He noted that people must understand and believe that with God all things are possible.

“Nigeria is in recession today, but that is today; tomorrow the way God fixed the economy of Samaria, the same God will fix the economy of Nigeria. It won’t take more than 24 hours, so Nigerians should believe in God and have faith and hope in God that 2017 will be a better year,” he said.

Adeboye, who spoke through the Provincial Pastor, Province 9, Pastor Samuel Olaniyan, opined that things may be difficult in the outgoing year, better days are ahead when people change our attitude to God, their families and neighbour.

Although he asserted that we cannot abandon oil as it is what we have today to survive, he said that we need to diversify away from oil.

  • Adeboye to Christians: live in righteousness

Adeboye to Christians: live in righteousness

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said salvation, holiness and enduring God’s power are important for believers to enjoy God’s divine presence and power on earth and in eternity.

The renowned cleric spoke at the ongoing 64th annual convention of RCCG at the Old Arena of the Redemption Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The programme, tagged: Amen, started with a fun-filled parade by the children and teenage group of the church.

They had bible recitations and poems in English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Pilgil; dance and short playlet adapted from the Book of Revelation II and III.

The meaning of Amen was explained in the three languages.

Also, 5,880 students have graduated from the Redeemed Bible College.

Adeboye said God would not look on anyone when he or she was covered in sins because “His eyes are too holy to behold sin, wickedness and ungodliness of men”.

The general overseer said there were conditions for seeing God at the end of life, adding that if a believer was not ready to live a holy life, he would not see God.

He said: “Of what use is being called a Christian, if at the end of the day, we don’t see God. I have said it again and again: if you don’t have the intention of going to heaven, you don’t waste your time being a Christian. Enjoy your life and use every method to fail heaven so that when you get to hell, you can tell the devil you tried.”

Adeboye noted that “to come to church with us, carry the Bible and sing with us and still go to hell, that will be very unfortunately and a big regret”.

The cleric spoke on a topic, titled: You Shall See God, noted that seeing God would depend on a promise, prophesy and decree from God.

He said: “It is a tremendous possibility that anyone could see God.”

Adeboye urged Christians to jettison anything that would prevent them from making heaven.

He recalled that when he became the general overseer of the church, the pressure and burden of the work pressed him down.

He said: “My consolation with my wife was that God would soon come and all the problems would be over.”

The renowned preacher cited Moses in the scriptures, recalling that the prophet was so close to God that He spoke to him one-on-one.

Adeboye said the greatest desire in the heart of Moses, despite his intimacy with God, was to see Him.

The cleric said God has made a provision in the blood of Jesus, which could wash away every sin, if manking could come to Him by faith.

In his words, the President Pastor of Jestur Divan Ministries, Pastor Bamidele Sturdivant charged Christian leaders to be unapologetic, uncompromising and unwavering in the discharged of their responsibility of reaching the world for Christ.

He said that the task of the great commission is not for the faint hearted or those who can be easily intimidated, but strong men with a strong determination to preach the gospel without looking back.

He noted that the even though the world is deprave and does not love God or preserve or degenerated; the gospel prospect of Amen does not change the assignment or expectation.

He warned against using prophesy or financial gain like some ministers of God do in the western world and try to fool people into accepting Christ is wrong and ungodly.

He said we are the light of the world and we must position ourselves strategically so that our light will never be hidden e work of the gospel must be carried out
