  • Kumuyi urges Christians in leadership to shun corruption

Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church on Sunday, urged Christians in leadership positions to shun corruption and act as exemplary leaders for others to follow.

Kumuyi, who was represented by the church’s Camp Commandant, Pastor Andrew Umor, gave the advice at the grand finale of the 2018 National Easter Retreat of Church in Lagos.
The cleric said only the righteousness would move the country forward, adding that the retreat was to teach Christians how to shine as light in whatsoever positions they found themselves.

“We have had so much about corruption in Nigeria, but we know that true Christianity brings a difference and that is what this retreat is all about.

“It is about teaching believers to shine as light and be different from the unbelievers.

“Christians should not embezzle money in their offices but live according to the testimony of Christ,’’ the cleric said.

He also stressed the need for Christians to lead with conscience in leadership position,
able to deliver a different path to the nation, urging Christian leaders in Nigeria to return to the Bible.

Cleric said that the message in the convention was about having faith in Christ and repentance into a life that transformed society.

He underscored the need for Christians to be heirs of God’s Kingdom before they could inherit the provisions and treasures of God’s kingdom.

“If we return to the Bible and the basis and the truth that the Bible teaches, we won’t be having all these problems we have been having because therein lies all the solutions.

“The Word of God is the light the nation and righteousness exalts the nation so, if we return to the word, the way it is; then, there will be less problems,’’ he said.

The Lagos Moderator of the Church, Pastor Bayo Oyeyemi also that the outpouring of the power of God at the convention was because the participants prepared for the programme.

“We see the excitement and the outpouring of the power of God upon the people of God.

‘’It did not just happen ordinarily but people were full of expectations, prayers and preparations.

“Nigerians should seek more of God and look unto Him because He is our maker and we must put Him first.

“The solution to crisis in Nigeria is God. God didn’t create man with crisis. Crisis is man-made and the solution is of God.

“If Nigerians will repent, Nigeria will be another heaven on earth,” Oyeyemi said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the annual convention entitled “Heirs of His Kingdom” commenced on March 29 and ended on April 1. (NAN)

Kumuyi charges leaders to focus on evangelism

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has charged church leaders to remain focussed on the great commission and avoid all forms of distraction that lead the church to nowhere.

Kumuyi said this at the just-concluded National Leadership Strategy Congress organised by the church at the Deeper Life Conference Centre, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

The programme, which featured prayers, bible teachings, workshops and prophetic ministration, brought together thousands of workers and pastors of the church.

He advised that the church must remain committed and obedient to the great commission of reaching the whole world for Christ as it remains the heartbeat of God for this time.

He stated that some activities being put up by some churches today are mere distraction and a snare from the devil to distract them away from the things that have any eternal value.

Kumuyi said that the gospel of Jesus Christ reached Africa because of the un-relentless efforts of the missionaries who against all odds sacrificed their lives, time, and skills to preach the gospel in Africa.

“We cannot remain idle or indifference to the acts of wining souls for Christ. It is one thing that should matter to us as believers as the end of the world is near,” he said.

He added that millions of souls are rushing towards a lost eternity. “Believers must, therefore, throw aside all flimsy excuses as there is no trouble too great, no humiliation too deep, no suffering too severe, no labour too hard, and no expense too much in saving souls. We must arise therefore, pray and do the work,” the cleric declared.

Kumuyi asserted that opportunities for evangelism abound daily on the streets, hospitals, motor parks, bus stops, inside the bus or taxi, prisons, homes of neighbours, schools, markets, urging the soul-winner not to wait for a perfect opportunity as every situation is an opportunity.

