    The eighth Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly, Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa is a man who shies away from undue publicity or attention.

    However, those close to him hinted that the Agege truly born like to have fun in good and quality measures.

    Recently, Obasa gathered friends, relatives, and colleagues to celebrate the birthday of one of his wives, who turned 40 and those present on the occasion attested to how quality the shindig was. However, the gist in town is not about what he has done but what Obasa is currently up to.

    Sources disclosed that the Lagos Speaker will turn 50 in a few days’ time and he’s planning really big for the day. On November 11, Obasa would glide into the golden age of 50 and as the day draws nearer, several plans are already in gear to make the day a grand one. Sources confirmed that at the moment, invitations are being sent out to dignitaries, friends, and associates of the speaker, who are expected to make the occasion a grand one.

    There would also be a novelty match with members of the Lagos House of Assembly as part of activities building up to the birthday. The soiree which will have Fuji maestro, K1 D Ultimate, on the bandstand, is expected to take place in Lagos as Obasa celebrates at 50.

    48-year-old, His Royal Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has undoubtedly embarked on a mission, which can be termed as a wifely one. The revered monarch has kept tongues wagging after marrying six women in less than two months.

    Unconfirmed reports insinuate that the Ooni will marry three more women, totaling nine before the start of 2023.

    What has actually kept tongues wagging across Nigeria and beyond is the sudden developments and the unthinkable number of queens arriving at the Ife palace in quick succession. While this has provoked a flurry of reactions, some have backed the Onirisa with traditional themes while others have disagreed with the traditional argument.

    Ooni’s journey to filling his harem with a bevy of beauties is incomplete with the many royal cum romantic rumble which saw two of his marriages crashing within the spate of five years – Zaynab-Otiti Obanor in 2017, and Naomi Silekunola in 2021.

    This is aside from his failed marriage to Adebukola Bombata in 2008. Seemingly unfazed by the avalanche of criticisms that have trailed his ‘wifely journey,” the 51st Ooni of Ife has forged ahead in ushering his new queen.

    Currently in Ooni’s harem are two princesses, two fashionistas, a tech expert, and others. They are Olori Mariam Ogunwusi from Ebira ethnic group in Kogi State, Elizabeth Opeoluwa Akinmuda, Elizabeth Akinmuda, Tobi Phillips, Princess Ashley Adegoke, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi, and Temitope Adesegun.

    Sanwo-Olu heaps praise on Julius Rone

    Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has heaped praises on Julius Rone, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO) of one of the leading energy conglomerates on the continent, UTM Group of Companies.

    This is coming after Rone was honoured with the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) by President Muhammadu Buhari. In his congratulatory message to Rone, the Lago State governor described the national award as “a high-level recognition of Rone’s remarkable standing and accomplishments in the energy industry, as the (GMD/CEO) of one of the leading energy conglomerates on the continent.”

    Sanwo-Olu went further to extol Rone’s business astuteness and virtues, saying that his vision and ambition, over the years, have set him apart, “and helped drive the development of large-scale projects, including, most recently, the first floating Liquefied Natural Gas Plant in Nigeria, and the first of its kind to be led in Africa by an African-owned company.”

    Rone, sources say, has been relishing in the national honour and many of his friends are still celebrating the man of means and virtue widely known as the King of Gas.

    The Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has scored another goal.  Coker has continued to make laudable feats since his emergence as the NTDC boss. Recently, the agency under the wings of Coker launched, ‘Tour Nigeria,’ a new product to reinvent the nation’s tourism industry.

    Announcing the new innovation, Coker stated that the product is being launched to utilise the potential of tourism for economic growth. In a brief chat, Coker and his team identified the need to deploy technological solutions for sectoral growth across the tourism value chain in Nigeria.

    “As a Corporation, we launched ‘Tour Nigeria’ as the strategic vision to market domestic tourism across the country in 2017 and we also designed an ambitious plan to reinvent the tourism industry through the CHIEF PLAN, which is an acronym that stands for Corporate Governance, Human Capital Development, Infrastructure Development, Events, and Financing.

    A number of young Nigerians scattered across the country are beginning to restrategise towards the actualisation of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition.

    The move is coming following the realisation that more needs to be done by the followers of Tinubu’s school of politics to ensure the renewed HOPE mantra is achieved.

    One of the individuals leading this team is Tokunbo Wahab, a current special adviser to the governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Wahab, sources say has a team of young men that includes tech experts, media juggernauts, strategy experts, and branding and advertising experts, who are giving their all to ensure Tinubu’s dream becomes a reality.

    Those in the know revealed that former Special Adviser to the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Babajide Fadoju, and brand cum strategy expert, Victor Ganzallo are working closely with Wahab towards actualising the dream.

    Another individual, who has also joined the emerging BATsmen is a trained lawyer, strategist, and entrepreneur, Idris Olorunnimbe. Insiders further disclosed that while the emerging BATsmen, as they love to be called, are working with Tinubu’s dream, they are also working studiously towards the re-election of Sanwo-Olu for a second term.

    Wahab, Olorunnimbe, Fadoju, and Ganzallo are also said to be working with the Alfred brothers – Lanre Alfred and Kayode Alfred – who are known for their business acumen.

    Some of the distinct features of Chief Alabi are entrenched in his growing up and youthful days when he was class captain from primary two to primary four, school mail boy in primary five, and school head boy in primary six.

    Those who know the jovial and fun-loving Alabi will readily tell you his exploits as an appointee of Governor ‘Bola Ige, where he served as the press secretary in charge of television matters. He went on to serve three military successors of Governor Ige as the press secretary till 1989 when he was appointed the pioneer Public Affairs Manager of the Odu’a Investment Company Limited. Alabi voluntarily retired from the Odu’a Group in 2006 as the pioneer General Manager, Corporate Affairs.

    A seemingly happy Onari couldn’t hide her joy as other directors felicitated her by singing the birthday song after which a moderate birthday cake was cut and shared with all the directors in attendance.

    Recently, Aisha received a posthumous award for her late mum from the Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Dame Pauline Tallen, after attending the Ministry’s event to celebrate the 2022 International Day for Rural Women.

    At the event, Aisha highlighted the achievements and activities of the Better Life Project for Rural Women, inaugurated by her late mother, and reiterated the support and solidarity to and for the rural woman and her community.

    With a clear and systematic approach to support the entire agricultural value chain, from the cultivation, processing and distribution of food, Aisha has taken the organisation to a higher level to enhance the agricultural sector of Nigeria.

    A grateful and elated Aisha thanked the minister for noticing and rewarding the activities of the organisation and by extension lauding the legacies of her late mother.

She was an influential personality in the Lagos nightlife with a base in Ikoyi, where her father’s nightclub, Bacchus Night Club reigned supreme.

    Louise was fearless and feared by many while she ran the nightclub before it was shut down after the passing away of her doting father.

    Married to upwardly mobile businessman, Mario Bou Harb, Louise has continued to find peace and joy in her union while growing a family.

Not many knew but her close circle of friends will readily tell you that the mother of three, Khaii, Ayla, and Ora, is the proud owner of Posh Cafe.

    One of the reasons Louise has been expressing gratitude to God almighty every day is that she welcomed her third child and second daughter at the age of 45. Six months, Louise was heavy with her third child, Ora, who turned five months old over the week. Louise can’t stop gushing over her kids and her husband at every opportunity and those close to the family stressed that for Louise and Mario, family is everything.
