My friendship with Seyi Tinubu not political – Odumodublvck

Rapper Odumodublvck has shed light on his relationships with several notable figures, including Seyi Tinubu, Rema, and Burna Boy

Speaking on a recent episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, he described Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, as a close friend.

He clarified that their bond is based on a shared love for music rather than political support, revealing that Seyi once invited him to dinner purely out of admiration for his craft.

Odumodublvck also confirmed his friendship with fellow artist Rema, stating that he sees no reason to hide their relationship.

He also recounted a vivid dream in which he shared a meal of pounded yam with Burna Boy, whom he affectionately calls his “spirit animal.”

The rapper emphasized the importance of authentic friendships, insisting that he refuses to let public opinions dictate who he associates with.

He said: “Rema is my friend. Seyi Tinubu is also my friend. Regardless of his father being the president and people throwing stones at him, he’s my friend. When he invited me to his home for dinner, he didn’t do it for me to support his dad. He did it because he loves my music. I’m a street boy. Seyi has nothing to gain from me. He’s my friend. Forget whatever society is saying.

“The same goes for Rema. Why I no go famz Rema? Who I wan go famz? Adele? Speed Darlington? Akpi is not my friend, him and Burna Boy are my spirit animal—Skepta too. Before I met Burna Boy, I saw him in my dream, and we were eating pounded yam. Burna Boy told me that the day I saw him was the first time he had eaten pounded yam in two years. This thing is not a joke. They think I just cap. They think I talk about Jesus because I’m a fanatic. I’m a big fan of Jesus. Anything I say, I bound here on earth and in heaven, as long as it aligns with the will of God.”

Seyi Tinubu can aspire for elective positions- Arewa Yoruba Youths

The Association of Arewa Yoruba Youths (AAYY) has stated that the rumored governorship ambition of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, is not a crime, emphasising that he is constitutionally qualified to aspire for any elective position like any other citizen.

Recently, discussions about Seyi Tinubu’s potential governorship bid in Lagos State in 2027 have gained traction with several groups reportedly endorsing his candidacy.

In a statement by the group’s National Coordinator, Lawal Hussein Taiye, the AAYY argued that Seyi Tinubu has the constitutional right to contest for any political office in the country.

According to Hussein: “President George H.W. Bush of the USA served as the 41st President, and his son, George W. Bush, became the 43rd President. Additionally, two of President Bush’s sons served as governors of Florida and Texas, completing their tenures successfully without controversy.

“Similarly, in Nigeria, Senator Bukola Saraki served as governor of Kwara State from 2003 to 2011, while his sister, Gbemisola Saraki, served as a senator during the same period. Although Gbemisola later contested to succeed her brother as governor, she was unsuccessful.”

Hussein, who also serves as the National Coordinator of the Tinubu Mukeso Group, stressed the need to encourage qualified individuals to contribute to Nigeria’s progress and development, regardless of their family background.

He added: “What we should be advocating for are leaders of unquestionable character who can drive the country toward progress and development. Focusing on trivial matters will only hinder our journey to achieving Nigeria’s potential.

“With Seyi Tinubu as governor of Lagos State, who knows? It might mark the beginning of a significant transformation for the state. Any Nigerian qualified for a position should be encouraged and supported, as the dividends of good governance benefit everyone.”

Hussein reiterated that the group’s main goal is to ensure a better, united, and peaceful Nigeria, emphasizing that such unity is essential for the nation to become a global force in all spheres of life.

He added: “Nigeria is blessed with abundant human and natural resources that can enable us to compete favorably with any country in the world. However, our focus on divisive issues has kept us from reaching our full potential as a nation. It’s time we prioritize what truly matters to move forward as a united country.”

  • Youth group urges Seyi Tinubu to contest Lagos governorship

Youth group urges Seyi Tinubu to contest Lagos governorship

A youth group, Southern Youth Movement (SYM) has called on Seyi Tinubu to vie for the governorship seat of Lagos State in the 2027 general polls.

In a statement by the group’s National President, High Chief Promise Lawuru, the group insisted the son of President Bola Tinubunis eligible to contest and will get all the needed support.

“We Southern Youth Movement (SYM) hereby call on Engr. Seyi Tinubu to contest the forthcoming 2027 governorship election of Lagos State. Seyi Tinubu is qualified to be a governor in all ramification. Agewise, he is eligible to contest the governorship seat with every requirement from the constitution.

“Seyi is eligible; and the most important thing is that he is a Lagosian. So, we the youths of the Southern Youth Movement are going round all the Southern states to make sure that the youths take over the affairs of governance across the southern states. But first, we are starting with Lagos State. We will definitely go round all the other states in the south to make sure that youths take over the affairs of governance.