•Deeper Life Easter Retreat begins tomorrow

DEEPER Christian Life Ministry General Superintendent Pastor W. F. Kumuyi has urged Nigerians to turn to God in repentance as the antidote to present and future challenges confronting them.
The cleric, who spoke as the church announced its Easter Retreat for this year, said: “The road to full recovery from the battles of life, lie not in the ingenuity or effort of men, but in seeking the path back to God.
“The Almighty alone, holds the key to all solutions to the problems confronting us today.”
In a statement by the church, the Easter programme will begin from tomorrow to Sunday and it is part of the church’s yearly calendar.
The theme of the retreat is: “Discovering the secret of conquering with the Crucified King”.
According to Pastor Kumuyi, “whether as individuals or communities, the antidote to present and future challenges can only be found when men sincerely turn from evil conducts, approach God with reverence and ask for His help.
“At a time when the nation is going through harsh economic challenges, when social issues have also grown in magnitude, and when many people are literally losing hope that respite is near, the Easter Retreat presents an opportunity to come face to face with God, introspect, and chart a new course in life,”
He added: “God uses all situations to bring about positive change in the lives of people, and even nations, but that is if those affected take steps to turn from their current direction in life, and submit whole heartedly to God, with a desire to steadfastly trust Him for the blessings of heaven.”
The church said the Easter Retreat would hold in all local councils across the country.
It will also take place in 30 African nations, as well as in Europe, North America and Asia.
In Lagos, the programme will take place at the Deeper Life Conference Centre, Km 42, Lagos Ibadan Expressway.
Pastor Kumuyi will personally handle teaching and revival sessions, which will be broadcast by satellite to all other locations in Nigeria and overseas.

  • Kumuyi urges members, others to conquer with Christ

Kumuyi urges members, others to conquer with Christ

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi, has said would-be participants at the church’s national Easter retreat of God’s special empowerment should conquer life’s challenges in these perilous times.

Pastor Kumuyi, who expressed optimism that the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead will liberate participants from bondage, announced that the event with the theme, ‘Conquering with the Crucified King’ will  take place from Thursday, April 23 to Sunday, April 26, 2017 at the Deeper Life Conference Centre (DLCC) on KM 48, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

According to the cleric, the programme will take place simultaneously in all the states, regions and local government camp grounds within Nigeria, other locations in Africa and beyond.

In a statement signed by him, the General Superintendent promised that just as Christ conquered death and all his enemies when he declared “it is finished” on the cross of Calvary, even so shall all participants have their life challenges torn asunder and uprooted at the retreat.

“We live in perilous times, when societies are filled with cries of agony, stories of anguish, terror, sadness and of hopelessness; when frustration is driving many people to take their own lives; when people are having their expectations and hopes dashed; miseries and confusion have become the order of the day, and governments of many countries have come to a crossroads.

“It has become clear to many people that there is no solution from man. We hear about cases of kidnapping, assassinations, bare-faced wickedness, even as many experience insecurity and extreme poverty. The world at best is in turmoil. These are the fulfillments of the scriptures. But we are not alarmed because, Christ our mighty Captain declared with a loud voice on the cross of Calvary that ‘it is finished’. We have nothing to fear,” Pastor Kumuyi further added.

According to him, “the theme of this year’s Easter Retreat, like others before it, has been carefully thought through, given the goings on around the globe. What this retreat means to us as members of the church is to take a break from the prevailing hustling and bustling  for spiritual rearmament and refocusing . This is because, no one can be triumphant in this sin-filled and challenging world without divine empowerment. Again, for visitors, the retreat will help them to discover themselves and then realise that by strength shall no man prevail. The retreat promises to be a time of refreshing for both old and new, members and non-members alike.”

He urged Nigerians to “look up to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith”, particularly at a time when the country is ploughing through one of its worst epochs since Independence.

“The point at which we are in the country demands divine intervention. That may not be quick in coming unless we all intercede for Nigeria and resolve to do things in a better, different way.”

Embrace love, shun sin, kumuyi tells Nigerians

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi has charged Nigerians to embrace the virtue of love, neigbourliness and eschew all forms of bitterness if they expect something great from God in the New Year.

Kumuyi said this last week at the Watch Night Service of the church held at the International Bible Training Centre, Ayobo, Lagos.

In his message tagged: Key to close and open significant doors, Kumuyi said that unforgiveness, hidden sin and hatred will lock the doors of blessings against many in the New Year.

He said that God is still in the business of doing wonders and blessing his people if they can only shun sin and allow his words to guide them in their daily activities.

He stressed that human effort or disposition without acknowledging the place of God would always bring depression, heartache and despair.

That God does not work by earthly calendar. There is no magical thing in the calendar of God or about the New Year. If we regard iniquity in our heart, God will not hear our prayers.

Kumuyi said “no matter the socio-economic changes in our world today, God will never change his standards to suit any individual or church because he is a holy God and he requires that his people be holy and without blemish.

He added that no matter our prayers, without prompt obedience to God’s word, it would also amount to mere religion that does not add any value.

He posited that we must not allow the New Year to deceive us as God remains the same and his words, principles, and demands remain the same.

Kumuyi continued: “the world may want to control our conviction, life and soul but we will need to always draw the line so that we can keep ourselves unspotted in these perilous world.”

