in his life. Benson, widely referred to as JB, has continued to surpass his achievements since his entrance into the world of politics.

    After making headway and landmark strides in the public and private sectors, the trained lawyer took on the role of a lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives in 2015.

    Benson stands tall among 52-year-olds in Nigeria and beyond as one who has won the hearts of his people in Ikorodu and continues to make an impact on humanity across Nigeria.

    The occasion was the unveiling of The Macallan’s Masterpiece – The Reach, and the two gentlemen were spotted enjoying a few glasses of the high-end whiskey.
