    Adigun marks 50 with prayers

THE usual saying that men of substance do not wear gold but if you scratch them, you see gold is true of Alhaji Ismaila Adigun, an Abuja-based senior executive.

Adigun could be aptly described as a socialite with a difference due to his modesty. As he clocks 50 today, instead of the usual practice of throwing big parties to mark a milestone age, he has decided to mark his diamond age with prayers.

Adigun’s life started exactly 50 years ago in Osogbo when he was born into the family of Alhaji Ibrahim Adepoju Adigun of Owolabi’s compound Osogbo.

His company, Segaba International Limited, where he serves as General Manager, works closely with the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Abuja headquarters.

A holder of a Master of Business Administration, Adigun is a member of two professional bodies – Nigeria Institute of Management and Chartered Institute of Marketing. He has visited many countries, including Saudi Arabia, France, United States, United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates.

He is married to a US-trained physiotherapist, Shakirat Adigun, and they are blessed with three children.

  • About Adebola Williams and TFA

    About Adebola Williams and TFA

MANY years ago, precisely in 2006, Adebola Williams, Chude Jideonwo and Emilia Asim-Ita introduced The Future Awards (TFA). Although Asim-Ita died on Friday, January 29, 2021, she will always be a part of the awards ceremony.

The first edition of the show was held at Magnolia Hall, City Mall, Lagos, with little hope for tomorrow. But it has grown to be one of the most respected youth awards in Africa.

It is also interesting to note that none of the founding members are directly involved in the planning of the ceremony at the moment.

While celebrating the organising members for the recently held edition, Williams singled out the efforts of  Seun Oluyemi and Bukola Adebakin.

He said: “Dear Otunba Seun and Bukonla Adebakin, I couldn’t be prouder experiencing the magical evening at The Future Awards Africa as a guest on Sunday night.  You both and your incredible team of Todah, Desmond, Emeka, Ngozi, Lekan, Somidotun, Harry, Oshodi, Gibson Khadijah and everyone else delivered an excellent show. I am proud of you and excited to truly retire.

“Thank you to all my friends and associates for your calls and messages. The glory is indeed to God and these amazing guys. The vision lives now in the hands of those we have groomed and indeed a proud moment.”

Adebakin started with the company as a greenhorn but she has risen through the ranks to become a team lead of The Future Project. Oluyemi Seun, similarly, was a volunteer in 2006 and now leads TFA’s team.
