    Oba Kasali marks first anniversary

Oba Abdulsamad Olalekan Kasali of Esure Kingdom, Ijebu-Mushin, Ogun State, has celebrated his first anniversary as a king.

Certificates were also presented to new chiefs and the kingdom’s new palace project was presented to the public.

The monarch showed his appreciation to everyone who came out to honour him and his kingdom.

“I appreciate you all for honouring my invitation and for taking out time to celebrate with me and the entire good people of Esure Kingdom. I am highly impressed with the turn-out of this joyous crowd that has come out to rejoice with me on this my first coronation anniversary,” he said.

He also extended his best wishes to non-indigenes in Esure, saying they have been a major part of their growth and they do not see them as strangers.

“In the last one year, we have been able to reposition Esure as a pacesetter. We have rebuilt our socio-cultural image and infrastructural transformation has taken a new shape. With the help of Almighty God, I have been able to unite the Council of Chiefs (The Esure Traditional Council). This is because, without a united Council of Chiefs, we cannot achieve any meaningful development in the town. Before my ascension, there had been issues with the Council of Chiefs but I have been able to settle the rancour and have united the council members to be one formidable team for peace, unity, and development,” he added.

The king urged the new recipients of the chieftaincy titles to continue to show the people why they were chosen.

“I took the decision to confer chieftaincy titles on these indigenes because of their contributions to the community and outstanding representation in their various fields of endeavors, their character, business acumen, and public disposition. I have found them worthy as Esure men and women who are also culturally inclined and traditionally oriented personalities. They will promote and facilitate developmental growth as well as our cultural heritage in Esure Kingdom,” he said.
