    Describing him as a great friend, Elumelu wished him good health and prosperity, as he clocked 62.

    FORMER Commissioner that represented Ndokwa Nation in DESOPADEC, Delta State, Sir Kenny Okolugbo, has joined the league of 50. He was celebrated by family and friends on Wednesday, including Senator Florence Ita-Giwa.

    Ita-Giwa said she couldn’t say no to the invitation even though she had only met the celebrant once and it was during a television programme.

    According to her, she was impressed with Okolugbo’s knowledge of Bakassi issues. She added that he spoke on her side and in support of the people of Bakassi.

    Ita-Giwa also said he was ready to help and provide information to help their cause. The senator is passionate about the people of Bakassi and she always challenges the government to pay more attention to their lights.

    Okolugbo, who is also the Managing Director of Kenkol Company, studied Political Science at the Edo State University, Ekpoma, Benin. That was the major foundation of his knowledge of politics. He has also declared his intention to serve the Ndokwa Nation in the House of Representatives on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.

    HAVE you ever wondered who is the role model of the superstar photographer, TY Bello? While celebrating her elder sister, Folake Aina, at 60, she revealed that she modeled her life after her.

    She said growing up, she wanted to be like her who she fondly calls ‘Sisimi’ and she learnt many things from her.

    “…as far back as I remember, she’s the one person I’ve always wanted to be like and it is exciting that she still is. Many things that I do – my love for big hair, the way I keep my home almost near perfect, the way I serve food, the way there has to be a little bit of oomph in my fashion, my prayer life, and even the way I wife, mother, and lead. Every aspect of the woman I am has been taught by my darling Sisimi,” she shared.

    She appreciated her sister for being a mother and a friend to her, saying she is the most beautiful 60-year-old she has ever photographed.

    A colourful party was held to celebrate Aina in Lagos on Thursday. Her husband, Sola Aina, and their four children shared how she inspires everyone around her, including them.

    Entertainers such as Waje, Omawumi, Laycon, Gbenga Adeyinka, Hyenana, and a host of others were spotted at the birthday reception.

    FILMMAKER and Chief Executive Officer of Terra Kulture, Bolanle Austen-Peters, has two kids and she is always proud to celebrate their successes.

    Weeks after she celebrated her son, Tife’s graduation from the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom, she admitted her respect for her “genius” daughter.

    She said even though she is her mother, her curriculum vitae looks unreal to her.

    “Celebrating Madam Genius Tamilayo. Excellence should always be celebrated,” she said. “You were first in every year of primary school, 13 A stars from secondary school, 4 A stars and distinction at A Levels, and first-class from Cambridge. I respect your commitment, hard work, and focus.”

    She also prays that as she grows older, she would be the first in things that are honourable and decent.

    Austen-Peters was particularly proud of her son’s recent academic achievement, as she and her husband, Adegboyega Austen-Peters, also studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science. The filmmaker earned a master’s degree in International Law from the school.

    BUSINESS woman, Chief (Princess) Comfort Folashade Omotade, was recently installed as the Mojibade Egba by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, and she celebrated it in a big way.

    After the installation, a party was held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Omotade arrived at the venue in a Range Rover jeep, and she was accompanied into the hall by a crowd of friends, drummers, and praise singers.

    But former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, reserved his energy for the occasion and unleashed it on the dance floor.

    Even when the excited celebrant introduced Obasanjo to her friends, going from one table to another, Obasanjo was already moving his body to beats.

    He later turned his attention to the stage and danced with King Sunny Ade with the rare energy of a man of his age. They also exchanged banters.

    Last week at her birthday celebration, everyone saw why the doyen of fashion in Nigeria is still indispensable when it comes to high society affairs.

    Highly respected Nigerians, including Toyin Saraki, the wife of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, reserved special praises for Sisi Abah.

    Wishing her a happy birthday, she described her as precious gold that money can’t buy.

    “80 years of grace, love, and fashion! Such a joy to rejoice with my dear friend and brother, Segun Awolowo, on the 80th birthday celebration of his wonderful mother, Sisi Abah, in Lagos. Truely, a mother is a precious gold that money cannot buy,” she said.

    It was equally a joyous moment for her only child, Segun, a  former executive director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, and grandson of nationalist Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

    UNITED Kingdom-based Nigerian Pastor, Tobia Adegboyega, has not let controversies dim the light of his ministry in London. He has been accused of being too flamboyant, and it was recently in the news that the UK government shut down his church over certain irregularities.

    It later turned out that the affected property was not his church but one of his companies. The news, however, raised eyebrows, as some observers claimed his expensive lifestyle was responsible for the misfortune of the founder of SPAC Nation.

    Those distractions did not matter to Adegboyega who appears to have developed a thick skin to negative comments.

    Some days ago, he hosted a barbecue party in London with his youthful members. His father and mother were also present at the party.

    Rocking a Gucci polo and a cap, he thanked his members for letting the world know about the church and what they do. He also cracked jokes intermediary, which excited guests.

    The atmosphere was fun and relaxing. At some point, the pastor did a video call with singer Davido. He congratulated him and his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who recently emerged the winner of the Osun State governorship election.

    While friends and family members are still mourning the loss of a top showbiz promoter, Dotun Olaribigbe, aka Lobito Disco, his close friend, Adebayo  Kassim, aka Kas Chicken, has also passed.

    He died the day Lobito Disco was laid to rest. Lobito was buried on Thursday, July 28, at Ebony Vaults & Gardens, Ikoyi, Lagos.

    It was gathered that Kassim led a team of friends to raise money for Lobito’s family and had planned to hand over the money to them after the burial ceremony.

    Kassim, who was buried immediately according to Islamic rites, wrote a powerful tribute for Lobito.

    He wrote, “Good night my general, we have been friends for about 45 years, not one day passed that we didn’t talk, I will greatly miss you. Wait for me at the gate of heaven. See you on the other side, your friend and brother forever.”

    Kassim owned Kas Chicken, a restaurant on Allen Avenue in Ikeja and Surulere areas of Lagos. The restaurant was a go-to place for Lagos and military big boys during its peak. Kas Chicken was popular in Lagos in the 80s and 90s.

    During a recent visit to the palace, the President of Ikeja Club, Chief Ayodeji Randle, commended the king for his leadership and efforts in uniting the Aworis.

    Randle also said the club would love Oba Obalanlege to serve as the Royal Father of the Day at their forthcoming 56th anniversary and induction of new members on Friday, August 26, 2022.

    The king assured the delegates of his continuous support and presence at the forthcoming event.

    He also blessed members of the club to become more successful in life.