“We therefore call on Engr. Seyi Tinubu to contest. We have 101 reason why he should be governor of Lagos State. Seyi Tinubu is a hard working man. We are living in a digital world that needs people with digital experience to handle governance; and we believe that with Seyi becoming the Governor of Lagos State, it will create more expansion in the state. The state right now needs expansion and only people with digital experience can make that come to pass.

“We hereby appeal to everybody, all

Lagosians to see Seyi beyond the ‘President’s son’. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has his name, Seyi Tinubu has his own name. The Nigeria constitution does not ban him from contesting. Therefore, we want the people of this country especially lagosians to see Seyi Tinubu credibility beyond his father being the president.

“Seyi Tinubu has moved the length and breadth of this country and has been making sure that youths participate in this present government; and today, we have Minister of Youths Affairs, people below 40 years occupying major national positions; and all these are Seyi’s efforts.

“So we are pleading with Seyi Tinubu to contest for the 2027 governorship seat of Lagos State. In fact he does not have any choice; if he refuse to contest, we will surely compel him to contest for the good of the people; and this is our stand,” the statement noted.

The group vowed to work towards ensuring that qualified youths in Delta, Edo, Bayelsa and other Southern states, aspire for governorship positions.

“Youths with capable hands shall come and take the centre stage of governance come 2027 and beyond. No state in the south will be excluded. We are beginning with Lagos State and we must achieve this dream”.

“It should be clearly noted that we are not coming to kick out the elders. We are coming to make sure that we plan with our elders because the role of elders is to give advice. So it is time the elders of the country give advice and it’s time for the youths to pilot the affairs of governance,” the group concluded.

NANS dismisses Seyi Tinubu’s alleged interference in leadership transition

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has dismissed allegations by Comrade Jubril Batuta, who claimed that Seyi Tinubu is planning to manipulate the upcoming NANS leadership transition.

In a statement, NANS Senate President, Comrade Akinteye Babatunde, described the accusations as baseless and a deliberate attempt to create division, tarnish reputations, and undermine the integrity of the association.

Babatunde reaffirmed NANS’ commitment to transparency, equity, and accountability, emphasizing that the association remains a strong, autonomous, and democratic student body.

He further clarified that the NANS Constitution provides a clear framework for conducting elections, which is strictly overseen by the Independent NANS Convention Planning Committee (INANS-CPC).

He said: “The INANS-CPC is an independent body charged with upholding the sanctity of the electoral process, ensuring that only qualified and eligible candidates participate. It is inconceivable for any external entity, no matter how influential, to subvert this process or impose candidates on the association.

“The baseless insinuations about ethnic favouritism and purported “Yorubanisation” of the leadership are not only divisive but also antithetical to the ideals of unity and inclusiveness that NANS represents.

“It is a gross disservice to the millions of Nigerian students we represent to peddle such inflammatory rhetoric, particularly when the mechanisms for addressing grievances and verifying claims exist within the association.

“The Senate Secretariat wishes to remind all aspirants and stakeholders that the forthcoming leadership transition is a call to service, not an arena for personal or ethnic aggrandizement.

“Instead of engaging in unfounded propaganda, it is expedient for all aspirants to focus on articulating their manifestos, engaging with the students, Senators, and stakeholders, and demonstrating their readiness to champion the collective interests of Nigerian students.

“The NANS Constitution enshrines the principles of geopolitical zoning, fairness, and meritocracy. Any aspirant found to be ineligible or in contravention of the rules will be duly disqualified by the INANS-CPC, which remains resolute in its mandate to conduct free, fair, and credible elections.

“We wish to reiterate that the autonomy of NANS is non-negotiable, and no individual or group, regardless of stature or affiliation, can override the collective will of Nigerian students.

“To this end, we urge Comrade Batuta and other aspirants to refrain from propagating unverified claims that can jeopardize the cohesion and integrity of our association.

“NANS remains a beacon of hope, a symbol of unity, and a vanguard for the interests of Nigerian students. We are resolute in our commitment to upholding these ideals and will not be deterred by distractions or attempts to discredit our processes.”

  • Igbos in Lagos will thrive under Seyi Tinubu- Obidike

Igbos in Lagos will thrive under Seyi Tinubu- Obidike

Igbos in Lagos will thrive better with Seyi Tinubu as Governor, a community leader, Chief Obidike Chukwuebuka, has assured.

He said Seyi Tinubu’s leadership would be a blessing to the Igbo community in Lagos.

Obidike, in a statement, argued: “For starters, Seyi Tinubu has a proven track record of promoting unity and inclusivity. His experience in leadership positions has equipped him with the skills necessary to bring people together and foster a sense of community. This is particularly important for Igbos in Lagos, who often face unique challenges and barriers.

“Moreover, Seyi Tinubu’s vision for Lagos aligns with the values and aspirations of the Igbo community.

