Grammy-nominated singer Davido has shared the emotional journey he’s undergone since the loss of his son, Ifeanyi, who passed away in a drowning incident at the singer’s Banana Island home in November 2022.

Almost a year later, Davido and his wife, Chioma, welcomed twin-a boy and a girl.

The singer ,in a chat with Apple Music, revealed that the resemblance between his late son and the newborn boy is “scary,” adding that it’s as if Ifeanyi had “come back.”

He said: “That type of loss made you just be like, ‘I’m out’. I am just going to chill, take care of my wife and take care of the family and get my head right. To come back from that and…to be blessed with twins out the gate; a boy and a girl.

“And, the boy looks just like my son (Ifeanyi) that passed. It is scary. It’s like literally him. We’re like, “No, it’s him. He came back” type stuff.”

The loss significantly impacted Davido but he has since found solace in family and music.

He credits his marriage to Chioma and the success of his 2023 album “Timeless” to God’s intervention, which has strengthened his faith.

Davido also believes the painful experience has transformed him into someone who encourages and inspires others facing hardships.
