    Transcorp’s financial growth excites Owen Omogiafor

    Owen Omogiafo, president and group chief executive officer of Transnational Corporation Plc, is excited about the growth in the financial success of the conglomerate.

    The excitement is not unconnected with the rise of the conglomerate’s revenue to N197 billion in the year ended December 31, 2023.

    The 47.3% year-on-year increase in revenue has seen Omogiafor giving kudos to her team and the conglomerate’s chairman for believing in her to lead.

    Omogiafo posited that the financial success witnessed by the Transcorp group was largely a result of strategic initiatives.

    “Notwithstanding the strong macroeconomic headwinds in the year, we achieved significant growth in revenue and profits, indicating our ability to navigate a dynamic market landscape effectively,” Omogiafo said.

    Omogiafo also said the company’s primary objectives are to deliver sustainable growth, enhance operational and technical efficiency, and maximise shareholder value.

    The brilliant Omogiafo has continued to excel and display raw and uncommon mastery of running the Transcorp group to the admiration of the group’s chairman and billionaire, Tony Elumelu.

    The two were not just mere attendees of the institution; they were active members of the Delta Company, which gave an exciting parade during the 1996 anniversary weekend at the institution.

    The event was attended by top Islamic clerics like Isiaq Oloyede Jubril Salaudeen, and Dr. Mustapha Adebayo Bello, among other top dignitaries who graced the occasion.

    Adeleke Odunuga joins league of septuagenarians

    A prominent community leader and Justice of the Peace, Adeleke Albert Odunuga, joined the league of septuagenarians on Wednesday, March 27, when he turned 70.

    Odunuga, who hails from Odogbolu, Ogun State, is a retired public servant who left the service of the Lagos State Civil Service in 2010 after a meritorious 35 years of service.

    An alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo University as well as the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Topo, Badagry, Lagos, Odunuga was born to Mr. Gabriel Adeneye Odunuga and Mrs. Dorcas Adeola Odunuga, on March 27, 1954, at No 53 Cemetery Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

    He had his formative years in Zaria, and Kafanchan, where his father, a Nigerian Railway Corporation worker had been transferred and returned to Lagos to further his secondary education.

    After his retirement, Odunuga was appointed a customary court judge by the Lagos State Judiciary Service Commission between 2018 and 2023, during which period he served in various customary courts and other judiciary institutions within the commission. He is currently a visiting customary court judge to various courts in the state.

    He is married to Deaconess Iyabode Alake Odunuga, (Nee Adeniji) and the marriage contracted 41 years ago is blessed with four children and many grandchildren.