“He’s committed to creating opportunities for economic growth, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the overall quality of life for Lagos residents.

“These are goals that Igbos in Lagos can get behind, and Obidike believes that Seyi Tinubu is the right person to make them a reality.

“As Igbos in Lagos consider their options for the 2027 election, they would do well to take Obidike’s words into account. Seyi Tinubu’s leadership could be a blessing in disguise for the Igbo community, bringing about positive change and progress.”

Group denies alleged Seyi Tinubu’s interference in NANS leadership

A group, Friends of Seyi Tinubu (FOST), has denied the alleged interference of Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son in the leadership transition process of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

The group described the allegations as baseless and malicious.

A statement by FOST President, Com. Adejorin Tai Manuel, explained that the unfounded claims, aimed at tarnishing reputation of a man deeply committed to the progress and unity of Nigerian students, must not be taken lightly.

The statement reads:  “It is no secret that NANS, as an institution, has long been plagued by factionalism and internal disputes, often hindering its ability to effectively represent the interests of Nigerian students.

“In light of this, Seyi Tinubu has consistently shown unwavering support for the student structure and other youth-focused initiatives, using his resources, time, and influence to foster peace, unity, and progress within the association.

“Today’s stakeholders’ meeting, aimed at unifying NANS and addressing its longstanding divisions, should serve as a testament to Mr. Seyi Tinubu’s commitment to the collective good.  Seyi Tinubu passionately preached unity and called on all factions to come together for the common good of Nigerian students.

“It is a deliberate effort to bridge divides and strengthen the student body for effective representation and impact. To misconstrue his intentions and twist his actions into baseless accusations of manipulation is not only unfair but also counterproductive to the growth and development of the Nigerian student movement.

“Mr. Seyi Tinubu has never sought to impose his will or favouritism upon the association. Instead, he has championed inclusiveness, equity, and fairness while dedicating his resources to ensuring that Nigerian students and youth structures are empowered for meaningful progress.

“His commitment has always been about building bridges and not walls, ensuring that NANS becomes a symbol of unity and strength, not division and discord.

“We, therefore, call on all Nigerian students, stakeholders, and civil society organizations to disregard these allegations and focus on the real issues that matter, strengthening NANS to serve the interest of every Nigerian student, irrespective of tribe, religion, or region.

“We also warn against the continued use of NANS as a tool for political manipulation or to malign individuals who genuinely desire the association’s progress. Mr. Seyi Tinubu’s dedication to the youth of this country should be celebrated, not weaponized against him.

“We urge all factions within NANS to embrace this moment as an opportunity for genuine reconciliation and unity. Only by working together can we achieve the progress and representation Nigerian students rightfully deserve.”

Lagos now for boys, Balami replies Igbokwe over Seyi Tinubu

Comments by Joe Igbokwe, an All Progressives Congress, (APC) chieftain condemning the encouragement of Seyi Tinubu to join the Lagos governorship race has drawn wide condemnation across the country.

Igbokwe, in a post on his Facebook page, said ruling Lagos was not a job for the boys, stating that the call was a distraction aimed at pulling President Bola Tinubu down.

An APC chieftain and former Deputy Campaign Manager for Obi/Datti in the 2023 election, Comrade Isaac Balami has added his voice against the position of Igbokwe.

Balami said he is mobilising supporters and groups across the country and Lagos to support Seyi Tinubu’s whose ability he believes will further reposition Lagos State.

According to him: “if Seyi Tinubu agrees to run in the next Lagos governorship election, I will come all out with my army of youths supporters to support him because as a young man I had suffered serious blow in the past years because they saw that I was young and ambitious. This is the time to change the practice of gerontocracy for the good of Lagosions.”

According to Balami, Igbokwe who he respects as a youth advocate took an archaic position on the matter.

He argued that modern democracy is chiefly driven by young and innovative minds.

The former spokesman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) expressed shock the controversial comment could originate from Igbokwe’s page, saying that good political actors will always stand with what they believe in “and I had thought Igbokwe believes so much in the potential of the Nigerian youths.

“There is no doubt that young people are taking over economically and politically. Historically, good governance is associated with young people who are in leadership positions. This is a fact Igbokwe knows and should defend because he started benefitting from politics very early in life.

“It remains a clear case of infringement on one’s fundamental human rights if someone who has hit the franchise age is deliberately denied the right and the opportunity to run and become the governor of Lagos state because of some campaign of calumny.

“And for the fact that the current agitation and campaign against Seyi Tinubu’s age is coming from someone who had not only benefited from the same opportunity but granted the same right despite his origin is quite disturbing.

“My group and I are ready to mobilize support for Seyi Tinubu should he decide to accept his endorsement by the various groups. We will do this to change the notion that the Lagos State governorship seat is reserved for certain age.