Kumuyi assured Nigerians of victory over every foe, dominion and rest when we remain in the very centre of God’s will.

He assured everyone that God will wipe away all tears from their eyes this year,  Stating that believers trust in God guarantees total victory over sin, enemies, sickness, evil powers, evil personalities.

“God is blessing us, our state and nation and there will be no carry over of our problem in the new year.”

The founder said the nation would overcome its challenges with faith and trust in God.

“We must go beyond religious demarcation and show ourselves that we are brothers and sisters.

“Let’s us love one another. We should extend hands of fellowship to our neighbours,” Obasa said.

Releasing prophesies for 2017 in the ministry’s annual Zoe World Congress in Ibadan during the week, Oke said the Lord showed him Boko Haram insurgents would be wiped out next year, paving the way for peace in the Northeast.

“The Northeast is still at a critical stage. The terrorists are still operating but by next year they will be defeated.

“Also, recession will be over in 2017 and there will be abundance in Nigeria.

“Nigerians should not be tired of praying for its leaders,” he said.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on Nigerians to intensify their prayers as things will get better in the New Year.

Adeboye spoke at the Let Go a fishing programme organised by the church yesterday at the Centre for Management Development (CMD) ground in Ikosi, Ketu, Lagos.

He said God was concerned about the suffering of Nigerians and he is willing to intervene and give the country a new beginning “when we leave our sins and ungodly lifestyles and pray unto him by faith”.

He noted that God is not a magician as some would think but a miracle working God and his blessings make rich and add no sorrows for those who will obey him.

“If we believe in God and intensify our prayers to him, I believe that things will get better in 2017.”

Adeboye, who spoke through the Wife of the Assistant General Overseer, Pastor Rachael Odesola, said: “I believe and am hopeful that 2017 will be better and God will restore all that this nation has lost and the economy will bounce back gloriously and we shall all partake of it.”

  • Crowd hosts Kumuyi in Aba

    Crowd hosts Kumuyi in Aba

A mammoth crowd fanned out at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State, as the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry (DLCM) Pastor William Kumuyi preached in his yearly visit there.

Over 100,000 people, among whom were those who came in from outside the city and state, listened to the preacher.

The theme of the crusade was “A Day to Change Your World.”

The crusade lasted over four hours, attracting clergies of other denominations, professionals from all walks of life,  those suffering various ailments and the barren,  amongst others.

Some of them including Pastor Emmanuel Offor said that they could not afford to miss what they described as the undiluted teaching and spiritual impartation of the word of God.

They said that importance of being part of the event especially now that the country is passing through various challenges including insecurity, high cost of living, loss of job and unemployment, among others, cannot be over-emphasised.

Over 20 persons claimed to have been healed of various ailments.

Special prayers were also said for the church, Abia State, the country and its citizens.

There was also a special song rendition from the church’s choir during the event.

Kumuyi spoke on the topic, “A Day to Change Your World”.

He said, “I love the people of Abia State as you know and the brethren and believers in general are quite receptive to the Word of God and they love the Lord and I see their response and I want to be of tremendous benefit to both the people in the church and outside the church and to connect them with the power of God and salvation of the Lord.”

He was asked: What informed the theme of the crusade?

“People are looking for change. There is a kind of national and global problem in various communities, families and problem within individual and then we need a change for the better and God will make that change so because of that we want to tell the people that this day could be the day of hope, healing, advance and the day of moving forward in various ways that is why we have the topic of the theme as ‘’the day for change and wonder of the Lord”.

Another question was how the crusade would impact the life of the average Nigerian in economic recession.

His answer: We understand that in a programme like this we have different kinds of people that is common people that are just concern for their own personal problem and when you heal their problem just like many people today that got some spiritual that they couldn’t receive adequate healing their testimony is that they are heal instantaneously. Other people with eye and other kinds of sickness, and when personal problem like that they are pivotal to their problem and they cannot think for a way forward to even solve their personal problem and fend for themselves when they are release like this it makes them not to see a way forward for themselves not only that there are decision makers in our land that attend some of this program and while they are here they miracle they need we not be like the miracle of healing if they are not saved or miracle of psyche if they are not mind. The Lord can give them a little of wisdom and touch and show them the resources where we can have solutions to the problems (ideas) and ideas are powerful and ideas actually are the things we need to turn our lives around. This is how this kind of programme will help in various ways; we help families, government, decision makers and even the common man on the street, so that is why this program is important as we can change our world by connecting with the Lord.