“Our interest in Seyi Tinubu is not only because he is a young man with the energy to deliver good governance to Lagosians, it is also because of the leadership he has provided in his capacity as Chief Executive Officers of different companies.

I’ll support Seyi Tinubu if he runs for governorship – VeryDarkMan

Controversial activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM) has publicly declared support for Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, should be decide to join the 2027 Lagos governorship race.

In an Instagram video, VDM explained that he believes Seyi represents a new generation of leadership in politics.

VDM also speculated that Seyi may be building a network of loyal supporters in key positions to further his political agenda.

He predicted that if Seyi becomes Governor, he could use his influence to propel supporters into key roles nationwide, potentially leading to a new wave of leadership.

“If Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governorship…I’m going to campaign for him. I don’t do politics but I’ll do politics because of Seyi Tinubu.

“Based on my calculation, Seyi Tinubu is a bridge to get something that I want, something that I believe will make Nigeria work,” he said.

Seyi Tinubu: A Phoenix Rising – Our APC National Youth Wing Young Person of the Year 2024

By Dr. Dayo Israel, National Youth Leader, APC

When disaster struck Borno State last December, it drew widespread attention and support from Nigeria’s top philanthropists and leaders. From captains of industry to political figures, the city of Maiduguri became a rallying point for collective action.

Among the many who responded, one name stood out for His quiet determination and thoughtful approach,Seyi Tinubu.

Mobilizing his network, Seyi brought tangible relief to displaced families, offering both financial assistance and essential supplies.

His efforts went beyond charity, embodying a sense of duty and empathy. This was not an isolated act but part of a larger pattern of contributions that began long before his father assumed the presidency.

I have seen firsthand Seyi’s consistent and impactful contributions to humanity over the years. Even before his father ascended to the lofty position of Commander-in-Chief, he demonstrated a deep commitment to social good.

One example is his endless support for monthly food interventions in Lagos communities through FoodClique, which operated in my neighborhood in Ebute Metta under the leadership of the late Bolajoko. His quiet but effective support has always been a source of inspiration to many.

Seyi Tinubu has consistently shown a commitment to addressing pressing social needs, often preferring action over docility. His work through initiatives like the Noella Foundation reflects a deep-rooted belief in community-driven change. From supporting food security to empowering youth through education and entrepreneurship, his efforts speak to a vision of sustainable impact.

A trained lawyer with degrees in Law and Corporate & Commercial Law from the University of Buckingham, Seyi has combined his professional background with entrepreneurial ventures, including his role as CEO of Loatsad Promomedia Ltd. Yet, his entrepreneurial success is just one facet of his identity; his greater passion lies in using his resources and influence to uplift others.

For many years, he has used his influence to support good causes through numerous organizations, including Sonia Agu’s Sapio Club and other foundations. These platforms have allowed him to extend his reach, touching lives across various sectors.

Whether it’s mentoring young entrepreneurs or sponsoring initiatives that address pressing societal needs, Seyi has consistently shown that leadership is about service.

The Noella Foundation, named after his daughter, has become a platform for addressing critical issues like girl-child education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.

Its flagship initiative, the Seyi Tinubu Empowerment Project (STEP), equips young Nigerians with the skills and resources needed to thrive in a digital economy, fostering innovation and resilience.

Seyi’s recent visit to Maiduguri, where he donated over ₦500 million in aid for flood victims, exemplifies his approach to leadership—one that prioritizes collaboration and swift action. Addressing Governor Babagana Zulum and other stakeholders, he emphasized the importance of collective effort in rebuilding lives and communities.

I have also witnessed how his interventions extend to health and education. His support for projects such as the Infant and Maternal Healthcare Intervention at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) and the scholarship scheme for pediatric residency doctors is a testament to his belief in systemic change.

Beyond these, his philanthropic acts—like offsetting medical bills for indigent patients, all these highlight his drive to bring relief to those who need it most.

Now in the corridors of power, he has not reneged in using his influence and access to improve the lives of many, young and old. He leaves not just his name on the mouths of many but his memories in the hearts of millions who might otherwise be forgotten.

Seyi’s actions underscore a broader philosophy: using one’s platform for the greater good. His approach avoids grandstanding, focusing instead on meaningful and lasting contributions. In an era where influence is often equated with visibility, his preference for understated service sets him apart.

As Nigeria navigates complex social and economic challenges, Young People like Seyi Tinubu remind us of the potential for individuals to drive change, not through power alone but through purpose and perseverance.

His journey is not about perfection but progress, and it is this quiet resilience that continues to inspire hope in those he serves.

In Light of this, the APC National Youth Wing is delighted to announce Mr Seyi Tinubu as our Young Person of the Year 2024 as part of our Progressives Young Leaders Award. He would be honored at an event to be announce soon.
